Hey everyone,
I recently got my joytech Ego-T kit and love it. Anyways, I noticed that I am getting a metallic taste with some juices :(

I swapped to cartomizers, which fixed it, but I prefer the flavor and vapor of the tank.

Any way to rectify this metal taste in my smoke? If it helps anyone to diagnose the issue, I have noticed a really good throat hit when I get the metallic taste, even with liquids that do not usually give a throathit.

I'd be super happy if someone can help me enjoy my ego as much as I enjoyed my sun super 1300-t (gave it to my lil bro and he destroyed it in 1 day lol)

Hey, glad you are enjoying your new ego. I just got a LavaTube VV and love it. I am useing a high volt atomizer with drip tip at 4 to 4.4 volts and I love it compared to my old cig style automatic with cartomizers. Lasts me for days without a charge cause Im not a heavy user. Your ego must last a while too.
To answer your question - I don't have a tank system. The atomizer I have is a 510 not 510T. I did purchase a pack of CE3 Smokeymizers and they are a type of tank / cartomizer mix. I was getting the same results you are talking about. What I found was going on was that with thicker juices I woulkd get that taste but not with thinner PG based juice. The thick juice doesn't wick as fast so if you vape without wateing 30 sec between hits, the atty dries up to the point where you get that taste. I also find you get a lot of vapour and throat hit and I think its because the coil heats up faster/hotter because there is not enuph juice to cool it down. More harsh than good TH. Some of my juices would barely even wick but thats cause I like thick VG juice.
There is two things you can try to do. First is wait longer between vapes. Let the coil/wick soak up more juice between vapes. Not sure if waiting will work on a egoT system but worked for me with the CE3 cartomizers. You can do a check to see if this is going to work by dripping some e-juice directly onto your atomizer. up to 3 drops. Use a drip tip if you have one or else just replace cart and try it out. See if the taste is better for first few vapes. If so than thats the problem.
The other thing you can do is dillute your thicker juice with PG (propalyn glycol) or if you don't have that around you can use Vodka. Try 2% to 5% at first and add a bit at a time untill you reach the consistancy of the juices that are working for you. I add 10% to really thick juices or 1 drop Vodka to 9 drops juice. I find that Vodka doesn't really change the taste of my juices either, which is good. If you live in the states you can get higher proof alcohol like evergreen which I have been told works really good. I live in Canada so no luck finding anything like that for me.
Hope this helps, cheers, vape on
