Agree, I hope he'll enjoy it too. It just seemed like too much work and when it worked it was too airy, so as long as the Penny works out I'll be happy. I'm keeping in touch with the buyer so I can learn from his experience.

I think the draw is a bit too airy on the ZAP, and a bit too tight on the DUD. I would like something inbetween. I've heard of people using JB weld to fill the hole on the ZAP and redrill to the size they prefer, that may be an option for me also.
About half way through that second tank a had a few drags with the funky flavor again so when I drained the tank I gave it a good bath in soapy water, scrubbed it with a q-tip. The third tank has been very good, I'm about half way through it and it still doesn't have the complexity of flavor my DUD has, but I can tell it's better/cleaner now after the wash down. I also used my thumb to block off part of the air hole to see if the changed anything and it did give it a more intense flavor, but also a big reduction in vapor.
If they are going to ship these with a wick and coil all set up they should also be giving them a wash so they are true almost ready to use. If they need to be washed they should ship them in pieces ready to be washed. JMHO!

Regarding cleaning the atty, you don't have to remove the wick or coil. All you need to do is remove the top cap and the top o ring and slide the tank off. Run the atomizer under hot water and dry it, then give it a dry burn to get the wick dry and adjust the coils until they're glowing evenly. Put the tank back on, fill it, and go. It can be a quick and painless process.
Thats what I did, I thought about pulling the wick and coil, but decided to leave it in place.
I don't even remove the tank; I just add and remove water via the syringe (2 or 3 times until the water comes out colorless), let the water wick up the atomizer a bit, and then burn away any juice that didn't wick off. I find this method to be quick, easy, and effective.

Got my Penelope today, 100 million times better experience out of the box (for me). I'm hoping the Zap works out for the buyer so everyone is happy.
Well now that I have quite a few tanks through the ZAP and DUD I can say I prefer the flavors I get out of the DUD. Crazy I know but the $20 DUD in my opinion has better flavor than the $150 ZAP. The DUD also seems to produce thicker vapor.
I'm not ready to jump ship on the ZAP yet though, maybe rewicking and recoiling it will improve performance for me.

Who setup the DUD, you did. Who setup the ZAP, ???? Exactly. Throw out that mass produced crap wick and coil and build one yourself.
Well I got bored last night and had a go at improving my ZAP. Nothing I tried last night was working out, gave it another try tonight and first try I got a nice wick and 1.8ohm coil. It's working well and the flavor is really good this time still not quite as intense as the DuD but almost, maybe it will improve after a tank or two, we'll see. Yep, it's good!
Mine came today. I got it up and running with no problem but this draw is more airy than I anticipated. I'm getting flavor but I think that the wide open draw is what's muting it. I'm going to give it a fair chance but as of right now.. I've got to say I like my did clone and my drunker tank better. 
I used one of the two pieces of mesh from my DuD to make a wick for the ZAP and it is much better than the skimpy wicks that come with the ZAP.
Mine is doing better as I use it and get used to it. I wondered if a fatter wick might work better for me.
I just got an ERA and it works even better than the Penny, I almost want to try the ZAP again to see if I can get it to work right
