Wanted to post this in the V4L forum but I understand the credit system and I'm glad to see this is being done. Ive see on a few other ecig forums end up being just full of spam from users with just a few posts and they are all the same.

Coming up on one month without a cigarette kind of blows my mind, I honestly didnt think I could do it.
In short, very happy with my KR808 and V4L. It is a great starter kit but you can go the cheap route and just get a blank carts, juice, battery, and a charger. Do get a pass-through if your around a USB port a lot and or for the car with a car to USB port adapter. Picked up a 2 port for $3. That said I actually dont use my batteries that much.
I will be buying only juice from now on though do to the prefilled carts seem to dry/fade out. Also seems to be a cheaper route just a little more work.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Background.....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
29 years old and have been smoking since around 14, though I didn't really start
smoking till 16-17. Mostly smoked Marlboro Red shorts but would randomly try new
things like unfiltered Lucky Strike, which I have to say is still my favorite, Newport, Camel Wide, well you get the idea. One of those switches up lead me to Marlboro Medium Menthols which ended up making me sick coughing up blood. I quit
for about 4 months after that.
Already trying to cut back I saw one of the Harris boys from Deadliest Catch
puffing on an eCig and saw that as my ticket to kicking cigarettes. Seen eCigs
long ago but that was when they first were shown off and appeared mostly for show.
After hunting down the maker/reseller of what the boys were using, inLife. It
really turned me away from eCig's being inLife appear to be pretty much your
typical, forgive me, pyramid scheme.
Day or two later I started reading up and found that inLife was not the only eCig
reseller and got pretty much overwhelmed with information. I had no idea what I
should buy, where I should buy, nicotine level I need, 510, kr808, 901, 801, 401, 123, eCig, screwdriver, atomizer, cartomizer, pass-through, 3v, 5v,
6v... I was fried.
Was all ready to get an eCig but was then totally lost with all the types and options
until finding a YouTube video by Terry Wolf [link] and his website [eCig Press Link] . His knowledge and no bull.... review/comparison
is what made my mind up to get the KR808D-1. So if you see this Mr. Wolf, thank you.
My search began looking for a good quality KR808 with good reviews, well packaged kits, all-in-one clean professional looking site to do business with lead me to Vapor4Life.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Website and Ordering...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Website is easy to get around and really like that there were reviews for just
about everything. Also like how account system allowed me to store multiple
shipping addresses.
Used the 10% discount code found on ECF though the day after ordering I got an
email offering 22%.
What I ordered..
* Ultimate Ultimatum Shorty Kit
* Short auto battery
* Tobacco Shop Sample 8mg
* Fruit Bowl Sampler 36mg
* Wowbacco 11mg
* Coffee 8mg
* Cuban Cigar 8mg
* Red Energy 8mg
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shipment/Packaging...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Placed my order Monday morning and received it that Wednesday. Packaging kind of
shocked me. V4L uses USPS bags to ship which are fine don't get me wrong but it
wasn't what I wanted to see my $130 purchase in, though everything was wrapped
in bubble wrap. (piclink)
Everything was accounted for although they had run out of black auto batteries so
I was sent a chrome one which I actually like better than black than black. I like
many others received some freebies which turned out to be very helpful. Tobacco
Shop ended up being 2 packs of 5 and the extras were 18mb which ended up being
my favorite flavors.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Product....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overall quality of the kit was good. Only thing I that I didn't like about it was
the wall charger cord being only about 1 foot long. The cord is a generic power
cord found on most electronics so no biggy. I stole the cord from my old Xbox.
I also would have like the kit to come with a little more info on how the charger leds work.
USB charger: Screw the battery in and the blue light turns red and kind of flickers every few seconds. It will turn purple when its almost done and then turn blue when charged.
PCC: screw it in and the red light comes on and goes out when its done.
Wall charger: Screw the battery in and the green light turns red and then turns back to green when its done.
I got the manual battery kits because a lot of the reviews leaned towards the manual
batteries because you can preheat/prime the carts before taking a drag which is very
true. After a few days with the manuals though I tried the auto and I kind of like not
having to hold a button. You can hold it in your mouth, vape and still use both
hands. I would recommend getting both if you can.
PCC I've only used once so that I could charge both my batteries at once. One on
the wall charger and one in the PCC. Other than that it does what its supposed to
The automatic USB pass-through took some getting used to as it seems it doesn't
have as much juice to quickly heat up the carts. This could using a different
style activator switch. After getting used to it, its mostly what I use to vape.
If you don't have one I highly recommend getting one. Also get yourself a car
charger that has a USB port so that you can plug your pass-through in while your in
the car. As stated in the short review I got a 2 port car adapter for $3
Carrying case is somewhat a no brainer, it carries 2 batteries and 4 carts. I do
wish it held the batteries a little tighter as they seem to spin around and I always
wonder if the button has been activated.
Lastly the box that the kit comes in has to be the most useful. Take all the
packaging out of it and then you can put your carts in it like a cigar box. I
have 4 cart boxes and the space left over just dumped the carts in. As long as
you keep your loose carts under the level of the boxes you can put your carrying
case right on top. All you need to do after that is put a rubber band around it
and you have all you need.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Performance....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Performance has been pretty good but it took some getting used to. Until recently I worked mostly in retail sales which meant a smoke break was not really a time to relax. Get your nicotine fix and get back to work. It became habit to suck a cigarette down with hard filter/paper wrinkling puffs.
With this KR808 I had to get used to going slow but quickly figured out that I could cover up most of the vent holes so that I had to suck pretty hard. Upside was I tended to get more vapor. Only problem is the carts get kind of hot doing this.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Carts & Flavor Reviews....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I know this flavor review will seem to bash V4L but its just my opinion and everyone has their own. Something I think is horribly gross you might think is heaven and visa versa.
I originally was going to start off with 18-24mg but after thinking about it I
decided I'd start low so that I didn't end up getting more nicotine than I was
getting smoking the real thing. So I picked 8mg and 11mg, which seems to be
doing ok but there are times that the freebie 18mg help. Not sure why I picked
36mg for the fruit bowl but its good I did cause I got an idea of how strong 36mg
was. I thought I was a hardcore smoker but 36mg takes my breath away. I have
used them though for when I was really craving the real thing.
So far none of the V4L flavors I got hit the spot for me. Most all of them seemed
very dry and a lot of them tasted the same. They also seem to go stale quicker than
I would have thought, yes I kept the 'condoms' on them. Even happened on most that
I had yet opened.
-- Tobacco Shop Sample 8mg --
-Cowboy - Metal flavor..
-Kamel - Not a Camel to me but good caramel flavor.
-Frenchpipe - cant put my finger on it but was not good at all.
-Virginia - Tasted a lot like RY4 but not as creamy. Good though just not the one.
-Parlament - A lot like the Dunhall dry bland flavor.. rubber..
-- Tobacco Shop Sample 2 18mg (my freebies) --
-Hilton - light and kind of peppery
-Kant - Liked the flavor of this and reminded me of a Marlboro Light.
-RY4 - Creamy vanilla but didnt seem to hold its flavor and would turn kind of like cardboard.
-555 - Decent flavor but nothing special. It did lead me to try the WOW 555.
-Dunhall - very dry and tastes a bit like rubber.
-- Fruit Bowl Sampler 36mg --
-Pear - Kind of tastes like pear but bland and a little flowery
-Pinapple - A little sweeter than pear but tastes about the same.
-Peach - Its peach and pretty good. But seems to go flat after a few puffs. I do
use this as my analog craving killer being its the better tasting 36mg cart.
-Banana - Hint of banana but more like a non-ripe greenish banana.
-Grape - If you like cough syrup this ones for you.. I gagged.
-- Cocktail Sampler 11mg --
-Margarita - grape-ish cough syrup flavor.. gross..
-Cognac - again grape-ish and like french pipe
-Pina Colada - broken
-Irish Cream - creamy-ish but gross
-Rum & Cola - RC Cola flavor is kind of there but not very good.
-- Menthol Sampler 18mg --
Not really a menthol fan, but I did smoke Newport for about a year. These all
have a VERY strong mint/menthol flavor. I'd say too much. I had to try these a few
days apart cause I would end up with a mint taste in my mouth for hours.
-Menthol - menthol.. but pretty strong
-Cool - about the same as the Menthol but lighter..
-Nuport - Listerine Cool Mint strips.. and that strong too. Not a Newport.
-Cowboy Menthol - I thought this would be more of a tobacco flavor than mint.. but it was all mint.
-Smilin Special - Pretty good. Tastes like your chewing spearmint gum
-- Simple Flavor Packs --
-WOWBoy 18mg - If you like chocolate and mint here you go.. think Thin Mints
-WowBacco 11mg - Mostly vaped this but abit too sweet / caramel. Not very flavorful.
-Red Cow / Red Energy 8mg - Its not Red Bull but has an ok fruity flavor.
-BlueBerry 11mg - Not really a blueberry to me. Kind of mediciney. I love all things blueberry but this just wasnt...
-Cuban Cigar 8mg - Its a cigar but not as bold as I would have thought 2 were broken.
-Coffee - Coco/hot chocolate, not coffee
-WOW-555 - Lightly burnt buttered popcorn. Nothing like the regular 555. I still vape some but.. yea
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The end
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Only issue now is finding that daily vape flavor. I did end up getting Halos Torque 56 which should be called pancakes with butter and syrup on top. Its been my daily vape and it is good but not what I expected from the name and description. Ill post a review on that in the right forum sometime later.
Ill taking up V4L latest coupon to get a small bottle of eliquid of the flavors I did somewhat like hoping maybe that will fix flavor issues I had.
That said I wish sellers offered something like 1ml samplers. Searching for the right flavor can get expensive with MOST only offering at the least 5ml for something like $6.
I plan on getting something more heavy duty that I can puff on harder. Something that I can take a 2-3 second hit and still get a good bit of smoke. Suggestions welcome.
Again sorry for the length and I hope this helps.
