So I have had my 510 for about 5 days now. This is my first e-cig device, and I have to say that I am less than satisfied. I have read tons of great reviews on the 510 which is why I purchased it, but so far for me I have had nothing but trouble. My kit came with a faulty atty (which is being replaced), the second atty tastes metallic, one has to top off constantly to grt the kind of vapor you would expect. I decided to take up vaping because it seems healthier, but it's such a hassle to have vapor on hand whenever you want it.

I've got back up attys on the way, so well see hoe those turn out, but the moment I am a bit disappointed

I have to admit that IMO the 510 is not a good one for a first PV. It takes a while to get used to it. It also has its pros and cons as every other factory made e-cig.

Give a try for more than a week, I would recommend you to get a different one so you can compare - I have not owned a 901 but it is highly recommended for first timers. I got a m401 as a first PV and was highly impressed with it.

The metallic taste will fade away with the time. Make sure you keep your carts wet all the time. My GF felt the burnt metallic taste for the first time after 2 weeks of usage yesterday.

I have now 510 and m401 and cannot decide which is better actually. I`m using both 50/50.

But what I can say for sure is that I got the 510 to be able to go out clubbing with it, but I`m using it more frequently than I planned...soo.... It`s a great PV ;)

Happy vaping

I have been using a pen style since last September. I really like it until I ordered some new ones, and they had high bridges. They were a pain to deal with, and just didn't work as well. I read some good reviews on the 510, so I ordered one. I love the battery back that charges a battery while it hold spare carts, but I just am not crazy about the unit as a whole.

I like the small size, but I only seem to get about 5 -10 good puffs with it, then not much at all. The carts are much smaller than the pen style, so don't hold as much liquid. I'm constantly refilling it. I do have the USB passthrough, and that helps with the short battery charge.

All in all, I want my pen style back with the flat bridge! I had that thing working like a charm, until the atty died. I'm going to keep trying this one, but I may switch back. This is good for going out with "case", but not for regular use, in my opinion.

I've ordered a penstyle and pipe from ruyan. Hope they grt here soon. I've been dripping on my 510 since I first posted this thread, and now my second atty is not producing any vapor. I'm getting reallyfed up with it. May go buy a pack of marlboro menthols after work. Just way too much maintenance for a newbie. Probably should have started with a 901. Thanks for your help!

I, on the other hand, love my 510 (Yeti). Right from the start, it worked great and put out tons more flavorful warm vapor than my M402. If I had to use the 402, I would still be smoking analogs.

I've noticed the attys love juice and you do go through tons of it. I top off my carts with one or two drops every 5 or 6 large puffs. Even if the cart looks moist, if it get even just a hint of a plastic or melting taste, I drop a couple drops on the cart and let it sit for about 10 seconds until it absorbs, then vape away!

But, to each his own, right? :) We all like different things, and its a good deal that so many different PVs are available to satisfy all our different likes and dislikes.

Whatever you decide Young11, I hope you find your favorite vape and are able to give up the analogs. It will be 3 weeks tomorrow since I've smoked an analog! Woohoo! Never ever in a million years thought it could happen!! :thumb:

FWIW, I've found that many of the complaints of low vapor output from the 510 (and other hardware) have a lot to do with the juice the owner is using. If you want really thick vapor out of it, you need to use juice that you know can produce that. I've found that VG juices are by far the best vapor producers, and when it comes to VG the most vapor heavy is ECOpure. Maybe try some of that (or some of the other VG brands) before giving up on it.

I have both 901 and 510 attys, and they are both really good, in my own opinion. The thing to keep in mind is that they do require a lot of manual labor to keep them producing well.

If you are looking to not have to refill them all the time, then maybe try a pen style, e-cigar, or e-pipe. All 3 have larger carts that hold more liquid. I cannot recommend any as I do not own one....

You are absolutely right! Everyone has a different preference, and even a different smoking "style". Congrats on the 3 weeks! I, too, can't believe I was able to stop using analogs as easily as I did. e-cigs are amazing. I tried one analog back around Christmas, and couldn't stand the taste of it. I'm spoiled by the e-cig taste. It's been 10 months for me, and have NO desire to go back. I even quit the nic juice for a while, and just used VG and LorAnn's candy flavoring. My wife said I was the best air freshener we have ever had in the house! Good luck to both of you. No matter what you try, you will be better off than using analogs.

Thanks for the good wishes. My second atty (the one that was working) just quit on me. I think I may havedripped too much juice so I'm letting them drain. It sucks a lot tho because now I have no workig attys :( I'm hoping I won't have to shelve my 510 when the 801 and 601 arrive, bc it is the ideal size for vaping onthe go. But it may be a while bfore the backup attys and other models arrive so I dunno what I'm gonna do in the meantime. Balls

I agree it can be frustrating, and it is definitely not as easy as picking up a cigarette and lighting it. It's a lot more work and fuddling and futzing around, but I kinda like that part of it...sometimes...other times, not so much.

Anyway, Young11, usually if I flood an atty, blowing through it hard and then wrapping it in a paper towel to drain like you've done solves the problem in a short amount of time so hopefully you'll have one atty up and running again soon. I can't imagine the atty would be dead so soon, so I think there's hope for it, although you say you did have one bad one right from the start.

Although my Yeti was great from the get-go, it was even better a couple days later when the attys were broken it and really going strong. Sometimes patience and perserverence is all thats needed and that's the hardest thing to do when we just want something to work right.

And, of course, sometimes you just get crappy equipment and that's when you know you're having a really bad day. :-x

Ya I did drain the good....eh...better one for like 90 mins or so and its working again. Still getting a nice plasticy/metallic taste whenever I use a cart. Its not as strong when I drip, but I don't want a device that has to be topped off every 10 or so drags. I'm going thru juice like crazy, but the bottom 3/4 of the cart is still wet. About 5 drags after topping off, if I take the cart out, the fibers are sticking to the atty, which I believe means that the cart is too dry. So I top it off again, make sure no fibers are sticking up out of the cart, and what do you know... 5 drags later there's even less flavor and the filler is stuck to the atty again. BOOOOOOO!!!!

I think a lot of it depends on what juice you use. I can crash through cart fills using standard PG juice, but when I use VG based stuff it seems to last a lot longer. I think topping after 10 drags is pretty excessive. I'm getting more like 20 - 30 on PG without topping. Maybe 1/3 again more with VG.

And for what it's worth, I never drip the bridge unless it's getting too dry. Flooding the atomizer leads to lower vapor output and shortens the life of the unit IMO.

Once I receive a bottle of new juice I usually cut it with VG, not a lot, no more than 1/5th. I've noticed it does increase the vapor plus extends the juice with little impact on flavor. It doesn't extend the cart life for me. I'm not having any liquid staying at the cart bottom. I've pulled the filler out of many carts for a bottom check and haven't found a wet one yet. I don't bother checking anymore. I hate refilling carts(I refill with a syringe) so I use the same one for several days. My usual top off, 2-4 drops in the cart and 1 drop in the atomizer, repeat often. I haven't lost an atomizer yet, these are all still going strong. I do clean them weekly. I'm used to the frequent refueling this thing requires, my biggest complaint with the 510 is the crappy battery life.

Surf, I was describing a quick top off in a used cart that is not bone dry. I don't usually try to refill a cart completely by dripping, to time consuming. I re-stuff and fill a batch of carts every 7 - 10 days at one sitting. I refill with a syringe and get on average 1ml in a cart with fresh filler. Sometimes more, sometimes less, depends on the amount of filler I crammed in there. Once the cart has been re-stuffed with fresh filler it takes about 1 second to refill with a syringe. Wanna race....:D

Speedikeys - I totally agree, I love my 510 from the start. Of course, had to break in a couple of attys, but they came around. I got 6 different attys, all which work perfect ( all filled with a different flavor ). The warm hit is great when topping off after about 5 to 10 hits, just carry around a dropper, it's worth it and really not a hassle at all - especially with such a great hit. Currently use 555 with some camel mixed in for throat hit, it's the closest to a cig I have found - smooth heavy hit. It's also very reliable, and just in case I got back-up batteries & attys.
I also have a pen style which is only good for many hits at once puffing low nic like a hookah, refreshing, but not a nice deep cig hit like the 510.
With 5 different attys producing perfectly, I have to say I'm very satisfied and feel for anyone who is not experiencing the same way.
It's also very versatile, want heavy throat hit or not, add that specific juice.
Good luck!

I do agree that the th is great from the 510. I cleaned my one good atty yesterday and the taste is much better (using 24 mg menthol, so I hit it less frequently and it's a very strong taste). However this morning Ive been checking my cart after 2-5 drags, just out of curiosity, and everytime as least a few fibers of my filler are stuck to the atty. The top of the cart is dry, but the rest is soaked. I don't know what to do I don't want to have to check my cart after 3 drags and puch the filler around. Any suggestions?

510 is tough to drip with,,,,take your atty's and blow threw them, then turn them over plug the center battery hole and blow out the 2 little side holes that should get it up and running if not I have ran mine under the faucet...blew it both directions really really good and fired it right back up
I recommend you just top your carts and when it starts to taste funny or dry top it again
