Hi everyone! It's great to have a forum for this. I first learned about e-cigarettes about a week ago (I don't know what rock I've been living under). I saw an online ad for e-cigarettes and clicked on it because I thought it was an online cigarette smoking game (I never click on those ads but that’s how much I liked smoking). After googling it for hours I wanted one immediately!

My history:
I smoked 1 pack of Marlboro lights a day for 19 years (wow that feels like a long time). The day I tried my first cigarette I was hooked. I immediately began smoking about ½ to 1 pack a day when I was 14 and I’m 29. I was a daily smoker and couldn’t live without analogs. I even smoked when I was sick or had bronchitis. Not smoking for a whole day was very rare and made the day feel like an eternity. The longest I ever quit was for about a year and a half. I didn’t feel right when I didn’t smoke. I liked smoking so much that I finally decided that I never wanted to give it up. It always helped me through some very hard times. The patch, gums, etc. never worked for me because I like delivering my nicotine through the lungs so it can get absorbed into the brain faster.

My first e-cig:
After spending about 5 hours a night for 2 nights researching e-cigs I was completely sold on the idea and wanted one ASAP! I knew that buying it locally would be a rip off, but I had some holiday cash that I would have blown on something stupid anyway so I figured why not just blow it on buying an overpriced e-cig. The only retailer I could find was Smoking Everywhere, but I found out that they moved out (or were evicted) of 2 local area malls (Willowbrook Mall Wayne and Garden State Mall Paramus). I knew from my research that the place was overpriced and had bad service but I wasn’t looking for a long term model…I was just looking to get one to try IMMEDIATELY…lol.

I called their 1-800 number and used their live chat on their web site and they told me about a mall about 45 minutes away that has a kiosk (Palisades Center Mall NY). The live chat operator even disconnected me in the middle of typing. I drove 45 minutes each way Friday night and again on Saturday afternoon and couldn’t find the kiosk. People that I asked would either tell me that they moved to another floor or that they left completely. I gave up looking there because the company totally SUCKS! If I wanted to order an e-cig online I knew not to order from them online because I could get better models for less money, but he point was to get it right away.

So I decided to try a smoke shop in NYC. They sell bongs and other “tobacco” paraphernalia so I figured it was a safe bet. Apparently NYC is cracking down on e-cigs and I only found one retailer after miles of walking and hours of my time. It was the E Health Cigarette and I grossly overpaid a whopping $79, but again this isn’t the point. I just really wanted to try it to see if e-cigs were everything I thought they would be.

The E Health Cigarette E-Cig Review:
The model sucks (as I expected). The battery doesn’t last long at all. I can only get about an analog worth of vapor out of each charge. I solved the problem with an AC/DC inverter for the car and I’m really never anywhere that I can’t charge it up between vapes. The throat hit was pretty decent and satisfied me as a Marlboro Light smoker. The E Health is an automatic, but I’m used to taking primer puffs with analogs because we have “self-extinguishing” cigarettes mandated in my state and the surrounding states. Sometimes I have to re-light an analog in the middle of smoking it because of that.

My first few days of vaping:
When I first got it, the battery wasn’t so bad and it let me vape away. I got carried away with it and overdid it because it was a new gadget and I could feel I had more nicotine than usual (I’m familiar with the feeling and have experienced it with analogs) except I didn’t have the chest congestion, sinus problems, and cough associated with overdoing analogs. I smoked two analogs the night after I got it (because the battery was dead and I’m such a nicotine fiend that I couldn’t wait for it to charge). I also had two analogs the next day (because the battery died and I hadn’t yet bought an inverter for the car). I had not desire whatsoever for an analog unless the e-cig was broken down. In fact, I didn’t even like the analogs when I smoked them. I HAD to have them because I’m that bad of a nicotine addict, but the e-cig totally eliminated any desire to ingest a burning tobacco leaf.

My general thoughts:
Vaping is the coolest thing in the world!
It will most certainly extend my life.
You have to at least have a slight interest in gadgets to truly appreciate them.
Vaping e-cigs is sometimes more like smoking pot (I don’t smoke pot) than it is analogs because when your juice is kicked your hits have much less throat hit. Analogs are much more consistent in this regard.
When your juice is kicked, it almost feels like you’re smoking a cracked analog.
I feel more satisfied when I have an e-cig than when I have an analog because with analogs you get the nasty cough, sinus problems, and congestion (even immediately after smoking). When a craving hits, I now reach for my c-cig and its gone!

I have ZERO side effects from the e-cig. I think most of the side effects that people experience are either from an overdose or not having enough nicotine. I think the side effects dissipate for those people when their bodies adjust to the new dosage.

Now, that I realize I absolutely can’t live without e-cigs I need to find a more permanent model, get some spare parts, and get a large supply of juice. Please let me know a good online retailer where I can order and get one quickly (my cartridges are drying out and I need to get it soon before I have to start sucking down analogs again).

Welcome in!

I took pretty much the same route as you, just a little shorter. A store a few blocks away sold Njoy. I figured I would just as soon by locally as order over the Internet. Changed my mind fast. Went looking for juice and ended up here.:)

I got a Joy 510 and like it. A couple of other good places.

E-cigs seem to have had the same effect on you as they did me. I received my sidesho from ModernVapor.com 6 days ago, and I have *no* urge to go back to analogs. Though, I'm now forced to smoke them until my ejuice arrives (wishing I would've ordered that sooner!).

The only other model I've tried is the SmokingEverywhere in a mall, so I haven't much experience. But I can say, I love the sidesho and it has awesome customizable options. Great customer service too. You should check em out. It took 2 days for my package to arrive from Chicago (I'm in Louisiana). Not bad. Best of luck bud.

Thanks for the info! I think the 510 looks like the best model for me. I might get one auto battery and one manual battery since I might like the manual better. I've heard of mixed reviews on the 510. Some people said there was a bad batch of them made recently. Is this something I should still be concerned about? I went all day yesterday without analogs and I have a half a pack laying around in case of an emergency but still no desire whatsoever to touch them. In fact, a cigar shop in my area sells Elektro cartomizers...I might just grab them, drain the juice and save the wick material. :D

cignot service was pretty quick for me (less than 5 days from order to mailbox). I have ordered 3 of the 510 $35 starter kits (and attys, PCC, etc) from them and none were bad.
I hated the tobacco pre-filled carts that came with the kits (or any other pre-filled cart for that matter; low on flavor and vapor) Find some decent e-juice too--it will enhance your experience significantly!

You might want to think about geting some mega batts with the 510. i think the man batts are much better than the auto. for wick material I would get blue foam if it was me. good luck to ya

Wecome to ECF wmrwl !! -- You are in very good company here!

There are a numerous ECF 'approved' suppliers to be found on the main ECF forum page (lower down). While It's hard single out any particular supplier over another, I'd have to agree with Brewster-59 and Wireguy above...for their mention of a few suppliers to consider. - I happen to be quite fond of Cignot myself. All of my orders from them have gotten to me in Central Texas within 2 days! But in all fairness...there are many others who've also earned strong admirable reputations for excellent service & speedy attention to their customer's needs. --

I can especially recommend the Joye510 as a very good starter e-cig.
I've also found the DSE-801's & Janty-Sticks to be solid devices as well. --

Along with your initial PV order... don't overlook picking up at least a couple bottles of additional juice too. You might also want to consider grabbing an extra back-up atomizer or two to boot.

Again Welcome to ECF -- I bet you're gonna' like all the great folks here!

cheers,
fisch;)
