ok firstly omg how is this the same juice that I've been vaping on?
I mean the same, I took it out of my hypertank and put it into the cartotank
 this is awesome  doesn't even taste the same....I've had this batch of juice in a protank 2, in my cigalikes and hypertank....

but anyways....
so questions
1) once you put the tank on your mod, how the heck are you supposed to get it off?
2) how to keep the tank from sliding off by accident from the drip tip?
3) if the tanks is just sliding up and down on the cartomizer, what the heck keeps the juice from pouring out the bottom?

I'm so confused but so far 30 minutes of my new adventure into vaping and :vapor::hubba::wub:

kicking myself for not listening to ya'll and doing this months ago

ok so now...what supplies do I need?
This is the one that I got and well, I mean I just got it so can't say good or bad but so far :w00t:
Splash Anodized Glass Carto Tank Kit (6.0mL)

it's going to take some getting used to because I keep trying to pick it up by the tank and of course it starts sliding off the cartomizer

So Cal
Cartotanks are wonderful! If it's sliding up and down the O rings aren't as tight as they should be... mine are from IB Tanked, and they never, ever budge! To take it off I just unscrew it - it stays where I put it.

The O rings are what prevent the juice from leaking, so be careful with them. You can help prolong the life by using a tank filling tool. I think there's one called 'slap yo mama' but I use the one from IB Tanked - they both do the same job.

Enjoy your new tank :)

Those Splash tanks are beautiful. I've thought about getting one myself. Right now I use IBTanked tanks and haven't had any problems with the tank sliding off but occasionally it will spin when I try to unscrew it from my mod. I'm not sure why it happens sometimes. It always corrects itself if I leave it alone for a bit.

my next tank will be prob ibtanked :) I got this from ft just to try it and see if I like it ;)

found out part of the prob...I put one of my own drip tips on it instead of the one it came with and now the tank isn't sliding up so much, still spins but the drip tip fits tighter in there so will have to find a thicker oring for the drip tip to keep tank in place

question....so i filled the cartomizer last night, put on tank, filled tank let sit 30 minutes and was happily vaping last night
this morning noticed the flavor wasn't as great as last night so took off drip tip and noticed the filler looks dry

This is normal. When you draw on the carto, you are not only pulling juice from the tank into the carto, you are also pulling juice from the top of the polyfill down to the lower portion where the coil is. See below diagram:

Cartomizer Anatomy.jpg

As the wick holes in the carto are slightly above where the heating coil lies, they will keep the polyfill wet around the coil. As long as polyfill in the lower portion of the carto is wet, there's no danger of the filler becoming burnt because of being too dry.

Just thought I'd add...the splash tanks are great (I have 3) but the o-rings are made of silicon. They make a good seal but slide really easily on the carto. The IBtanked tanks have rubber o-rings that grip the carto real well and I feel are the best value out there for pyrex carto-tanks.

:thumb: Agree!

thanks.....i'm gonna try again...I had to work 13 hrs and didn't want to take the risk so I pulled the juice out of the tank and put it into a vivi nova....gonna try to prime the carto again and fill tank.....maybe this time it'll take...

after talking with my fellow lurkers seems I could have a bad cart and maybe didn't prime well enough....plus I think the holes may not be big enough...they are about as big as the end of a paperclip

just seemed like after a few vapes the flavor wasn't there so I don't think it was wicking.....

so seems I need to get a thingie and a puncher
what else do you suggest?

Chances are strong that you didn't prime the carto adequately. I personally don't like to "count drops", as different size droppers make different size drops (duh!) which can throw the resulting quantity of juice delivered way off. I pay more attention to the final appearance of the filler material - it should look like a wet slushy drink; glistening with juice but not pooling on top. This is the method that I use with much success:

Baditude's Cartotank Setup Guide

I highly recommend getting a "tank tool". My preferred tool is the Slap Yo Moma from Big Daddy Vapor, however the less expensive tool from IBTanked will work nearly as well.

thanks bad...yeah I've read, reread, rereread your blog...and still doesn't seem that my cartotank is working...
found a childproof medicine bottle and tried the thingie method as well even got a bubble going but still doesn't seem that it's primed/wicking...

well the good part with this tank...the supplied drip tip is actually a fill tool...which is why the tank easily slides up and down with the tip on...so one less tool to buy....
now refilled tank, filled cart...vaping away...top of cart appears dry again and still no bubbles to show that the wick is wicking

can I hot swap the carto? the bottom cap has the ledge to sit flush with the flanged piece

one more silly question....can any cart work in the tank if it fits? So say all my old blu carts if I punch them and they are long enough will they work in the tank? or does it have to have the flanged/shelf thingie?

after reading ocelots blog....nope no hot swapping this tank as it's a dct

and well the blu carts won't work in this tank as they aren't long enough but would assume that if a cart was long enough and round enough it should work.... as long as it's punched :D

so tried yet again to get this cart to work and still no go...getting burnt taste again...did the thingie method again got a bubble, primed it...and again burnt....yep think i just got a bad cart....gonna have to remove juice and try the spare that came with it and hope it works....

Honestly...It just sounds like a bad carto. Is it the one that came with the Splash Tank? If so, I've "heard" that the cartos that come with Fast Tech tanks are garbage. When I got my Splash tank I just threw the carto that came with in the garbage and popped in an Ikenvape carto. Vaped like a champ.
