This is my issue. When trying to vape the hole on the carto for my j-tank I can see the coil in the middle of the carto shine bright red. And when vaping the taste of my e-liquid is not there. I get this real intense burning flavor that i'm starting to believe is not safe at all. The first set I bought had the same problem and I emailed the provider and he sent me a new set but it seems to be the same issue. I'm using a mini lavatube and i've been having trouble finding the right carto for my j-tank to use. I love my mini lavatube but I just can't get a break...Help maybe with fixing the cartos i already have or any suggestions of what works best for High vaping on my lavatube.

Okay, if I ask any questions that may sound demeaning, I'm not intending them that way. You are filling the cartos before you put them in the tank right? What type of cartomizers are you using? The J-Tank use Boges and with a Lavatube, it'll regulate when it's reached as high as it can safely go.
The only time you'd see red coil is if you've run the carto too long which pretty much isn't possible with the Lavatube's cutoff feature or if the carto is dry and is burning the filling. Also, could be a manufacturer defect.
sounds like it not wicking right what kind of carto are you using? are you putting some juice in the carto when you first load it? I've never had a issue with my j-tank I use 3ohm boge cartos that I cut myself with a dremel when I put in a fresh carto I fill the carto and the tank

I fill the carto as I normally would before putting it in the tank (I happen to use the syringe method, it works best for me).
The pre-punched hole is always too small, imho. I use a 1/4'' self-tapping saddle valve from Home Depot / Lowe's to punch regular cartos, rather. It's as if it's made for punching cartos - a no skill deal. Others use dremmels to slot the cartos, but I'm not too keen on flying hot metal shavings in my house.
A little quick brisk puff here and there, without pushing the button, helps with wicking especially with thick juices (think Gorilla Juice). Don't overdo it with, or you'll flood the carto.
