My first RY4! (LOVE)

So after trying SO many different e-liquids from Vixen Vapors, Pink Spot, & Delaware Vapors I have been sticking to my one favorite. Zom B Gone (Extreme menthol and triple flavor)

But recently I've noticed I've been craving an actual tobacco flavor, so I decided to give Vixen Vapors Menthol RY4 (double flavor, medium menthol) and OH MY GAWD. So good. I found my new favorite.

Does your RY4 have the kinda nutty taste? Been searching this fourm the that taste with tobacco with the hint of nutty at the end.

My favorite RY4 with the nutty flavor is Tribeca from Halo. Hopefully Monday's vapemail will have my wizard lab's order so I can make fogman's clone.

I have ry4x4 from flavorz by joe. The flavor is ok but the high pg base kinda ruins it.

9 times out of 10 the nutty taste is a flavor molecule called acetyl pyrazine (Perfumers Apprentice - Acetyl Pyrazine 5% (PG)). It's called AP for short in the DIY forum. A little goes a long long way. .1 - .3mls per 10mls of juice is the preferred range for most (I like 1% or .1 mls per 10mls). I typically mix all my tobacco flavors with AP. You can get 15mls for $4. If you have any pre-mixed juice that you think is "missing that nutty flavor" you can easily doctor it and match your preferred flavor profile without chasing vendor juice.

If you go too far it becomes overpowering but used correctly it is an outstanding flavor enhancer.

I also taste nothing nutty in Tribeca but others have mentioned it as an undertone. I think it is more of a popcorn, toasted corn taste that may seem like it's nutty. The Big Thread lists Tribeca as blended, balanced and unique.

With so many RY4 flavors available I don't see why. Some taste horrible, some taste great. It's become a generic name and doesn't say anything about the actual taste anymore.

Just ordered some of the Want2Vape RY4 based on the recs in the roundup thread. PrimeVapor is down for maintenance, OzarkFresh appears to be defunct (?), and BackwoodsBrew doesn't list RY4 or a new batch date, at least not that I could find. Hopefully W2V is good!

I did not ADD menthol. Vixen Vapors sells a Menthol RY4. I can't vape anything unless it's menthol. To each their own.

Sort of. I mostly get a caramel-type flavor. Fiance says it smells like a good cigar. I had another person tell me it smells like vanilla perfume. So, idk.

You will want to note some of the RY4's listed at A+ in the big RY4 Roundup thread were last eveluated in 2011. For example, I ordered a 30ml bottle of Bloog RY4 because it was stated in that thread that it is the exact same juice as Smokeless Image/Volt RY4, which was not available for a couple months. I received the Bloog and it was like vaping wet gym socks. Really horrible.. I kept it for a month or two and finally tossed it. After mentioning this in that thread it turns out it's now not the same juice as it used to be and I was going off old information. Luckily SI/Volt now has theirs back in stock and I'm happily vaping away on it as I type. Some would argue (including me) that Tribeca isn't an RY4. It has a lot more going on and is much more intense than your typical RY4. I do love it dearly though.
