I made my first batch of DIY liquid a couple of days ago. Here are the recipes that I followed.

RY4
10% FA RY4
5% FW Caramel Candy
5% FA Vienna Cream

This smells good but has a sort of alcohol flavor on the exhale. Needs steeping I guess?

Peaches & Cream
10% FA Peach
2% FA Vienna Cream
Ethyl Maltol .5%

This didn't have that awesome fresh peach flavor that I was going for. It's not bad, but not quite what I was hoping for. I also made another batch but with FA Strawberry.

So, I'm assuming that the juices just need to steep to bring out the flavor. Is this a pretty normal experience for a first batch?

Sometimes adding a Drop of Cherry or Pineapple to a mix like this can give it "Pop".

For me, there are Very Few fruit Flavors/Blends that work well using a Single Fruit Flavor. Adding a drop of Pineapple can many times "Wake Up" a Mix. And adding a drop of something like Pear can "Tone it Down".

Whatever you do New Mix Wise, you should Always Test if after you Mix it. Then let it "Steep" and try it Again BEFORE you make any changes.

That, and Keep Detailed and Accurate Records of Everything you Do.

Arguably this formula is flawed
RY4
10% FA RY4
5% FW Caramel Candy
5% FA Vienna Cream

In my opinion flavoring has a top note and a bottom note.
I look at 80%-90% of the flavor to come from the Bottom Notes and around 10%20% of the flavor to come from the top notes
Otherwise you get flavors colliding and cancelling themselves out.
Just for fun try the below recipe and see if it tastes better, I'd be curious to know.
18% FA RY4
1% FW Caramel Candy
1% FA Vienna Cream

Cool. I'll try adding a drop or two of second fruit to my next mix. They are already starting to smell a little better.

Sounds good.

But just Remember this Rue.

Sounds like very good recipes. I have found that the tobaccos usual improve with steeping as well as most darker juices. My fruit mixes seem to be shake and vape. Isn't it a lot of fun. Good luck to you and happy mixing. This may be just me but I stopped putting sweeteners in my juices because I feel like there is much less gunk on the coils and they last longer. Could really just be me. But I did not miss it in the simple juices I make. Just my :2c:. Have fun.
