Well I was inspired by others on here to try my hand at this. I have been hanging out in the DIY ejuice forum for awhile, made a couple USB passthroughs and played with different power to go devices.

Well here is my first battery mod, I used a $2.99 pill container from the pharmacy, and drilled out the top and added a 901 connector and led. After a little fignegalling (small space to work in) I got the top working and used a epoxy resin to hold everything in place.
All the parts:

Partially assembled, I used a VCR mom switch for the on off button, works great. LOL and the LED out of the same busted VCR.

Side by side my original 901, about the same size, just a little heavier, I can hold it in my mouth with out the weight bothering me.

I used a 18350 battery I had, until I figured out it was unprotected. I have 16340's comming in, alsmost the same size .1v less and 1mm less but has a PCB so I should be good!

Well this is my first hope you like it!

Like it? I love it!

Pefect size.
So, where did you get the pill box (what pharmacy)?
Where did you get that swtich?

I've been wanting a larger batt but without growing the length to the end of my arm and this is perfect.

It looks metal (conductive) so I am guessing you were able to use the shell for the negative connection - yes?

Nice job!

Clean and sweet, very good first mod Scuba. I'd subdue the LED if it were pointed at my face like yours is but that's just a matter of functioning aesthetics and is expected to vary person to person. Very well thought out design.

Good reason to wear sunglasses at night! LOL

Well my 400lb mill and metal lathe were just sitting there begging to be used LOL, worse than the kids!
Appreciate the kind words!

Wow Dan, if this is your first mod I can't wait to see what's next. Very clean and well designed. Those of us who don't have the heavy duty tools can only drool.

Just an FYI/safety tip I read on the batt modder forum.

Li Ion batts vent (from the positive terminal) when they fail, even protected ones. Several posts talk about drilling vent holes in the body of the mod to help that process should it occur.

Thanks for the tip will keep that in mind!
