Wow, lots of information here. Thanks everybody. The reason I'm not interested in mechs is because from what I've read, you can't adjust the voltage correct? Whatever battery you're using, that's what you get?

By the nature of a mech, correct only the voltage drops as it's used. At the same time you aren't limited.
On most regulated mods- ie MVP, provari and even the DNAs. They won't fire if the coil is below a certain resistance. A mech will fire whatever you put on it. That's how they get so much power out of them. With that power discharge all at once though can come a limitation in battery life. Thy only hold so much power. With the regulated mods you can adjust that and like you said the voltage. I've found that certain juices taste better on my regulated at certain settings; but that's just me.
I have both a mech and regulated, for all day I prefer the regulated with a kayfun. The battery lasts longer; it's not discharging all it's got every time. And the tank holds almost 5 mil of juice. I filler up in the morning and roll out; knowing I'm good till I get home that night. At home or when I'm just relaxing I'll switch between the two.
But for me and the way I vape, a good regulated mod is perfect. In fact I only have the dripper or the mech was because I got a smoking deal on them.
There are some vapors whom I'm sure will respond touting the power of a mech and the massive clouds that it'll blow and you can't beet the flavor. And part of that is true a dual coil a to 0.5 is a fog machine. But, in my opinion for someone just looking to experiment with a dripper a decent RDA on an MVP wrapped well will suit you just fine, and, if you like it and want to try a mech later there no reason not to get one then.

Just ordered a Nimbus off ebay for 9.75. Gonna be my first rebuild able so I'm gonna see how it performs on my MVP first with a decent coil when I build one!:)

sent from my damned S4!:)

Congrats! The nimbus is nice one thing you may want to do; might even contact the seller and see if they will- but the draw may be a little tight, so you may consider drilling the air hole out with a 3/16th bit.

I have read about that several times. Didn't specify if it was predrilled or not but with the equipment I have at my shop I can make it happen!:) I also might do some sand blasting work and engraving on it just to add my personal touch to it!:)

I figure if I can do it to knives and gun parts then my vaping gear could get some attention too!:) so far I've only engraved my name down the side of my mvp!:) kinda hard to work on it when I'm busy vaping with it!:)

Lol- I try to keep mine looking as stock as I can- but I do want them all to match- weird like that.

I'm good with stock for a while then the creativity bug bites and I gotta do something!:)

Lol- I'm straight up ....- polish the mods and all. Which sucks because I really want a copper with patina on it for a mech only because I dig the way they look; but having all polished stainless then that would drive me insane

Not sure how far you can push it but having a safety feature as it does if your ohms are too low it just won't run it. When I was using my mvp2 I was able to vape down to a 1.0 coil. This is fact. According to my ohm reader and the ohm reader on my mvp2 my coil was 1.0. It would not go lower than a 1.0. It simply wouldn't run any thing below a 1.0. I got a great vape on my mvp2 with my kayfun at 1.0 so I think who ever said it's worthless to run a kayfun on it is very much mistaken. However if I may make a suggestion. If your looking for more wattage and more power have you considered a DNA 30? Right now fluid vapes out of california has the cloupor Dna 30 new generation with all the bugs fixed and the newer electronic and 510 connection for 69.00dollars. The specs are that it will push 30 watts no matter what resistance your coil is and will sub ohm down to .3. This is a great deal because the 1:1 clones like this usually run 89.00 dollars. And they have in stock, blue, red, black, and silver. I just got a red one for myself. It has the power you might be wanting. If 11 watts isn't cutting it for you, you might consider this device. No waiting list at fluid vapes. My hubby ordered one for himself but he didn't go to fluid vapes and he's on a waiting list for at least a week wait they said. Mines the same cloupor brand new generation and it shipped in 2 days. It's a great deal if your interested. But otherwise if not the kayfun will still run fine on the mvp. It ran perfectly fine on mine and gave me a good vape. But like I said if you want more power look into the Dna 30. It's a great device. Hope this helps and best wishes
