So I have been gaping for almost a month now and I'm loving it. I no longer smell like an ash tray all the time and I don't wake up coughing in the morning.
I should first explain my current set up and maybe you guys can help me figure out what I should try next (this is the question). I currently use a 1000 mah ego twist with a Ismoka bcc mini. I recently ordered a Smoktech Pyrex dct and it will be my first experience with cartomizers.
I am wondering if the Smoktech carto that will. Come with it will give me more flavor than I have been getting with my BCC or if I should look in to getting some different cartos to replace the stock one.
I've also been wondering if it is safe to use clearomizer tanks with a mechanical mod because I'm looking in to getting a Kamry K100 in the near future.
I look forward to your answers :)

Hey there, welcome to ECF!

It is safe to use anything on a mechanical mod as long as you have the right battery and are aware of the necessary precaution the user have to take towards them. Why do you want to use a mechanical with clearomizer? I can tell you right off the bat that they will not perform very well.

Stock clearomizers have to much electrical resistance to operate off of a unregulated mod like a mechanical. You will get a weaker vape than what your eGo twist currently offer.

If you absolutely want to use a mechanical with clearos I would strongly suggest that you invest in a Kick that will give you the ability to get more voltage out of your battery.

You'll be able to use any brand cartomizer in the Smoktech Pyrex DCT: Smoktech, Boge XL, or Ikenvape mega pre-punched cartomizers. You can even use single coil Smoktech carts, which most people prefer.

Your choice between brands will come after trying each one, as they each may produce flavor differently due to differences in the batting material. Most everyone will prefer one brand over another. And most people will agree once they have success with a cartotank, that they realize better flavor with one.

Using a clearomizer tank is safe to use with a mechanical mod. Why wouldn't it be? The results may be subpar for you, but there are a lot of people who use this setup and it works for them. My daughter is a relatively new vapor who uses the dual coil Innokin iClear 30 clearomizers on her AltSmoke BB mechanical mods. It works for her.

Footnote: Make sure the bottom center post on whatever you use on a mechanical is NOT flush with the 510 threads (it needs to protrude a bit), some mods have an extra large center positive post and you WILL short out your battery. In my experience Protanks are especially prone to this problem. Maybe some others that I have no experience with as well.

Well that was fast! Thanks for the answers guys. I was under asumpon that a mechanical would put out a higher voltage an is recommended for a clearo tank. Its good to know that I can swap out the carto in the Smoktech dct tank because I noticed that the carto it comes with has some kind of flange on the bottom. What is your favorite carto to use in tanks Baditude?

Mechanical mods relies on the natural voltage output of a battery. Unlike your ego twist, it as no electronic ships that can boost the signal of your battery to maintain the same power until it needs to be recharged again. When fully charge, a mech will give you stronger vape that will go down in intensity as the battery drains itself.

Mechanical offers no battery protection either. It can be dangerous to drain a battery below a certain point. Your ego twist will shut itself off before the battery reaches that point.... A mech will not. It is up to you to know when to stop.

Ikenvape has flanged too.
I like the flanged because it wont slip off!
In the beginning i didnt buy flanged and ended up with a tank full of juice in my lap twice!
Ive been very happy with my smoktech cartos and get them from ibtanked.
I also recomend buying thingys from there as well, they make priming any carto easy as pie!
Plus ita a nice way to store your tanks when not in use or traveling.

I am very happy with my smok dcts. I found some really cheap at fasttech and they are great! The cartos that come with them ate trash tho. And shipping takes about 3 weeks, but for less than $7 it is a goodway to get a tank collection. I have 8 dct tanks total and one ibtanked.
Baditude has some good blogs, click on his profile and read read read!

i have the mvp2 and looove it, the button is not bad especially if you know how to hold it, check out the mvp2 threads. One has pictures of a seamless way to hold it. Also check jwraps for great skins !

Yes an MVP will work for rba's but it maxes out at 11 watts.

Ah mechanical just puts out what the battery voltage is, 4.2-3.5 volts, once the voltage drops the vaping drops too. So it's the ohms of the atomizer that determines the watts produced. One can get a kick 2 by evolv, and then be able to regulate their mechanical and adjust the output from 5-15 watts, and get a very consistent vape. Also gives you all the protection of a regulated mod too. Recommend it for someone just starting out with mechanicals. Also make sure you use IMR high drain batteries with your mech. Safer battery chemistry, and make sure to get at the minimum a 10 amp contagious draw rated battery, and if going sub ohm, a 20 or 30 amp rating would be better.

Have fun and gape safe. Vape safe too!! lmao

Kick 2 has two grounding posts, accepts builds from .5-3.3 ohms, better power management, and adjustable from 5-15 watts. the original only goes down to 1.2 ohms I believe and only up to 10 watts and has only 1 grounding post. The dual posts on the kick 2 virtually eliminates the misfire issues that were common with the original and kick clones.
