Ok, last question..
An 18mg you would say it represents lets say a high nicotine cigarette (eg: marlboro red) or should i go for a 36mg liquid? And would you suggest buy lets say 25 cartridges for a start or more/less.?

i found 18mg not high enough for me..i use to smoke regal (HIGH)
so i vape 36mg its closer to a cigarette you even get throat hit with 36mg you wont with 18mg..plus i found when smoking 18mg the 901 was never out of my mouth with 36mg 15 puffs and your done just like a cigarette...hope this helps

I would just like to say thanks to Kit for the advice given throughout this thread. Having read through I have just ordered my first 'MINI' and not the 'SUPER MINI' . I have never used an e Cig before so I was wondering what the best equivalent to a menthol 'analog' cigarette would be. I ordered the starter kit with 50 'high' cartridges so I'm hoping they will be close to a standard analog cigarette but recently I've been smoking menthol's so would like to e-smoke something similar.

To the Noobs - First, Welcome to the Club
Second, Getting a bottle of juice is a real good idea. The carts I have found do not last myself nearly as long as i would like, so the juice is invaluable to me for topping off the carts when they run low. I was a heavy smoker, around 2-3 packs a day, since the E-cig, im down to 1/2-1. I tryed the high nicotine liquid, and found it to harsh, but you can always thin it out, so higher would be better. If your a real social/casual/light smoker
then the 18 would be more then fine. You can even get 0's which may be better even still. Then you get the action of smoking, but just flavor, with no worry of expanding/increasing a possible nic addiction you may have just started.
Just my little tips.

I can only imagine the number of new fans attracted to e-smoking by the recent press reports, who go to eBay looking for an e-cig "that looks most like a real cigarette." They will be lost causes. They will be disappointed. They will bad-mouth e-smoking. For me, if a tiny little lookalike was all I had available, I'd go back to real cigs.

i'm sad to say (and i think i'm repeating myself where i might have said this in another thread but i've had a few homebrew beers to drink hehe) that i purchased a super mini as my first purchase. this was before i found the ratinthehat's videos that then brought me here.

to be honest, and i am speaking without any experience of e-smoking though as it's still in the post... what i wanted to achieve from the e-cig was the ability to have a quick fix during times that are really hard to nip outside for, ie, at work and down the pub. so hopefully my expectations wont be too high of it. do you think this one's ok for that sort of thing?

if i find myself topping off the carts and getting through the batteries more than i'd like i might step up to the mini. i dont really fancy the pen as it looks cumbersome. but without actually handling one i cant be sure. perhaps later i might invest in one for home use if i become a sole e-smoker, but i prefer travelling light, so if it doesn't fit in my pocket, i tend to not be interested.

do you think the super mini is acceptable if you carried 4 carts and 3 or so batteries for the day? or is this too cumbersome for a leightweight carrier like me?

You might as well get a good pen style in the first place. They're not cumbersome if carried in a lanyard, which you can tuck into your shirt pocket or just wear around your neck. In fact, I've come close to losing the little e-cigs I've tried. Never had that happen with my Janty Kissbox pen.

My anti-mini feeling stems from short battery life, short cart life, hard metal that feels funny in your mouth (not at all like a real cig), and, in the cases I've experienced, cheap construction. I've tried a bunch of these things, including pipes and cigars, and wouldn't trade my Janty for all of the rest combined.

Like Nazareth here, I'm waiting for something like the disposable LoongTotem to become affordable and widely available. It even feels more like a cig. That is the e-cigarette that will make most minis relics of the past.

Stewart,its really up to you to decide whats acceptable to you...if its for very occasional use,then it might do you ok for awhile...

if you find you like esmoking,then i guarantee you will move to a larger device quite rapidly...

Well, thanks to reading the forum and reading Kit's advice I have been happily vaporing with the DSE901 Mini (for two days now) purchased from Pillbox38 so I don't think I'll be a lost cause. Fortunately I spent some time trawling through the forum, something I suspect many people will fail to do until too late so I wonder if it would be a good idea for the experienced members to get together and create an 'advice pack' - created by users for 'new users'. It could be a way of reducing disappointment in potential newcomers interested in e-Cigarettes.

It says a lot when you ask, "If you could only have device .." And the overwheming winners are your 901 and the Janty Kissbox. For satisfaction, those cannot be beat.

As another newbie here, I just thought I'd mention that the press coverage of e-smoking in Canada has been quite minimal. I didn't actually see anything in the Canadian Press until I went looking for it ... I usually get my daily doom and gloom from the BBC (the end of the world will always sound less frightening when announced in a British accent).

In fact, it was a BBC report on e-smoking that brought the whole thing to my attention, and eventually to this site.

My hat goes off to you 'old hands', you've done a bang-up job of talking plainly about the pros and cons of esmoking. I doubt anyone coming to this site will come away mis-informed.

Now the American media reports on the other hand...
