Hi y'all!! Newbie from east Texas here!! Okay, after seeing that some of you have upgraded within the first month, give or take, I don't feel so alone here!! LOL
I got an eGo-CTwist to start with a 900 as a back up & went down today & got a Lava tube?? I quickly outgrew my CTwist & knew I needed more! I still feel real nervous about $200 I've spent in a month plus worries about messing up my battery if I've filled my carto wrong or just burning the carto up! Luckily so far thanks to lurking in the back til now & lots of reading, I've not done either.
So, since my most recent tank purchases happened before I read about the polypropylene tanks etc. is there a way for me to know what they are by description? I know I can go back to the shop & ask, which I will, but was more curious about my original tank that was purchased from a friend. Also my lava tube didn't come with any instructions, is that standard for most shops so you'll keep coming in or is there a place to find it online? I guess this is a good place to stop for now & get some sleep, it's difficult to quit reading the forums with so much knowledge to be gained! Thanks in advance for any & all help! It's greatly appreciated!

Hi Portia, welcome to ECF, :)

And well done for making the switch to vaping.

Firstly, which lavatube have you purchased? Do you know the version number, who did you buy it from? can you link it to the thread? If it's the V2 have a look at this review it will help you with the instructions.

You can always buy a 510-510 sealed adapter for your Lavatube to prevent juice leaking into the device.

I don't understand your question about polypropylene tanks. If you mean Clearomisers then there are a stack of them out there, the most popular are Kanger T3's, Vivi Nova's, Stardust's/CE4's and most recently the iClear's and Kanger Protank. Have a read through Baditude's Blog, he has some good examples and explains the differences rather well.
Proper terminology - Is it a carto, a tank, or what? A primer on Juice Delivery Attachments.

If you mean is there a problem with poly tanks? then yes certain juices can etch the plastic and make it foggy. Some have concerns about the plastic leeching into juice but you can over come this by making a decent investment in a Glass tank either from Phiniac, IBTanked and loads more, just search for Glass Cartomizer Tanks. Some clearo's like the Vivi Nova's have metal tanks available and I may be wrong but the New Kanger Protank has a glass tank.

It can be so overwhelming starting out and not knowing all the correct terminology is OK. You really aren't expected to. We'll work through it and help you out.
Just have fun vaping.
;)

Hi there Portia74, and welcome to ECF!:D

You will find lots of useful information in these forums. Once you get your five initial posts out of the way, you will be able to visit the different threads. To help with your lavatube question, there is a thread for all lavatube owners/fans under the APV discussion. There are also many reviews online that go through all the functions of the lavatube.
Here is one done my PBusardo (A very respected e-cig/vapor reviewer)
A PBusardo Review - LAVATUBE Version 2 - YouTube

As for your polypropylene tank question, they should state to you if the tank is polypropylene or polycarbonate. Polypropylene is one of the matierials like glass and pyrex which can resist the effects of leaching and cracking of cinnamon and citric juices. Unfortunately a lot of tanks and clearomizers contain polycarbonate tubes, which can crack and degrade from use of cinnamon and citric juices. It is said that a polypropylene tube/tank has a slight frosted look to it. I ordered of these tanks
Pro DCTank Tube | TheVapeStore.com®
one clear and one smoked. I have used Fire&Ice(cinnamon and menthol intensely flavored e-juice) in one tank for the last week and a half, and it has shown no signs of damage.

I hope these help you. :D :vapor:

Welcome to ECF.

I hate to say it, but I didn't read it, but wanted to welcome you to the forum :)

I am a believer in the return key and paragraphs. My eyes are old

Thanks everyone for the welcome & I do apologize for not thinking about paragraphs and return key(mental note ;) ), my pc took a nose dive last night and I was posting from my iPhone. Thanks for the reminder, it's been a long time since I've participated in any forums and have forgotten some of my netiquette apparently.

Hi - do you have a picture of the tank or find one on-line that looks like it?

Thanks Meli your post was quite helpful!! I really appreciate you taking the time to answer me so thoroughly.

I have cartotanks LOL Duh!!I knew I was leaving something out!

I will just have to call or go by Uptown Vapor Lounge on Tuesday to see about an instruction manual, but the You Tube videos helped me a bit and showed me the difference in my lavatube and the one the guys were reviewing. After a day with a new carto in my tank for my new flavor, I'm feeling really confident about filling etc. Baditude's post about how to fill my tank really did the job!! I didn't have to taste "burning polyfiber". I guess that's what happens when people don't take the time to learn about their equipment and just rely on word of mouth. When my friend told me that could happen I knew that it didn't sound quite right.

I'm really so glad to have found ECF and hope that one day I'll be able to pass on the knowledge and help others as well. I've already told one friend about here and am about to let my friend who is trying to get her vaping business off the ground know as well. I'm already feeling much more confident today and glad I made my investment!!

So I am now 4 weeks analog free again and not wanting to kill everyone because I don't have my nicotine! :)

Hi Ocelot,
I've been looking for a picture of the tanks and the best I've come up with so far is Pro DCTank Tube so I guess I kind of answered my own question. LOL That's what I get for being short on sleep and posting at the same time. Thanks for your help!
