Hello all. Last night I ventured into real DIY for the first time. I ordered some VG, 36mg PG as my nic base and a couple of lorann flavors to start with. The flavors I started with are the naturals banana, naturals cherry, and the super strength peach. For those that aren't familiar with the naturals line over at loranns they are VG based all natural flavors but it does say they are only half the strength of the regular flavors they offer but I figured they are natural and VG based sounds perfect for vaping right?

Going in I knew that I liked VG based liquids, usually 80/20vg/pg, using 20% 36mg PG that puts my nic to around 7mg/ml which is fine with me. I started out using 20% flavoring with all of them and the peach is awesome at this mix ratio, in fact its one of the best juices I've ever had, I will keep trying it as it steeps but it tastes pretty good right after mixing and I will be ordering a 5oz bottle of that from loranns soon.

The banana and cherry have little flavor though. I started at 20%-no flavor, 40%-no flavor, then I then I vaped it straight out of the bottle (remember its VG based and as little to no alcohol and all natural ingredients) and there is a little flavor...the banana is more of a sweetness with just a touch of banana flavor the cherry is about the same. I'm not sure if its just the VG that tastes sweet or the flavors. Keep in mind I'm well aware that the flavors can and will change as it steeps so I'm going to mix up some 5ml bottles of both of them and just use the flavoring as my VG and add 1ml of my 36mg PG to get a 80/20 7mg mix and I will try it as it steeps and keep everyone posted. I want these naturals to work and even if I have to use 100% flavoring as my VG its worth it. They both smell awesome and if the cherry tasted the way it smells the hunt for the all elusive "good" cherry flavor would be over for me.

Only time will tell...

Welcome to the world of DIY. The lorann Naturals are so new I don't know much about them. High VG sometimes mutes juice thats why I go with a 50/50 mix. Its thick, I get great vapor but I can also taste juice. Of course ratio is a personal preference.

I would suggest mixing it and give it some steep time, maybe thats all it needs for the flavors to ripen.

Start with lower percentages. Too much flavoring can mute flavors just as much as too little. Mix a batch at 5% and 10%, only 3ml. Let the bottles sit in some warm (not hot) water with the cap off until the water cools. Then cap them and let them steep. Give them a try every 12 hours or so and see what you find.

It seems very rare that people use a flavoring above 20 percent.

I read a couple other threads about using the lorann naturals and people were having the same problem. With the peach i went by the flavoring guide sticky and it shows a typical mix of 20-25%. I like stronger flavors but did start on the low side and work up. I hot water steeped for an hour then tried them after 24hrs and the peach was awesome but the naturals just didnt have any flavor. I mixed the new batch using only flavoring as my VG base so its 80% flavoring!. The banana tastes pretty good, cherry is still kinda meh. They are steeping now though so I will see what some time does.

I've just recently ventured into using organic alcohol based extracts with 100% VG nic and am loving it. The alcohol base gives a nice throat hit and the flavors aren't muted. You can get the Natures Flavors organic extracts from One Stop DIY Shop and High Desert Vapes. :) I haven't tried alot of them but so far they have me very interested and I just ordered more of their other flavors to try :)
