I had a battery with a loose thread mount that ended up
breaking the wires. I tried to solder them back together
but it just wouldn't work again.

so I took it apart and soldered it to a switch from radio shack
and a USB cable from a dead mouse. It's not pretty but man
does it work great! I've got a 1000mah AC to USB adapter coming.

when I first connected it up I had a dura usb charger on as well
and my Dell system monitor warned I was taxing the bus!

Direct DURA USB vaping! I'm in heaven :D

Nice job. I'm guessing that you used an auto battery. I'm waiting for a C battery to die to make mine. AC to USB adapter is a must, I wouldn't risk a 1500.00 machine for a 15 dollar mod. Has Radio Shack has gone in the toilet, or is it me? There always out of the few parts they carry. I need a few micro switches, sorry were out, we can order some... Best buy lite...

yeah it was an auto battery.

I do want to make one out of my Dura-C when it croaks in a few months.

invidregis, do you have any idea how to safely extract the atomizer mount
from the Dura-C without damaging it or the switch inside?

I think these suckers are super glued together!

This will be the best setup yet (so clean design with the switch inside)

I have yet to take apart a C battery, I'm hoping that the plastic button isn't attached, just floats on the real switch. The way I have been getting the mount out is with a small tube cutter. I line up the blade where the brass meets the metal tube. Tighten and turn, instead of cutting, the blade will wedge in the gap and force them apart. Then use a dead atomizer, attach, pull, and/or push from the LED end. Hope that helps.
