Right now my favorite atomizer is my original 901 from a starter kit. I direct drip it all the time and it produces crazy, great tasting vapor. I protect it and keep it close by because the other 8 or so i have gotten just don't get anywhere close to what it can do. I never clean it, or dry burn it, or soak it in vodka or soda, or boil it, or let it drain overnight, or any these rituals that people supposedly find helpful -- the thing just flat-out kicks .... It has a heavy pull like there is some build up in there, like a thickness -- never any gurgling or splashing, and if i get too much juice, it just leaks out a bit and is otherwise fine. Sometimes i feel like it's a one in million perfect atomizer and i have lucked out and maybe it will never die.

So like everyone else, i ordered a bunch more to have back ups when this one dies.

Well, all the other ones seem to flat -out suck. Minimal vapor. Gurgling. Splashing. Liquid in the mouth (TWSS) and it seems they will never be like my "baby."

Then i remembered, for the first week of using electric vaporizers, i was just using the carts, the plain old chinese junky tobacco carts that come with the kits, then i figured out basically that i needed to use drip + cart to get a good result. So for the first two weeks i was using carts, but also dripping -- keeping both the atomizer wet as well as the cart filler. After i found the carts were not really nessesary, i just tailpipe dripped or used a drip tip and was very satisfied.

So right now i am trying an experiment on one of my new 510 atomizers. I am using the old-school carts that came with a kit, and finding it surprisingly good! Not the clouds I get from my trusty ole 901, but not bad! At least consistent with no splashing etc. My theory is that some new atomizers do not like to be dripped right away. I have ordered a bunch, and they seem to flake out on me. when i blow them out, then drip in 4 drops of juice, and they produce poor vapor, gurgle, splash, etc.

So i will keep up this experiment to see if this is what i did to really break in that first atomizer, and get my others to behave the same way.

If anyone else has advice in this matter please share!

I agree, a good brokin-in atty is a GREAT atty!

When one DOES burn out, which Im lucky to say doesnt happen TOO often, I break it in by doing a few sessions w/3.7v, then hit it at 5-6v for a realllllly good break in then its usually good to go at any voltage! :)

Also, if I have an atty that is workin kinda shabby at 3.7v, I zap it w/6v and it seems to do the trick and then I can vape it at any voltage w/in reason for a long time.

The atty Im on now has been going well over 2 1/2 months!
