Yes, this is another "I visited my doctor today" posts. I was the first patient today, only in for my semi-annual exam. Doc walks in and I said to him I am sure you reviewed my chart and have a the list of standard questions you want to ask. The first one was, "are you still smoking?" I told him I have not touched a tobacco product in 45 days. When his jaw lifted off the floor, he shook my hand and asked how I did it. I produced my pen-style vaporizer and went through the entire routine and demonstration. He was prepared to give me the 'your fifty years old and had your thirty years of fun' lecture, but that never happened.

I think he was more excited at my success than I. He was pretty stoked about the e-cig and asked me for more information and some websites he could visit to do a bit more research. As a result of leaving 'North Carolina's state vegetable' out of my diet, he only feels the need to see me once a year, not twice. Many thanks to Ruyan, to Johnson Creek and to all of you for this success. Oh yeah, thanks to me for actually pulling it off.

I don't have a 'regular' doctor. I had to visit a walk in clinic yesterday and mentioned that I had quit smoking seven weeks ago, and that I had been vaping. Absolute lack of interest from either him or from the nurse/assistant. I'm sure familiarity would've provoked a different response... or at least some kind of reaction. I know I couldn't be more pleased! :)

On the flip side though - perhaps if he'd swallowed the swill the FDA is peddling he'd be all 'Oh no! You are going to DIE! Cease immediately!' but he said nothing, perhaps it was more a 'ok, good for you, I have no objections' silence, so maybe that was a good thing? :)
