My experience with Reo Mini

Reo mini was my first Mod. I ordered it and had no idea that it doesn't come with batteries or a charger. There was nothing on the website to inform new customers what all was needed to use it.
I ended up not ordering the batteries for about another 2 months after getting my Reo. I just kept using my ecig during that time.

Finally I ordered the batteries and charger, and got excited again about the Reo. I went on this forum to say how excited I was to finally be getting it up and running. Everyone wished me well, glad to have another new Reo user, etc. Seems everyone on here keeps going on about how great the Reo is, and how SO great Rob is, with his great customer service and everything.

I got my batteries and got the Reo up and running. Yes, I was blown away. It vapes like a dream. I was so excited to have found this, and I wanted to tell all my friends about how great it is.

I mentioned on the forum that it would be better if the Reosmods.com site would tell what all is required to use the Reo. Battery, charger, etc.. that is some feedback for Rob, and I also mentioned that a couple of the atty that Reosmods.com sent me were DOA- Dead on Arrival- not working at all.

The attys were not a big deal. I have lots of atty already, so I didn't even notice about these attys not working until about 2 months after I got them, when I finally tried to use them. I never asked Rob to replace them. It's not a big deal to me. Rob saw my post in the forum, and offered to send me new attys right away, just PM him my contact info. Ok I thought, what a nice guy.

Here is where the trouble starts. I PM him my info, and thank him again for such a wonderful product (the Reo), and for offering to replace the dead attys. His reply, was that I shouldn't be asking him to replace dead attys after 2 months! He says not even wal-mart lets you return something after 2 months. Hello? I did not ask him to replace anything! Just because he OFFERED to replace it, and asked for my info in PM, that is why I responded.

Back on the forum, my original thread (titled: New reo mini) , he says he "wont be playing my game" and tells me to "run along". Then he closed the thread. That is just outrageous that he can talk to a customer like that. I certainly will "run along"... to other venders. As much as I like the Reo, I will not give my money to someone who is insulting me!

Rob, its time for you to learn something about customer service! It is almost inconceivable, that in 1 day I could go from being thrilled by such a wonderful product, to being revolted every time I look at this thing. Like I've been saying, I don't care about the attys! I was not even trying to return them! It is entirely about your attitude. You need to be professional at all times when talking to your customers!

I think most of you have had good experiences dealing with Rob, you're the lucky ones. As for me? Time to "run along"..

This medium of communication brings out the worst in some folks and they derive satisfaction from throwing rocks at a hornet's nest.

Perhaps your intentions were misinterpreted. Perhaps not.

Some folks see Rob's success and automatically want to knock him down a peg. The anonymity offered by the internet emboldens folks like that.

Rob leads the pack in customer service, despite your claims.

If you weren't taken seriously, consider this: Who pays $150+ for a mod and doesn't research it first? Who buys a mod and tables it for 2 months because they didn't know about the batteries and charger it requires? Answer: No reasonable person.

And just to head off any silly drama, this will be my first and last post in this thread. I won't respond to any counter arguments. Sorry you had a bad experience.

I have no idea if the following information from Rob's site has always stated the items that are not included. However when I first started vaping and bought my first Reo I didn't expect there would be any extras included in the price of a mod of that quality. I find what you say upsetting as I have NEVER known Rob to be anything but kind and generous at all times.

The REO Grand is milled out of block aluminum and is 100% mechanical, this means no wires. The benefit is a nearly indestructible unit that can take a beating, and a washing too. The REO Grand carries a 6ml bottle on board (and comes with one extra bottle) that holds your ejuice. It runs on one AW IMR 18650 3.7 volt battery, two 3 volt batteries, or one 5 volt battery, making this a very versatile device. Batteries, ejuice, chargers, and atomizers/cartomizers are not included."

I shouldn't respond...but I will...

I'm coming up on 2 years vaping and I've bought A LOT of mods in that time and I can tell you I've NEVER had a mod purchase include batts and a charger. Some vendors do offer them on their site for an additional charge, but I've never had them included as part of the original purchase.

Now, regarding not knowing what batts/charger to purchase so your REO sat for 2 months...really? How did you find the REO to begin with? I know vaping is more mainstream now than it once was, but I still think people find devices through friends and forums that can help you with the purchase of batts/chargers for a particular device.

However, I will assume you stumbled onto the reomods.com website on your own with no help from anyone so that you were in the dark about accessories.
On the top of the reo homepage, there is a "contact us" tab. You would have had info to contact Rob and ask him any questions you may have had about the purchase of accessories. If that's not enough, there are links at the bottom of the REO homepage to ECF and a direct link to the REO subforum on ECF that include "stickies" which include purchase information for anything anyone would need to operate a REO.

Was none of that helpful to you?

Ah, threads like this are what I really missed being away for so long.

This fella is probably next in line to sue McDonalds because no one informed him verbally that his coffee would be "hot".

I'll be the first one to call out shenanigans when it comes to a bogus retailer, and Rob is nothing but OVERLY helpful and professional in emails and PM's to ensure people are vaping happy. I am not an easy customer to please, and I now have 3 REOS.

Another example of ECF members being a class act! There could have been over 1000 posts here flaming the person that never researched what he was about to buy. Instead, you see CLASS! For those of you that are new and reading this, PLEASE ask questions if you have any, they WILL be answered by some of the nicest and most helpful people here on the forum.

I have asked questions about the REO's and the Woodvills. Every one has always been answered by people more knowledgeable than I was. I have no complaints about the mods or Rob. There are threads on this forum and in the Reo subforum with information to help people out. Rob has sent me magnets when I lost one out of one of my doors. I only posted asking where I could buy replacements for the magnet. I have no complaints. I think the Reonauts are one of the most helpful group of people.

On the main page, as well as in the description on the mods themselves it is very clear what batteries are needed. I saw it quite easily....I don't understand why this guy can't. When I was first starting out with vaping ANY mod I was interested in was researched to death before I took the leap to buy it. I knew damn well what I was getting into, which is why I was determined to get a reo.

If he is expecting to garner any sympathy for his experience he isn't going to find it here. A bit of class and owning up to his responsibility for the entire situation would have made this a completely different outcome.
