Hello all and thank you for allowing me into the ECF community. I have been reading the posts for a few weeks and have learned so much. I have been smoking analogs for over 30 years. Two months free of them! Thanks to you I have been able to accomplish the steps below.
Last month my GF gifted me a disposable Blu cig. After countless attempts to give up the analog I was quite skeptical that this was simply another gimmick and wouldn't even compare to a analog. I have to admit this seemed like a better idea than my last (smoking those patches!) So in all my wisdom I put it in my mouth and mustered up all my battered lungs could give and took a huge, deep, and long drag. A bit later when I found myself getting up off the Walmart parking lot I realized these things are far from a gimmick. I left WM and went to Walgreens to purchasing a Blu starter kit. I later discovered the Blu was not my answer despite all the wonderful youtube videos. Week one I burnt out the first battery. I have to admit Blu CS was great they shipped me a replacement plus I bought another. Now I had three dinky batteries one plugged into my laptop USB, one in the wall outlet, and one in my mouth! A constant nonstop circle! In the midst of this I found a $15.00 5 pack of Blu atomizers would last me 2 days and by the end of my 2nd week I could have bought a very nice PV. Don't get me wrong I have a soft spot for Blu because of my GF and Blu I have seen the light! They have a place in my vaping (formal). You can't hardly get any smaller.
At this point I ordered some Liquid from Johnson Creek. That was some good juice. I used the juice to fill the Blu carts and cut down on the $15.00 every other Blu refills. DIY refill worked great. I managed to wear out another battery and was reduced to waiting for the charge light to turn blue and with shaky hands screw on the tip for that wonderful first vape. By the end of the battery, a short half of an hour later, I was blowing a lung and getting next to no vape. I ended up taking an old laptop ac adapter wraping it around the cart threads and carefully touching the other wire to the center pin (don't laugh it worked great).
I had been reading this thread by now and had some Idea what a MOD was. I decided 18650 was in my very near future. So I took the leap and purchased the new Imotion V3 with a Vivi Nova Tank and fell in love. All day vaping and no charger needed. I could fill the tank once, set the watts and have the same vape from sunup to sundown!
A week into the Imotion V3 the love affair was over and I flooded the Nova and it dripped down into the electronics. What a neat light show on the LCD! With it still limping along I followed a link from Vaper Joe's blog and bought a Tesla clone K200. Not bad but probably to much money for what it is. I just know it is a must for me to have VV or VW, with the ability to put out the same voltage from start to finish, it is also a plus to have a battery meter and cart resistance displayed. It's also a plus to have all the integrated safety. I can imagine this having the same flooding problem. Someone must make a battery that can live through a flood.
I have no back up at this point other than my old laptop adapter. I'm in the market for a primary PV and a good (Passthrough) not a battery passthrough one of those little USB VV deals looks perfect. I was thinking that could be matched with a portable backup power supply. So much to learn!
Did I mention somewhere in the middle of this I found Wizard labs! I bought $30.00 worth 120ml of everything and 3 flavors. Hazelnut works great, Amaretto, and Watermelon not so much. Watermelon is harsh and Amaretto is more like Shell Gasoline. I must need something more than the flavors? Started at 3% then went to 5% (with the hazelnut) and it is smooth the other flavors even at the low levels are very harsh. I'm letting them set we will see. I don't mind no flavor since I'm in it for the nicotine. I can eat cake and pie while I vape
. Honestly I hope to come up with a few good mixes. I ordered 1000ml NS and gallons of the rest so I will have plenty to play with. Now probably isn't the best time to try to figure out shelf life but, I'm going to have freeze some or bury it in the back yard. I just couldn't help myself when I found WL back up for orders.
Anyway, Thank you all for taking the time to post your knowledge. I look forward to learning from you all and enjoy reading your post.
Sincerely,
Todd,
