Minor point re: batteries......
IIRC.....for the Mini 2.1....it'd be an AW IMR 1100mAH in 18490/18500, rather than a 1600 (in 18650 for the Grand)...??!
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong here......:) TIA!
BTW...CONGRATS on the Mini 2.1!!! I LOVE mine!! Metallic Red w/ Silver Vein door...
Happy (vaping) Trails!

That's my understanding as well. Original mini, 14500 @ 600 mAH. Mini 2.0 and 2.1, 18490 @ 1100 mAH (I don't own one though). Grand, 18650 @ 1600(preferred) or 2000 mAH.

I like the Grand better but not having had a Mini I have no comparison to make. The reasons I haven't picked up a Mini is I have large hands, like having 6 mils of juice, and a big battery. I might get a Mini on the next Woodvil run or maybe pick one up in the classies just so I can say I have one. For sure pick up a extra spring or two. The reason is if you have one you'll never need it if you don't, guess what. Waiting for the SO kit I think is a good idea. But you could just get one now and pick up the SO kit when you order you second Reo. You don't know it yet but you will want another one shortly after your first vape.

Thanks everyone for the options, pics, and ideas. Special props to Robert, Tribal Chief. /lol

Lets see how much self control I have. HA! I'm gonna wait for the Mini upgrades. I've got plenty of RBAs and RDAs to keep me company. As I mentioned before, for out and about I love the form factor and I can live with 3ML and the 18490. HOWEVER, from Roberts post above it would appear that the contacts are the only pending upgrades for the Mini. Correct? I don't chase clouds or relish in sub ohm builds. I am an admitted flavor chaser.

EDIT: I think I'm confused! HA! What exactly will the SO upgrade kit contain? Anything else besides the contacts for my specific use? For example, upgraded magnets or upgraded spring?

:)

I checked reosmods and he does have a Grand sub ohm repair kit shown:

As you can see from Nerak's picture of the kit, it contains everything you might need to rebuild the mod. But of course, if you have everything you need, you won't need any of it :)

In theory, at least, by reducing the voltage drop inherrant in the mod, the battery will last longer. Or, alternately, you can go to a lower resistance (ohms), and the battery will last just as long as a higher resistance. Personally, I don't plan on upgrading more than one of my grands, just to see if I notice a difference in battery life, since I usually vape around 1.6-1.8 ohms. It's *mostly* of interest to the subohm folks, but extra battery life is always a plus.

Having a rebuild kit around, will, though, ensure that you can fix it in a matter of minutes if the unthinkable happens, as opposed to sending it back to Robert for repairs, a matter of days. I believe the best insurance of all is multiple REOs, and A rebuild kit. :)

The reduction in voltage drop will make the same ohm coil hit harder. But this probably only be noticeable at lower ohms.

As the ohm drop amp load and voltage drop increase exponetioanlly.

Doing .6 ohm drop from 2.6 to 2 ohm coil only increases the amp draw by .5 amps

doing the same .6 ohm drop from .9 to .3 increases the amp load by 9.4 amps.

OK REO fans! Last night I ordered a fully upgraded Mini 2.1 black wrinkle along with a gaggle of parts and Rob's Reomizer 2.0 rba. Got my shipped email this AM :)

Question: Are their other RBAs with a deeper well which hold significantly more juice that work with my Mini? Names and or URLs? I'm no stranger to wanna be squonkers and high end RBAs but I may want to upgrade the Reomizer RBA with ? which would obviously extend the time/draws between squonks.

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

SeniorBoy, congratulations on your order. You're going to love it. In my opinion, the RM2 is a great RBA. There area few other bottom-feeder attys, and others will be along who can talk about them, but I think you'll find that the RM2 is one of the best. With the bottom-feeding, you don't really need an atomizer that holds more. You have your entire juice supply available just by squonking. What will give you more vapes between squonks will be your coil/wick configuration/materials. With the bottom feeding, the excess juice that's not absorbed by the wick will drain back into the bottle. This keeps the juice fresh. Once you get your set-up, it'll make more sense. Just know that the RM2 is a really good atty for the REO. You may want to get others, but you will not be unhappy with the RM2. It's certainly not chopped liver. Many of us use the RM2s exclusively.

EDIT: Exactly what Raynman said.

OK! I think and hope I'm ready for my badge and secret handshake. :)

Special thanks to @super_X_drifter for an outstanding thread on builds and the icing on the cake with the proper alignment of the coil and the air hole (note my oring in the pic) just to make sure I gain admittance to REO Ville /lol

My previous post could have been worded better. For me it is about how many draws before you need to el sqonko combined with a proper build and proper placement of the coil on the mod and of course the air hole must sit directly in front of the coil. You guys are experience enough to understand you can strive for all of these issues concurrently without missing a beat.

Actually, I was surprised at how easy it is to el squonko. Kudos to Rob for such a well designed Mod and the upgrade. I got it last night and have already experimented with five different builds and a couple of different drip tips since I'm a flavor chaser. Think its time for me to just vape and stop my bloody tweaking but I can't help myself. /lol

Thanks again for your help

:)

Welcome to Reoville Seniorboy. Long thread here but you finally arrived. Official Reonaut at last. A great mod for discriminating vapers who don't like their mods to roll away. Cubistic mods in Reoville. Here's your well earned Reonaut official badge. It might be garbage day on Tuesday in Vegas but its Wednesdays in Reoville.

The fat lady is a little tired today. She's got some cheesecake loaded up in her first mod. She's tryin to cut back on the weight, doctor said ma'am, you've broken every scale in the office! We can't afford to treat you! But I digress, that set-up is running a smooth 1.2 ohm micro. With that cotton wick trimmed just a tad outside of each end.

In her other grand with an external power supply (that's what those massive cans are for of course), she has some Monster e-juice loaded up with a rm2 that has a dual coil build rockin at .5 ohms with the new SO kit installed. It is truly vaping like a monster.

When I squonk I watch the rm2's air hole to see when the juice is covering it, it shouldn't leak out unless you keep pressing harder after that. Then when you got a feel for when it hits that spot, apply the same pressure blindly! And you're in business :)

Grats on the REO, hope it's everything you thought it would be AND MORE!
