so I got my 510 minutes ago from smokey treats. got the first battery charging as we speak. can't wait to try it.

I also got a manual pt so I could immediately try out this new little toy. Its plugged into my macbook. With one atomizer, I am getting some vapor, not nearly as much as seen on some video reviews, but there is some vapor in the exhale. The second atomizer, with the same cart, produces no vapor at all. There is enough so that I can see it if I puff on it like a cigar, and I can feel it slightly if I inhale it, but there is no smoke/vapor in the exhale at all. I have also dripped liquid on the atomizer, topped off the cart, I am varying my drawing speeds, and still nothing. Is this a faulty atomizer? Is the first one faulty as well? I wish smokey treats would send a specialist with the package to teach me how to use it properly.

Bummer. any idea?

The atomizers take about a week to break in properly. Does it taste like plastic? What you're probably experiencing now is just the primer on the atomizer. Just bear with it and try to take a long even drag. Pull the smoke into your mouth before you inhale. It'll give you more of a chance to enjoy the flavor anyhow. A good e-cig inhale should be anywhere from 4-5 seconds. Hope this helps. Your second atomizer may be faulty. The only real problem with e-cigarettes is the inconsistency in quality of the products. *points at China*

Yeah I'll definitely keep at it for the next week. The atomizer on the 510 gets extremely hot after only a couple drags. all I want to do is keep smoking it but I'm worried about burning it out.

so far the flavors are still pretty weak, but at least im getting more vapor off some of the longer drags.

Thanks for your help

That's the problem most people have with the 510 is how hot the atomizer gets. Almost all of the problems you might have can be solved when you start breaking those darned analog habits. Time will extend between drags as you start to become more independent of your addiction. I felt so empowered when I realized I didn't need it anymore...I could just enjoy it. Imagine a world in which you can forget your e-cigarette at home when you leave for work and...just...not...care. It's really a great feeling.

I have been dragging on the faulty atomizer for about an hour now (with mint ultra liq from smokey treats) and im definitely getting better vapor production, however not much taste and extremely little/no throat hit on a 4-5 sec drag. still kinda bummed, about to go have a marlboro menthol 100.

on a lighter note, Im about to purchase both a 801 penstyle and 601 pipe kit from ruyandirect. great prices but $29 for shipping. yikes. however, for two kits, extra 801 atomizer, 2 liquids, and a bunch of empty carts it comes out to $167 with shipping. Don't know if I can get a better price than that. Should I consider any other device (doesn't have to be from ruyandirect) before I finalize? please let me know

Thanks for the help!!!

Probably won't find better prices than RuyanDirect. I personally wouldn't pick up the 801 though. I just made the big leap by ordering a golden greek for myself... Most people say the 510 and 901 are a good start, but you'll eventually make the leap to a screwdriver, jantystick, prodigy or GG if you keep vaping. As far as the 510 try holding down the manual button for just a couple of seconds before you start your inhale. The hotter the atomizer the harder the throat hit. Keep in mind this might be fairly bad for your atty. Always keep spares around!

This happened to me at first, too. Before you give up on that atomizer, try blowing it out really well, drip a couple drops on it, let it sit a min and try it again. It worked like magic with mine.

i live in so cal. i havent been waiting at all after dripping onto the atomizer. ive done this only a few times and nothing too bad yet.

im finally getting some decent vapor, but still not a lot on the exhale. its not bad tho, much different from what i expected

I also have a 510 from e-smokeytreats, as well as an 801 (and my mother has a 901). So far the 901 seems to be the most reliable. The 510 is the newest purchase, though. One atty might have been bad from the get-go, will have to message them. Touche on the hotness. I also noticed the lack of taste with the 510. However, it seems to be breaking in the more I use it. I'm always worried about burning it out though. And, the cartridges don't seem to be lasting long at all. Whenever I've used my mother's 901, they seem to go for longer. It might be because the batting is so snug, I'm not sure (note that I drip onto blank carts, not using the carts already filled). I had gotten the 801 because a month or two ago it seemed to be favorable. When I have had an 801 atomizer in 'top condition' man, did it work well. Great vapor and lasting for a good amount of time. Now I am going through a spell of faulty atomizers--albeit I could be the one who is faulty--and I have been filling carts myself instead of buying the already filled ones which causes me to have to mess with the batting, which in turn breaks it up a little, which in turn causes it to get stuck to the core down in the atomizer. I don't know, this is all still new to me, and I am not a fast learner. I am most glad, though, that I am the one having the difficulty and have to sometimes smoke analogs, very grateful it is working out well for my mom who has been a heavy smoker for over 40 years. :) well.... :( but :)

I would also suggest to try to stick with e-smokeytreats. Phil is great :)
But if you are looking to venture outside of the 3 models he has, well, then, you must, you must.(Blazing Saddles inflection)

Cleaning out the 510 by blowing has really helped... anyone find the battery chargers to be a little flimsy?

The battery chargers are really nothing more than a AC/DC inverter with a voltage regulator. The protection circuit built into the battery really does most of the charge control. It is almost impossible to abuse these batteries due to the protection circuit.
