Well this is my first battery mod . It's a simple flashlight mod. It Is set up as a 3.7 v right now but there is enough room for Stacked cr2 's or 123's for 6 volt . Comments and suggestions are more than welcome . Picture 010.jpg

Nice looking Flashlight mod. The switch looks nice you did a fine job on your first battery mod.
What size battery is it using now? Looks like it could be 18650 size? That`s my next possible mod, a flashlight using a 18650. Like I need another mod but I don`t have one of those and my abused soldering iron still works.

14500 batteries are good in a flashlight mod but seem to weaken towards the end of my day. Sounds like the flashlight mod I have. A 18650 would work but very very close to not.

Stacking batteries I have no trouble with but actually haven`t used the cr`2 type battery.
If they are protected I would do it myself but would not use if they are unprotected.

So far I`ve only had one time I had trouble with a battery. 10440 when making the U. V. O. mod. It cut the end protective coating and made contact so dead ground within the battery. The battery got hot smelled and just was no good any longer.

Thanks . Right now I am using a 14500 . A 18650 is just a bit long for this configuration . I could move the contact plate or shorten the spring and make it work but at this point the 14500 is ok . I want to stack 2 cr2 's but I have heard some bad things about doing that . Have you ever done that and if so how did it work ?

The wife and I have "stacked" for almost two yrs. We have never had an issue. Of coarse I meter the batts, and take extra caution. GREAT looking mod by the way, and nice to meet ya !!

Just wanted to add one safety issue with this stacking thing. Vent holes. It is wise to have them for the just incase things went bad scenario.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...s/76078-exploding-mods-current-situation.html

Found in that link
"
Gas vent holes
Holes must be drilled to vent the gas that might result from heavy charging or a short-circuit.
A minimum of two holes are required, each of which must be of 2mm diameter or larger.
Radially-drilled holes are preferred to holes in the end of the casing, since if they are in the end then the mod will be propelled strongly in the opposite direction, perhaps toward the face. Radial holes (holes around the outside, probably at the lower end), are preferable as they will not impart any thrust during a gas vent incident."

:toast: on safety
