I was at the Admiral's hockey game Saturday night with my analog friend. After a couple beers, I knew she'd be wanting to go out, so I grabbed my handy dandy JS & said "hey....wanna take a hit?" We of course giggled at the way I said that.... She did and the vapes she took during the game were enough to keep her inside without discomfort & satisfied her cravings.

Which of course lead to further discussion at the pub afterwards! YEAH! Finally! =)
She tried my 901, 510 & JS this summer, but the beer had been flowing and she kept inhaling too hard, so she kept getting a mouthful of juice. No; I didn't think about taking the cart apart & dripping into the JS so that wouldn't happen until the next day......like I said, beer involved.....

She was a Chantix baby last year & kept off analogs for a good 4 months. And she still found herself struggling. Then summer and vacation happened.....and beer....and she began the 'only on vacation...' cycle...and we all know where that ended up.....so, she's been struggling with wanting to quit for almost a year now.

After my passing the 8 month mark last week, the fact that I never preached, but, let her know she was free to try it anytime & discovering how well it worked at the game, she's really ready to make the switch to vaping.

She's a no nonsense kind of girl and her biggest concern is making it last all day. She works down at O'Hare, so with a 1.5 hr drive one way, a 10 hr shift, the drive back, she stated flat out she's looking at something that would last her a good 14 hrs.
She does NOT care if it looks like a cigarette, like so many newbies worry about (guilty!), she just wants something that will work.
She smokes Marl' Ultra Lights, but I've noticed she's a strong inhale.

My first thought was the stick -- small, compact enough to fit in her blazer or clip to the back of her pants/skirt, and having a cord would allow her to do little charge-ups when she's at her desk, or, of course, she can carry a couple extra batteries. Plus, she can drip, which should help with the inhale situation. If she discovers that the throat hit isn't strong enough with the 801, she can always get a 510 adaptor, which is what I've been using in mine.
Con: I'm on my third. Granted, since getting the new one, I've only used the 510 adaptor so there's been no way juice could possibly leak into the unit....

But, I'm also wondering if something like a Chuck would be better for the money. I have yet to see a Chuck in real life, so I'm not sure. I've seen the Prodigy (thx Vicks!!), but I'm thinking the throat hit on the 801/JS would be good for her, since she's never known the beauty of the 510 LOL

Any suggestions? Being this is a friend I see/talk to a lot, it's harder than tossing out a model to someone one the boards!! LOL

================

On a side note, we eventually ended up in a bar closer to home and I pulled out my 510. A guy also at the bar said "Cool! Another one of those e-cigarettes!" I got all excited! Someone outside my little circle who knew what it was! I asked if he used it, and he said no, he's a dealer at a casino and one of his high rollers uses one.....I think he said they don't allow smoking in some of the rooms, but this guy uses it all the time & the casino is all for it (sorry; I don't know much about casinos, so I think that's what he said). He went onto say that the guy sells them. In Milwaukee? Yup; but he didn't know anything more than that.
It wasn't until later I started thinking....hmmm...could he have been talking about YKnot? or maybe from the kiosk at the mall? I didn't even think about asking the kid for a description of the guy.
Has anyone heard of sellers in the Milwaukee area? Have I been gone that long?? lol

Hmmmm - dilemas abound. The Chuck's take a while to arrive, as they're all custom built and decorated by just the one guy.

You might suggest a protege from puresmoker - they run on 3.7 and have interchangable adapters to run whichever atty you need 'em to.

Or, I've been hearing some good reviews of the Janty eGo - but it's still new in the field and I'm certain that any 'problems' haven't surfaced yet.....

I'd definately keep her away from the higher volt mods (5v, 6v, etc) until she's discovered the basics of vaping, otherwise there's a TON of frustration involved in learning the gear....

We gonna see you at the next meet, Mlr? I gotta show off my new Chuck!

Luckily, we have time on our side. LOL
She's still coming to grasps with the idea of doing something with a start up cost. Since I have the JS already, and she's had the chance to try before she buys, that's why it stuck out in my mind the most. She's on vacation next week, so when she comes over Sunday to watch the games, I figured I'd set her up with a complete JS w/801 & fresh cart and let her go to town with it that afternoon & see what she thinks.

But, when she stressed the long battery life, that's when I started thinking along the lines of a Chuck, Protege or the like. The only thing I'm worried about there, is how well it would fit in her blazer pocket to have on hand.

Janty eGo? Hmmm...sounds interesting. Too bad their website is down right now =(

You have the Prodigy, correct Vicks? Gotta love companies that name their products soo closely spelled LOL I figured from your initial experience that the Prodigy would be a little too much for her, but I didn't think about the Protege!

I have a question for you. I know that you did the Kissbox & Stick before the Prodigy. Now that you have adjusted to the Prodigy, do you still find the Stick as satisfying?

I ask that 'cause I think had I bypassed the 510 & went straight from the 901 to the JS, it would have been a perfect match for me. Since I became accustomed to the hit of the 510, it just always seemed that the stick was a little on the weak side for me. The 510 adaptor helps a LOT, but it's like the 510's lil sister.
It's also because of that I, well, as of now, have resisted the Prodigy, since it sounds like that would give me an even stronger hit than the 'normal' 510. But, now you have me revisiting the idea of the Protege.

Which leads me to yet another question: Protege & Chuck, at least internally, are basically the same Voltage wise, right? Sorry; I need a 'battery voltage for dummies" book!

As for our next meeting: I noticed ya'll were talking about next Saturday, the 16th. I wouldn't be able to do that day, as we have plans already I can't get out of. BUT, I am open the following weekend, the 23rd. After that, I won't be available again until Feb 13th.

I sooo can't wait to get together with everyone again! Gotta see the latest stash of toys and goodies!! I still have all the name tags, too! =)

Lemme see, now - with me hopelessly addicted to the Prodigy (and having a discrete love affair with Chuckie, LOL) the stick certainly has something 'missing' to it. I've still used it on occasion (when I ran out of battery power on the Prod out and about) but it's not quite powerful enough anymore..... which is part of the reason I always sidestepped around the 510 attys....they're supposed to run hotter and harder, and deliver an additional punch.

Right now, the Stick isn't even in my daily arsonal (I loaned it out to a friend who wants to convert to vaping) and I don't miss the little guy. As for the Kissbox and the standard batteries, the last time I went to them it was like vaping air - little flavor, little throat hit.... hard to believe that was once my golden boy!!!

Now, on to voltage....the Prodigy is set to run at 5v or 6v depending on the switch you use, and the regular Chuck is set to run at 6v. The little Chuck is set for 3.7, same as the Protege and the Stick. The higher the voltage, the warmer the vapor, and the stronger the TH.

But, other things you can do to improve TH are to increase the nic level, or add a little everclear to your juices (the vaporized alcohol works well for additional kick). I remember a while back in the DIY section a lively discussion about getting TH outta no nic solutions, and that was a suggestion (lemon juice was another!)

From pics I've seen of the eGo - it's a small device, smaller lengthwise than the Protege, runs 510 attys, and has a sleeve covering the atty to warm the vapor even more. The batteries (propriatery) are supposed to be USB chargable (like the Stick) and are supposed to last around 8-10 hrs at a charge. People have been saying that they last, too, with none of the piddling out performance of standard batteries - in other words, the last hit is as good as the first.

I LOVE the fact that you resisted the 510 & succumed to even MORE power!
I know the term "unintended consequences" can be applied somewhere here!! LOL

OK; in the wide world of comparison batteries mods, we have:

6v - big Chuck & Prodigy (which could also be a gentler 5V)
3.7v - lil Chuck, Protege, Stick

I tried to do a search to see what the voltage is for just a traditional 510, but I couldn't find it. Would it be safe to assume it's about a 4v-4.5v?

With all the positives JS has, I must admit, it normally becomes second bannana. I have a feeling I'm going to end up doing the same thing and offering it to my friend to borrow & see how it works for her.

Thx for the info on the eGo! I see Janty is back up and it does look cute...but very new. I'm normally one of those that sits back & let's ya'll work out the bugs before jumping in ;) Especially since hubby just noticed the arsenol is starting to grow LOL

My next new toy the Indulgence  (I am buying this for Thomas ya that it)

The Indulgence Manual STARTER KIT in Titanium is a Universal Battery, Atomiser and **USB Passthrough solution that enables you to use the most popular Rechargeable Batteries (with optional extender cup) or **USB power source with the following 5 Atomiser models and 4 provided threads: DPV9 (KR808D1)/EM9 (901), EM4 (40X), EM5 (510) & EM8 (801).

Indulgence is made from high quality CNC machined and electroplated alloy parts. The body (without battery or atomiser) weighs in at a lightweight 40grams (70grams with battery & atomiser). The design is solder free and without wires featuring a manual switch activated by a solid metal button that will tolerate over one million presses (machine tested).

Two 3.7v 18350 batteries supplied in this kit are protected with an inbuilt PCB and each output 1.2amps @ 900mAh (true mAh) so the 3.7v (*6v option also available) starter kit which uses one battery at a time will provide impressive performance on any of the above atomisers and for at least 5 to 6 hours per battery of non stop Indulgence with your favorite e-Liquid (sold separately).

*The Optional Extended Indulgence Battery Cup with spring adjusts to multiple batteries (it's sold separately to this kit) and is bundled with either 1x 18650 3.7v protected 3000mAh battery rated at 24+ hours of continuous usage or 2x 16340 (CR123A) 3v protected 880mah batteries (used together) so you can enjoy the high performance of 6v with Specially Designed EM5-HV, EM8-HV & EM9-HV 4.5 OHM High Volt Atomisers (optional with bundle).

With a name like the indulgence....it's gotta have a vibrator option somewhere in the package....

just a friendly warning, tho.....DON'T VAPE AND VIBE!

On another topic, tho....has anyone seen the Ploom? It's slightly different tech then our PV's, using butane to vaporize soaked tobacco-pods, but I'll bet with a bit of imagination, we could adapt it to vaporize liquid (kinda like the Iolite).

Their products have been listed at 'coming soon' forever, tho....and I'm starting to wonder if they're ever gonna launch.

LMAO!! My friend use to sell for Pure Romance. You can imagine the comments when I told her the vaping world had their own version of the Silver Bullet LOL
Perhaps, Ricky Nelson said it best:
Well it's alright now
I learned my lesson well
You can't please everyone
So you got to please yourself......

My friend came over last weekend for some beers & football and I loaded up the JS with the 801 & fresh cart.
She did pretty good with it, but said she just wasn't 'feeling it'. I switched the atty to the 510 and she said that was better.."..getting closer...." lol

Knowing the learning curve is tricky, I purposely didn't give her a 510 or 808 to try. Guess I had a 'tough it out' mentality going LOL
I've been pondering it over the week and I think this week when we meet, I'll let her try those two and see how that works out.

I keep reading up on the eGos & wow!! they sound so totally awesome, I actually went and put on in my cart last night.......but decided right now is NOT the time for me to be purchasing it....but I've got my eye on it.
