My atty and the battery

Hello everyone, Im rather new to vaping. I have been using my Joy eGo 510 using the drip methor for about a month and a half. So far ive had 2 batteries go bad on me, one got extreamly hot when charging the other would blink 3 times when i pushed the button but produce no vapor. I tried different attys but got the same result.

I have been using the same atty for a week and a half. Just today when I pushed the button to get a puff it blinked twice and and then nothing, no vape. I took the atty off and pushed the button and it worked fine and the battery reacted fine. Put the atty back on and got the same 2 blinks. I changed the atty and its working fine.

My question is: Has this happened to other people? Did my atty go bad on me? And could that be causing the battery to react this way.

Thanks so much, Im glad to be a part of this forum.

Your volt meter should have an ohms or resistance function. Set it to the lowest ohms setting, touch the leads together and note the reading. Then, touch one lead to the center pin of the atty connector and the other to the outside shell of the connector. Subtract the reading from the when you touched the leads together from the reading of the atty.

Yeah, it does. seems to be hard to pull on but i think thats just cheap production, or so ive been told. I should also say that my vold meter didnt give me an initial reading when I touched the probes together, it just bounced around. It stayed at 1 initially, so maybe its 1.2 and 2.0? Sorry, im just unfamiliar with this stuff.

Hellshalf, do you wipe up the juice that leaks into your battery when you drip? I used to not ... but learned that the juice
will eventually get deeper into the battery and mess up its innards. It takes a while, but it will happen. I also drip, but mostly with an Ego batt. I did ruin 2 of them early on ... and they did look a real mess in the thread area. Hot batteries scare me, so I got in the habit of dabbing up that leaked juice once in a while and especially before I put the batt on the charger. What kind of juice are you using? VG-based won't leak as much as PG juice ...
Good luck to you, and happy dripping! :vapor:

Batteries blink when there is an error with the current flow. That means that the atomizer is dead. I am 95% certain of this. To test that what I am telling you is the truth just take an atomizer or a cartomizer and unscrew it a little bit and hit the button. It'll work a little ways out but if you get to a point where it's about halfway screwed in, it'll blink for you. If you unscrew it all the way off it won't blink it'll just fire the battery like normal. Now you can see the difference.

Sorry to hear that you had a death in your vaping family. 306 atomizers seem to last a long time, but why not try a boge cartomizer (2.0 ohm LR single coil) which last for months and months, or the 1.7 ohm LR Smoktech cartomizer (aka: the resurrector) which many people commonly consider the best carto on the market. One one hand you have decent vape with proven durability in the Boge, and the other you have a better vape. The choice is yours.
