I actually make them just a U shape now, and a tiny bit larger in diameter. Either way works good, the version pictured holds the wick more securely when your fastening the wires, but makes it trickier to get the coil in. I'm like an explosion, I generally take the path of least resistance, so the U shape it is
I'm bumping this thread, as even though it is an iAtty thread, the photo's for the coil building are the same. Please note that I no longer wrap the NR wire around the wick this way, Odysseus definitely doesn't require that. But it is a tidy looking coil
I've been experimenting a little with coils and voltages today myself. So far, the best flavor, vapor and throat hit is............
1.6 ohms at 4.2 v. And that's coming from a HV guy. I backed up into the voltage with a Provari because I didn't like the 1.6 at 3.7 and way going to chuck it. That coil now is a keeper. vaping 30% halo torque, 30% av raffalicious, 40% IKV pg RY4, all in 24mg. Flavor and vapor shine nicely at that voltage
Sorry to ressurect such an old thread, but how in hell do you mod your ceramic cups so beautifully?? I've modded a couple iatty ceramics using 100 grit sand paper wrapped around a credit card for stability, which takes FOREVER but gets results. I'd love to know how you do it so perfectly!
Ahahaha, thanks Mac
Next step is modding my Iatty to accommodate SS mesh. Dspin tells me it's been done, I just haven't found the thread for it yet. I did rig a ss mesh wick into my patriot, so I don't see why it'll be any harder in the iatty
