Ok I had one that I did not epoxy yes so I pulled it apart and took pictures, here they are:

This is the pill fob/bottle I got.

Notice the plastic inserts, remove these, but save the top one for later. That will hopd the circular circuit board we cut out and solder a spring to.

Inserts removed
IMAG0007.jpg

Simple spring in the bottom of the bottom piece.
IMAG0008.jpg

Spring soldered to the round piece of circuit board I cut out. I also connected the + wire from the back side where the spring connects to the switch.
IMAG0009.jpg

Ok, inside, notice the wire from the spring runs to the switch then it continues to the center of the 901 connector. The - side is the case, so there are only two wires to solder. The LED is also connected to the opposite side of the switch and grounded to the case. This peticular one does not have an LED.

Inserting the circuit board with spring into the plastic cut down top insert.
IMAG0011.jpg

Tada one with an LED working in front of my stash :p

Hope this helps

Amazon has these in colors but they have a few sizes, how big is this one and could it be even smaller?
https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_...ps&field-keywords=pill+bottle&sprefix=pill+bo

Not sure how to add the link...

[URL]https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_5_7?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=pill+bottle&sprefix=pill+bo

The one I have is 7/8" (22mm) x 2 1/4" (59mm)
It will accomidate a battery 19mm x 35mm , the 18350 work perfect but they are unprotected, so I am using the 16340 which is 1mm skinnier and 2mm shorter.

Thank you Scubabatdan for all the information and help !!

No problem hope it helped.

This has to be the smallest mod yet. Great find! Do you plan to sell these? he he.. 1 battery case,2 16340 batteries, charger, 2 atomizers, 10ml of juice, and 50 Centrum Vitamins all for the low low price of $149.99. You could be rich... lol... I bet you would sell the heck out of em. Call it the Popper or something catchy like that... he he ...

BTW... really nice mod man and love your flavoring rack. Did you get that as a kit? And I use your spreadsheet a lot. Thanks...

Great name for the mod, "The Popper" of course it will be sold with ......! LOL Hadnt planned on selling them but I have had ALOT of interest online as well as local. Got the flavor rack for 6.00! from the pharmacy through the Basic Vitamins web site. Notice they have Lorann flavors for 1.25 a dram! Cheaper than Loranns wed site go figure.
Thanks for the comments!

Added:
Hmmmm just had a thought, it would be easy to change this to the RCA connector setup. The wheels are turning now. Add 3 adapters for any of the attys used and it is perfect. Will have to try this.

More to follow.

Hi Dan

Do you know what the switch rcurrent atings are? The current will typically be around 1A or so and I would imagine those VCR switches are not rated particularly high. They may work for a while but there may be a reliability issue in the longer term. It's a nice job you have made however and is a lot smaller than the one I made using an old laser pointer body.

Steve

The mom switch was a small round (not square) VRC mom switch for play, pause ect... their were 12 on the front control panel of the broke VCR.

Hope this helps.
Dan

ADDED:

Yes the body is aluminum, and the case is the ground. Only one wire to worry about.

Well the switches themselve have no marking indicating rating. The daughter card says 5v dc but no amp rating. I have been using these for 3 months now and my primary PV has one on it I use constantly with no failure. I am actually suprised as I would have figured they would have died by now.

I did start another top and took pictures of the inside as I put in the LED and switch and how I wired it.
Placing in the LED, I dab a small drop of super glue on the base of the LED and push it into place, then bend the negative leg down into position, and solder to the connection - side. I then solder the red wire from the center to the LED + leg:
IMAG0020.jpg

Next I cut the + LED leg about 1/8" from the side. I then dab a bit of super glue on the switch housing and set into place. I then soldered the LED leg and switch leg together, and run the red wire to the circuit board with the spring soldered onto it.

Hope this helps seeing the wiring better, very clean I must say.
Only thing left is to add my two part epoxy over the switch and LED so the do not move later and set the battery contacts into place.

Ok, in the last post I said I was thinking about trying to add the PVMA (RCA Jack) to this mod. Well here is it.

First I needed the atty to battery connection, I turned the RCA barrel on my lathe and found after I mic'd it several times that .4" was a perfect fit, the RCA end touched the battery connection:

Assembled:
IMAG0029.jpg

Ok here is the inside, I was lazy and decided not to add a LED, but the previous posts pics show how to add one. The hole is smaller for the RCA female end, notice the nut holding in place, and the positive wire going to the battery spring connector.

Assembly of both the top and the atty:

Size differance between the original and the now universal popper mod, (Ignore the clutter in the background :)
IMAG0027.jpg

Well that is it, it worked like I envisioned, thanks to everyone that came before me to make this an easy to build mod.
Hope this helps another fellow modder!
Dan
