Hello everyone!
I got my 401 in the mail last Thursday, but I've been holding off on posting until I could get a better grip on what I wanted to say and to give myself the time to learn how to use this thing.
I began with a few tentative puffs about 1:15 am Friday morning, March 27. My inital thoughts were, "Oh my God! This thing really works!". Needless to say I was delighted.
My brother came home from work about two hours later. He of course wanted to try my new toy. He was equally astonished. Then he asked me, "How long has it been since you've had a "real" cigarette?". I looked at him puzzled by the question. Then I realized I had gone 2 hours without even thinking about an analog. LOL
My first few days haven't been easy. The first 24-48 hours was spent learning how to vape and not suck out juice. Now after 72+ hours, I'm vaping like I've done it all my life.
FOR OTHER NEWBIES: Just because you consider yourself a "heavy" smoker, pay attention to what you are smoking, eg. non-filters, regulars, lights, ultra lights, etc.
I considered myself a heavy smoker because I smoked 2 packs a day for several years. However, I smoked two packs a day of "ultra light" cigs. I ordered some Apple carts in 18 mg and some Peach juice in 16 mg. Both of these caused a tremendous throat hit and made me buzz after a few puffs. A trip to the hobby store (cake making section) for some glycerin and flavoring and I'm back on board. I simply diluted the juice a bit and I can now puff away without the major throat hit OR feeling all jittery from the nic buzz.
My suggestions for beginners ( no matter what model):
Be patient and persistant. It doesn't come easily, but you WILL get the hang of it.
Don't bother with the pre-filled carts. Order "blank" carts and Juice: one in a semi high mg and another (the same flavor) in a zero nic. Than dilute them together to get the nic level you need. With them both being the same flavor, you can dilute to your hearts content and not lose flavor.
I'm not completely an official "non-smoker" yet, but I've drastically cut down. From 2 packs a day I'm down to just a handfull 2-5 smokes a day. Unbelievable!
