Bad news for me :(

I was smoking and suddenly it was I like pulling without the button pressed down.. no vapor..

I looked at the screen: "Atomizer short"
It says that without an atomizer on there too.. should be saying 'No Atomizer Find' (chinglis)

I checked for spilled juice but found nothing out of the ordinay

Called store they told me to re-update the firmware and factory resetting.. but nothing worked..

At home I checked the resistance of the eVic itself with a multimeter and the brass positive pin makes 100% contact with the negative outer casing :(

Something inside must have shorted out :(

Hope I get a replacement.. its about 7 weeks old.. analogs are filthy and skunk up my car :(

~Trail.

(p.s. I wasn't allowed to post this in the eVic forum.)

Sorry Trail... Not having it.

You're not "forced" back on to cigarettes... you chose to smoke again rather than seek out a store that sells cig-a-likes, or a vape shop where you can pick up an eGo (or something) and keep vaping.

Not saying you're a bad person, lazy, a back-slider or any other derogatory descriptors... just saying that you had choices. Maybe I'm wrong... maybe in Holland, cig-a-likes or vape shops are non-existent. If thats the case, I apologize for my initial verbal

Best of luck getting your "kit" back in order. Maybe consider an emergency back-up to the, seemingly too often problematic, eVic?

Did you try pulling the center contact UP?
Sounds like the grommet got crushed and failed.

No backup batteries?
Rule one for any Vaper - Backup for your Backups - Even a Provari owner will tell you this.:)

Hope you took the battery out.
Keep it out until you can get a NO short reading on your meter or and okay to return it.
Have you tested the top device for an actual short causing the initial message?

Not much to short inside:

Pushing the pin down too far can either make the head not get contact or short out, even on the big units..try this

Do you carry spare clearos/cartos/tanks/coils?

The eVic ain't no slouch (actually one of the best APV's out)...if you have a serviceable head on it, try washing it out really good...I have even taken some of my wifes sewing pins and using a flashlight actually stretch the coils out on the wick (need good light and a steady hand)

One way to tell if it's a short due to the head or the rig itself..take the head off...if it still stays short, its the rig, if it says open, its the coil on the head (also it's good to have an external multimeter so you can double check for shorts and resistance with a 2nd testing device, you can get them pretty cheap from FT or other China wholesaler sights (deal extreme, ahappydeal...yadda yadda)

And as others have said..get backups for your backups of your backups

Sorry for your predicament...good luck

I have never seen a vape shop in Holland.. I heard about one in a small town.. but never actually found one myself..

I'm back to eVic in about three days.. when I will receive my replacement..

My backup should have been a Ego-VV V2 1300mah from fasttech but it's still in transit (for about 3-4 weeks now)..

The center pin seems to be just a flat brass pin wich is not spring loaded, I asked the store to confirm this fact and they say its not spring loaded so theres nothing to pry loose.. but I've tried anyway.. I just can't see anything wrong that might cause the shortcut that's why I say it must be happening inside..

I looked up joyetech.nl and not the shop but the office is located in a town called Gorichem and I have to go there for work today, in my lunch break I will call them and ask if they can help me, maybe I can pickup a replacement from them.. but won't get my hopes up.. else I will buy the easy head for the eVic if I can, as a backup to get me by..

Everyone should have at least 1 mechanical mod for backup IMHO.

It's well worth the $20+.

Funny, because the SID is the backup for my mechs LOL.

A cheap route, the SID control head is $35 from madvapes. Confirmed this morning that its a DIRECT replacement for the eVic control head. Maybe you can order 1-2 SID control heads, and keep them in your backup kit.

Luckily for me my backup arrived :) An Ego-V v2 VV Mega and it works like a charm too :)

I've called the store about the eVic and told them there was no resolution from firmware updates and factory resets..

They told me to send the control head in and they will send a new control head back.

I've sent the head today, they will receive tomorrow, and send one back to me, wich I will receive in two days from now..

I'm pretty confident I can make it for two days with the new 1300mah Ego-V v2 VV, wich btw goes up to 6 volts compared to 5v on the eVic. Not sure i'd need it, and im sure the amps/watts are more limited on this Ego compared to the eVic..

So far the taste seems similar on similar settings with the same tanks.. but can't compare side by side now..

All in all, im extra happy this fasttech package finally arrived :)
