Would a 470 ohm resistor be way too much or is it still feasible?

Thanks I know I am way late, but still interested in tryong to achieve this mod.

Also I would be making this for a 510 Atty anyone try that yet? If so could I get some input on wether it would work or be a waste? thanks again.

If you are talking for the LED - THe 470 would be fine your LED may be Dimmer than witha 100

Just wanted to say thanks for the How to Video. I have made around 9 of them for other people. I use a 14500 battery with a pvc sprinkler head connector as the spacer, perfect fit. Thanks for the time shared Madog!

There is a pic of my custom SFY plug beside the battery. I would be happy to send you some for your time and dedication. They are food grade silicon and perfect for the 510 carts! See the SFY thread in cart mods.

I read this thread a couple days ago and noticed your using my favorite flashlight to carry in my car :) Didn't have the heart to kill my flashlight, but noticed these at Big Lots for $3 today. Picked a couple up and just ordered the batteries from DX. Thanks madog for including the place to order as well as the very detailed video, can't wait to try it out!

I had to register with e-cig forums just to give madog a big THANKS for sharing this!..
im a new vapor with a few weeks xperience and ive been seeing these giant modded e cigs like the SB and BB and wondering where i can get one!?..
well this is the first place and the first thread i checked for mods and low and behold i have the same flashlight!.. ive never tinkered with the interior componets of electronics like this, but i think i can handle it thanks to ur awesome video.. thanks so much, i will get back to this thread with an update on how it goes...
so far ive disassembled everything and drilled my hole 4 a switch that i happened to have from a lil motorized model kit. i found a nice lil plastic lid that fits tightly in the top of the light, the lid is from a tube of cut-off dics that came with a dremel kit.. i will throw a picture up. i still gotta get a battery adaptery piece of a dead batt and stick it on there.. and i plan on hittin radio shak 4 sum led's and lil cases 4 them along with the resistor and sum soldering wire and im set!.. and oh yea gotta order sum cr2s aswell.. i might re paint the light b4 i put it together cuz its a lil beat up..

well apperntly i cant post a pic yet as this is my first post.. too bad, will try too knock those out and post pics sumtime =]

whoa just squeezed on a battery to get the atomizer adapter off, the batt got super hot to the point where it almost burnt my fingers!.. sat it down and covered it with a frying pan,lol.. gonna let it cool off 4 a bit and hope it doesnt leak acid... guess i shouldve waited 4 a dead one but i think ill be fine?
i used a bigass momentary switch so everything is very cramped inside but looks ok so far...
question, i purchased 100-ohm 1/2 watt 5%tolerance resistor instead of the 1/8 watt madog used.. im using a 5mm red led will i be ok?

arright arright lol... seem to have finally got it to hold on with a better soldering iron... now im havin another problem, the led turns on when there is no atty screwed on, once i screw on the atty i get no light and no vapor no nuthin.. i am using the original 3 AAA batts to test with but i think there about dead so that might be my problem?

Sounds about right to me...
actually i put fresh batts in and still got the same prob.... sum1 had the same issue on another thread and sum1 else said its probably the silicon in the atty connector melted and shorted the connection.. so ill be replacing that and givin it another try..
even so ive definately got the mod bug allready and ive been tearin apart old electronics all day, snatchin out led's and switches:p
just a note, old playstation2 controllers have nice lil tactile switches under the analog sticks (for the L3 and R3 buttons)..
i also found a sweet stainless steel tube with removable caps on both ends and fit cr2's perfectly, these are a part of a mini portable camping grill u can get at sporting goods stores.. the only thing is they have holes drilled in them and will need to be cut to length, something i may work on in the future...

i still have a question concerning the madog magmod.. im going to be using a protected 14500 batt. what kind of resistor should i be using for my 5mm red led?? right now its hooked up to a 100ohm 1/2 watt.. will that be ok? and would that be good for cr2's aswell? (i got sum disposables i wanna try)

.

I haven't received these yet, but the price seems right ...

NEW LOT OF 5 - MINI 9-LED BRIGHT FLASHLIGHT TORCH BLACK

5/ $6.99 Shipped (from Calli Fornica, no less!)

.

Good price! Those should work. Hopefully those aluminum hash marks on the top are not all the way through, might cause some headache putting in the electronics.
