I find it unsettling that a vape shop can and will sell something capable of such amperages and current draw. Just my :2c:

Agreed. That .4Ω coil draws 10A at 4 volts. Not even kosher on an AW 2000mAh battery. So many things that could go wrong.

He's set up fine, but also kind of set up for disaster for someone so in-experienced. Highly irresponsible of that B&M. Darwin award for sure. (B&M not the OP)

All due respect to the OP, but what if he decided to buy a backup battery or two without the knowledge of what he needs to safely power a setup like that? It sounds pretty clear to me that they didn't take any sort of time or effort to educate the user on the setup that they sold him.....
Stories like this are becoming all too common and it is disturbing.

They were super nice but I think the guy only sets these mods the same way all the time. I bought my girl a k101 and instead of .4 he did he's at .5 with dual coils aswell...drilled the air holes a bit bigger and called it a day. The shop was awesome as people super nice but I think they just have a way of doin it that is just to their liking

I think its downright sick to sell that kind of setup to a first timer without even telling them that they could be in serious danger

What you have bought is a REALLY good cloud chaser setup... But its also a really good pipebomb if you dont watch out...

Well based on the advice of my vaping community I am about to go to my local shop and see if they will rebuild my RDA for at least a 1.0 ohm set up..and teach me what's needed to stay super safe and be able to vape on. Thanks

Tell them to build you a dual coil out of 2 2ohm coils as f1vefour said thats gonna be a 1ohm setup... Its safe and its a good beginning with an igo...

Theres nothing dangerous about your current setup... Unless youre a dummy (i doubt that you are)... But you should check the ohms on a regular basis to make sure it stays where it is.
And if you experience the mod getting hot you should get the battery out of it to determine if thats the heat source (you wont doubt it) if that IS the heat source put it somewhere where nothing can catch fire and do it fast... When it cools down check to see if theres any harm done to it and check the charge on it...

The atomiser itself can get pretty hot because of the coil and transfer heat to the mod itself, but in this case the battery wont be as hot as the mod and the atomiser will be the hottest part

Okay no doubt I really appreciate it. I am going to get some coil an wick supplies on Tuesday and then I'll rebuild it and run it at that advised ohm..and go from there . Thanks again. However I will say too that since I've been using it since it was built, hasn't really gotten hot and hasn't shown any other signs of issues..but I def will heed the warnings and go with the advice of the vets

The kind of coils we get from the manufacturers are 1.5, 1.8, 2.2, 2.5 ohms.

If you want to aim for the safe zone I'd imagine around 2 ohms is safe enough.

Anytime you drop below 1 ohm you're down in the danger zone.
