Hi my name is Maria, I have been vaping for almost 4 years and with all the new mods and gadgets coming out, I still vape with my T3S and Evods with 2.2 ohm and the same juice I always have bought. I clean all my things all the time but lately they have not been tasting or vaping like they use to. I have batteries from 650mah vv to sub- vod mini TC, which burns my throat ughh I don't like strong throat hits. I have 6mg and 12mg juice from 2 different places and I usually mix them but I don't know if maybe that's why they are tasting bad. I have no clue what's going on, and it's so frustrating!! I buy mostly kangertech, some of batteries are innnokin. So if someone can please shed some light or a little advice I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks so much
Maria

What wattage are you using.

More heat will destroy the flavor of some ejuice.

You mention you mix 2 liquids you get from 2 different places. Are these local B&M mixed juices? Because it seems like your hardware is all the same, but if the supplier is mixing their juice differently, that could be a variable that's making it taste off to you. You could ask if they've changed their liquid.

I believe you have the Mega not the Mini Subvod. Here is a vid on how to use it properly if you have not watched one yet

It is very important for you to only use ni200 coils in TC mode and non TC coils in power mode only. Cheers.

P.S. Do not use the Subvod tank on any battery other than the one it came with. Likewise only use the T3's on the small "stick" batteries.

I agree with Bonnie C. If I recall correctly, the two tanks that you have are made of polycarbonate plastic. Some e-liquid flavors are caustic to this type of plastic. It may be time for you to upgrade your tanks to something made of pyrex glass and stainless steel.

Something Safe for Cinnamon & Citrus Flavors
  • There are some flavors which can destroy plastic tanks. Discover which flavors are known to cause this, watch a video of a tank melting using one of these flavors, and see a picture dictionary of safe products to use if you enjoy using these flavors.
Eskie mentioned that mixing flavors from two manufacturers might be the issue, and I agree with this also.

For my own input, Kanger replacement coils have historically been inconsistent over the last few years. It wouldn't surprise me that you got a "bad batch" of coils. Again, maybe upgrade your tanks to something made by Aspire or Innokin. I suggest the Aspire Mini Nautilus. That's my :2c:

Kanger coils seem to have A LOT of issues like this with burning(especially older ones).. Could be many things from burning wick, hot spot on the coil, not using TC while using a nickel coil which can cause the coil to burn.. many, many things can cause this, but I have had many friends who have experienced this burning metal taste with Kanger tanks and coils. I am fairly new, but have already experienced this first hand. For my one friend, he was using vw mode while using a Kanger ni200 coil. Once he switched to TC mode he never had an issue again (this was with the Kanger subtank nano I think).. My other friend was not priming his coils properly and was not taking any primer pulls after letting his tank sit for a long time to rewet the wick. Once he made sure his wick has properly saturated, he also got rid of all burning issues. Then of course, you could just have defective products with coils, tanks, or mods giving, or receiving wrong power which can also mess up the coil and cause it to burn. Hard to narrow it down to a specific thing without seeing it and playing with it personally.

Good point. I forgot about the don't use Cinnamon in plastic rule (I just vape tobacco flavors for now). I didn't realize it actually melts the plastic though.

It smelled the same but I'm definitely going to ask, thanks.

Sounds like vapors tongue, give it a week maybe. The evods have SOCC now if you can find them. All cotton, if not I buy sheets and rewick the old style. Find cotton tastes much better, some companies also make bad batches. Did nothing wrong just the giant jug of flavour they purchased was old. Places here make it "to order" so everytime they make it they introduce flesh air to the flavour which will mute it.

Is there a burning or burny flavor? Definitely that's a special, important and common category of flavor problems.

Generally most tanks can be swapped between batteries with correct settings. However, you're right that the Subvod battery probably shouldn't be used for anything else, as it expects to connect to one of 2 specific coils only. Probably should have warnings all over it (although I doubt it will misbehave that bad) ...
Actually, I don't like the preset small stick batteries very much because they tend to put out too much voltage for an EVOD, even with the 2.2 or 2.5 ohm coils. Yeah, I know they're made to work perfect, but they don't. Good for very short drags only. I don't like the 1.8 ohm coils and have no idea what they had in mind for the 1.5's (these are all Kanger single coil types).

Check for the SOCC coils (red writing on them), while cotton's improvement the box I got was very poorly made and they were good at first but didn't hold up. An internal shot of some others don't look as messed up as mine were though.

The plastic tanks can crack, but I've never seen that they negatively affect flavor before then. They can get a nasty flavor after a while (months) which a cleaning helps (airing out is also good). Water left behind can really mess up the flavor though, and doesn't seem to go away either (even though a tiny amount of distilled water well mixed into the juice doesn't seem to have the same effect). I need a new batch of EVODs myself, I have 2 mini Protanks which are glass but I don't like them as much, flavor wise they lack a LOT for some reason and they even get an off flavor to them faster than the plastic tanks. And as for the dual coil series, thoroughly unimpressed, I'm thinking of adapting my way-overpriced Aerotank to single coils as I hate it now... the duals do have less off-flavors, but at the cost of less flavor total even while consuming more power and juice.

Your ejuice could have switched to higher VG, which is thick and doesn't wick that great. I used to like 50/50 juices in my EVODs but but after using them less I find myself less willing to baby them, and need just a little more PG even if it means diluting an expensive juice... Or your vendor may be trying to make the exact same, but it is very easy to mess up.

    Just
    What is vapors tongue?
Just lose of flavour sense. If it's the same flavour it's like gum, you can't taste it but if you stop chewing awhile you can. People suggest vaping menthol, mint or flavorless for a little to cleanse the palate. It comes and goes for me sometimes even in the same day but could last much longer. You want higher VG in sub ohm then above ohm, could be the burn taste your getting in SubVod, PG causes the throat hit, If you vape 50/50 in EVOD try 30/70 for sub ohm. also if you used to 9mg you should only use 4 or 5mg for sub ohm.. mix 3 and 6.
