hi I just got my itaste mvp 2 a few weeks ago I have been using a aspire nautilus tank and I love it but now I want a rda because I have so many juices and I like to switch them up the rda I want is a Patriot clone by tobacco v2 with drilled out air holes 3/32 in size so far from what I heard is that 1.8 to 2.5 ohms coils would be best for my mvp since I can not sub ohm I also heard that not all rda's will make contact on the mvp I have a 510 to ego adapter that I have been using for my evod tank I am hoping that will solve that problem tell what you guys and gals think about this set up a few things about me I only vape 0mg e juice and I love to blow big clouds
:vapor:any help will be greatly appreciated

Hello and welcome to ECF. The MVP2 is awesome right? I love mine. I'm looking to get another RDA also. I've only got one. And you're right about it looking like not all RDAs will work with MVP. That's one of the things making it tough for me to decide what to get.
But this is the one I think I'm gonna go withA7 Stainless Steel Rebuildable Atomizer

I have 2 MVP2's and am using Kayfuns with 1.4 Ohm builds on both. The MVP2 will fire as low as .8 Ohm but not very well, anything over 1.2 Ohm should be fine. Shooting for 1.8 Ohm is a good idea to begin with.

As for connection problems, the pin on a MVP2 can be wiggled up with a toothpick, paperclip, micro screwdriver, etc... Stick the small tool down beside the pin and very gently wiggle against the pin all the way around it. that should raise it if you are having connection problems. Just be gentle! I've heard of people grabbing the pin with some type of needle nose pliers and pulling the pin completely out by accident.

I've also heard of people sticking a tiny o-ring under the pin to keep it from being squashed down. How they get it under the pin is beyond me though.

I also have a patriot clone from 101vapes (not sure if it's a tobeco). It worked much better after I drilled out the air holes. However the center screw is starting to strip after only 5 or 6 builds. I was always careful and gentle with the screws too, so I picked up a Trident V2 to replace it. I like it a lot better!

Igo-L

Fantastic little starter RDA. Very easy to work with. Once you've got a good feel for building coils with the Igo you should be ready to take on pretty much any other RBA/RDA out there.

+1, although I went with the IGO-W so I could have the dual coil option. I do intend to order the L so I can have it dedicated to single coil setups. Best part of the IGOs is the price, excellent value.

After watching Rip Trippers' recent video on the Trident V2 last night, it is definitely on my radar!

For me and I have a few of them get one you can build both a single and double coils for. I would also say in some cases get the clones such as the Omega which will do a single or double coil setup easily. Others would be the Patriot, IGO W, IGO M, TOBH, Stillare etc. All of these are possible cloud producers depending on the coil/coils built, wicking material and juice. The IGO's are in the $20 to $30 range with the rest as clones in the $20 to $50 range depending on how long you are willing to wait. All can be gotten for under $15 from Fasttech but they are all clones which some won't buy no matter how good they are.

How is the vapor production on the RDA's (thinking about grabbing a Patriot after work today) paired with the MVP 2.0? Most videos have the VV/VW mods pushing 15w+, and the MVP as we know only hits 11w. I want to start getting into RDA's, but am not ready to go mechanical yet. Don't know enough and it scares me to go unregulated.

The MVP 2.0 has an amp limit of 3A, which is fine in most cases. However, to get the full voltage range of the MVP 2.0 (3.3V to 5.0V is it?) you'd have to stick with a coil resistance above 1.6Ohms (if I've done the math correctly). With a coil at, say, 1.3Ohms you'd be able to put the voltage up to 5V but you'd actually only be getting around 3.9V.

As I said, this wouldn't matter to most people. But for some, the restriction is a bother and that's why they go for devices with higher limits or indeed mech mods with no limits (other than the battery limit, which can be anywhere up to 35A without stacking - which is not advisable).

I was thinking of staying right around 1.8ohms, so it sounds like I will be good to use the MVP, while I learn about the coil building and mechanical mods. I'll eventually pick up a new VV/VW mod, something that will handle upwards of 20w.

Just got a patriot clone an hour ago.. The local b&m drilled it out for me. Tried dual coil sub ohm.. It works but not well.. But a single coil at 0.85 is making clouds of tasty vapor! Was a pita to get the coil just right but I am one happy camper!

Cant tell ya day to day yet.. But im smitten so far!
