I would say no because it just won't even be close to it potential. If you want a dripper just get one of those smaller 510 drippers. But getting into mechanical mods with an rda is a huge difference for the better imo but make sure you read up into it first.

With respect, OddWolf, you're confusing two different things, here. The fact that most RDAs are designed to handle subohming, which is true, does not mean that one cannot, or should not, use one on an MVP2. It means that if you invest in a good RDA, you can *also* use it to subohm on a different mod, if that's your thing. There is a lot to be said for investing (to whatever extent one can afford to invest, i.e. there's nothing wrong with a $30 RDA if that's what one can afford) in equipment that will "grow" with you, or at least allow you the *potential* to grow in different directions. Basically, you're saying that an RDA isn't "worth it" unless you subohm, and that's not true. Dual coils, usually not worth it unless you sub-ohm... but RDAs in general? Nothing wrong with throwing a single coil in those suckers. You don't "lose" anything by not dual coiling one - you *gain* the ability to dual coil it in the future (with an appropriate mod) if you ever choose to do so.

There *is*, however, a world of difference between a $3 510 dripping atomizer and an actual RDA, both in terms of flavor/vapor/general vape experience, and in terms of the fact that the disposable dripping atomizers don't really teach you anything. If I had considered those a "dripping" experience, I never would have gotten into gennys and RDAs. They have their place for testing juices you're really, really not sure about when you don't want to mess with re-wicking, or for people who have the disposable income and/or lack of inclination to learn to rebuild... and that's fine as far as it goes - for some people, or some situations, that may be just the thing they need.

It's not really what the OP was asking about, though. He said he wants to get into dripping, not that he scored a new bottle of crab juice. ;)

I'm wanting to get into dripping. Not interested in sub ohming or mech mods. Currently using an MVP with a kayfun. I read somewhere on Facebook that it would be pointless to get an RDA and use it on the MVP since it tops out at 11 watts. Is this true even if I'm not wanting to sub ohm? I've been eyeing the Magma RDA btw if that makes any difference.

I use my patriot every day on my mvp2. I use single coil (1.4 ohms) at between 8 & 9 watts depending on juice.
Works great.

I rock an Octopus RDA with a single coil build (usually running between 1.8 and 2.1 ohms) and cotton wicking on top of eGo batteries. Not even eGo Twists, just regular, non-vv, eGos.

I don't even care if I'm not getting the ~full~ potential out of my RDA, I'm getting the best vape yet with this setup. Flavor, vapor, all of it. It's satisfying, it's awesome, I love it, and that's what's actually important here.

How is the battery life on the mvp if chain vaping with a rba

Hours and hours. I recently drove from the Atlanta area to New Orleans and back, about an 18 hour round trip once you figure in the kids and the kittens we were accommodating. Chain vaped the whole way on a fully charged MVP2 with a Kraken, 1.1 ohm coil, set at 7 watts. 18 hours later, I still had 3.8v left in the battery. I very, very rarely manage to run it all the way dead.

Wow, thats amazing, i have maybe two hours max ? I really chain vape haha

One of the huge reasons I went with the MVP2 was the battery life. I don't like dealing with li-ion batteries any more than I have to, and I chain vape like a fiend... I vape pretty much every 5-10 seconds whenever I'm awake. I'd need about 8 AW IMRs in constant rotation to keep up with that, and I just can't be bothered... plus with that many to keep track of, and all/most of them on and off a charger all the time, it'd be easy to make a mistake and end up with an accident waiting to happen.

The downside is that you can't subohm with it, but it gives a *very* nice vape at 1 ohm, so I really don't mind that. For me, the *never* having to worry about my battery is worth the tradeoff.

I used to really like the MVP.

Since the release of the DNA30 clones though, I'm having a hard time justifying an MVP anymore. 11 watt and 1ohm limit for an RBA/RDA is really low, especially when you can get 30 watts and .5 or even .3 ohms and the ability to replace the battery when it dies for only about $20 more.

Crab juice?

Maybe I'm wrong here... But I thought the OP was asking if using an RDA in an MVP was possible?
He even said he did not want to subohm.
Yes it is possible. If not I must be supervapor because I have and do use a patriot on my MVP.
Is it as powerful as the 30 watt generators out there? No it's not. Is it a fog machine like the 30 amp battery operated mechs out there? No it's not.
Do I enjoy it? Yes
Does it put out allot of vape? Yes it does
Does it TASTE as good as the fog machines and pocket size generators? Yes it does.
And it heats up immediately just like they do.
The trick
I've found is making sure the coils are built to work within the devices limitations is all. I went to a local vape shop to have them show me how to set it up to work on the MVP. They were more than happy to help and walk me through it. I would suggest you doing the same. There is something to be said for getting hands on help. I used 28g and wrapped the dual coil to be at 1.4 and she hits really nice for me. Solid throat hit and solid vape that is close to what the cats with the drip machines Get. Makes me think too much focus is out on power output; seems as though there is so much more to it than have 20,30, or 50 watts.
I don't drip often I'm a kayfun guy and the cat at the shop was telling me about some other setups I could do with the patriot to change the vape profile. Bit I can't remember exactly and would rather not give advice than give wrong advice.
But to say it's not possible becAuse you won't maximize output - I saw on one comment.... Whatever
No you just have to work with the device rather than against it.
If you are looking for a 30watt experience though you won't get that but you will get a very nice dripping experience without having to go buy a whole new mod; especially if you're just lookin to play around and learn what you like. You can buy something later after you figure out what it is you want. if you are looking to learn or experiment you have the PERFECT device for that In an MVP. Between the available power and built in safety and adjustments you can't go wrong using it to learn, and explore all the different styles of vaping.
congrats on the mod by the way.

Crab juice?

Just a little levity, Tony. I was addressing the same point you are... that using an RDA on an MVP is very possible and very enjoyable. While there is nothing wrong with using a disposable 510 dripper as some have suggested - those will work, too - the OP was asking if it's possible to use a *rebuildable* dripper on an MVP, and it is.

Disposable drippers have their place, for testing juices you aren't sure about (like crab flavored e-juice, famously known for being terrible), for testing DIY, for reviews, or if you *don't* want to mess with a rebuildable... but the OP clearly said he *does* want a rebuildable, so imo recommending a disposable dripper (even the HH357, the creme de la creme of great disposable drippers) really doesn't address his needs.

I think you make a great point re: the value of having someone show you how to rebuild. For those who don't have a B&M nearby, youtube is a fantastic resource for that, too. Phil Busardo (Pbusardo) and Mark Todd (toddecigreviews), in particular, do really fantastic up close camera work. Those are the guys who taught me how to build a great microcoil. :)

On i wasn't disagreeing with you at all. I saw Someone up there say that it can't be done. Because it's not 30 watts- whatever. Those responses to people trying to explore different types of vaping piss me off. It makes people either not want to bother or go out and think that you have to have " xyz"to have a good vape. If that we're the case I would still be smoking.
I was quoting you to have the same idea on one post.
It almost makes me glad I didn't find exf until after I was a happy vapor. If I came here to learn before I started I never would have.
