1.5-2 ppp smoker desperate to regain some pulmonary function and not continue my slow cigarette suicide, bought Blu Cig

Immediately reduced to 4 cigarettes a say. The cartomizers get HOT, the more you draw on them. I got second degree burns on my tongue, then, redirecting the vaper outlet to avoid the tongue, I ended up with second degree burn on the back of my throat. I had no choice but to return to smoking more cigarettes and decrease the Blu while I made an apt with my ENT and searched for a different kind of ecig that I thought might not burn my throat.

Now, I think I'm saving my life by using ecigs, but the cartomizers temperature goes WAY ABOVE the vaporization point of VG, the more you draw on the ecig. Burning oral tissue is known to cause cancer, so if you use an ECG like Blu which has a battery and then the cartomizer, you risk burning your mucosa unless you use it gently. I'm a heavy smoker, this would not be enough for me.

I found the Janty Neo. I bought this one because the battery can be manually controlled, they use a puromizer followed be a mouthpiece. There is a ring you can adjust to regulate how much air you can mix in with the vapor. It uses PG, which I felt was the lesser of two evils as its vaporization point is lower thanVG.

I have not smoked one cigarette since I started using the Janty Neo. I am not burning my mouth or throat. It's everything I thought it would be, so I highly recommend it. I've been using it for 11+ days now and enjoying it immensely.

Their manual has a paucity of information. Thanks to this forum I found out a lot of things, others I had to figure out myself.

Otherwise it's a really fine vape.

Been using Blu for several months and have never had a hot carto. It got me off analogs. They have a shorter draw limit than most 808's and Volt and vape at a similar voltage. Their Carto's are 2.4 ohm (measured with my ohm meter) so they are not LR.

I did have discomfort from my Kgo with LR carto's getting too warm but a mouth piece and taking off the cone to promote heat disapation solved that. I stress that it was just discomfort and NOT burning me. The Kgo with a LR and a much longer draw limit can potentially heat the carto much more than a Blu. I just can't see how I could get 2nd degree burns with a low powered limited device like the Blu.

I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with Blu. Sounds terrible.

I had an opposite experience. I found Blu to be the perfect beginner pv. I smoked Blu for about 2 months before I moved on to something more potent and after I did my research. The only problems I experienced were a couple dud carts.

But, meh. Not everybody is going to have the same bad or good experience with any e cig setup.

My son came home with V2, and we were jealous, so we went to Walgreens and purchased Blu disposables....they paled in comparison to my son's new e-cigarette. So, we ordered, and waited, and it was so worth the wait. I didn't find that Blu would have been one that could replace analogs, but V2 at the time did. So, since, I have been doing a lot of "shopping", and have found quite a few good deals, many in thanks to this ECF forum! So, I continue on my quest for the best deal, to realize the most savings!

I suppose it depends on how much and how often you draw on it. I've got three batteries and all three can heat the cartomizer up significantly depending again on how deep and how often I draw on it. And they can get HOT.
Pulled out my Blu from retirement and gave it a try.
No luck on getting burnt here. I tried chain vaping it hitting it's time limit on every draw. Yes the carto got warm, but not nearly warm enough to cause burning. Unless your battery is defective and not limiting the "on" time, I can't see how it could produce 2nd degree burns at that low a wattage.
