Hi. I am new to this forum and this is my first post. I have been analog free for 2 months and 2 days. I am having a bit of trouble with a cartomizer i just got and need some advice if anyone can help. I just got my smok tech 2.5 ml ego tank a few days ago and it has been great. I drilled a extra hole in the dual coil 1.6 ohm carto it came with and it vapes like a fog machine now and taste great. I just tried to use one of the pre punched replacement carto's i bought with it to switch flavors and there is something wrong with it. I took it straight out of the package and filled it. I filled it correctly and let it sit over night. It taste really burnt. Kinda like a dry atty. It is producing vapor as normal it just taste like burnt rubber or something. The carto that came in the tank never tasted like that. It is terrible. Is there anything i can do to get rid of that taste? I'm thinking about boiling it but I don't know if that will damage it. Keep in mind I am still new to this and may be a bit ignorant on some things. I have researched alot on how these things work I just don't always know the correct terminology. Thanks :2cool:

Hi Blinx and welcome to ECF. It could be the hole in the carto isn't large enough or your juice is too thick/ has a high amount of VG. What PG/ VG ratio is your juice? I use 60/ 40 PG/ VG and my one carto hole is 2.5 mm.
Here's an Ecig Glossary:

I also use a tank and, as you know, the first fill is very important. I use the condom method.

VG and cartos can be frustrating. You definitely want to stay on the 70pg/30vg side of the mix and try to stick with fairly clear or translucent juices. Dark juices have lots of particulates that don't completely dissolve. That will clog the filler in a carto.

1.6 ohm dual coils work fine on an eGo battery, although they tax the battery and the electronics to the max. You might find that an unregulated 3.7v battery might be more to your liking with Boge 2 ohm cartos.

You're welcome. Some that enjoy vapor/ high VG ratio add a "little" PGA or distilled water to thin the juice out and allow it to flow easily.
Good Luck.

Thanks for the replies! Vapoor eyes that is a very good point. I didn't even think of the thickness of the juice. I was using 70/30 vg/pg instead of my normal 70/30 pg/vg. Also jim it is 1.5 dual coil instead of the 1.6 dual coil I was using but I am using it on an ego. Thanks for the help.
