I went to Vapejam at the London ExCel exhibition center in East London yesterday. I was hoping there would be more hardware on offer, but it was 99% juice vendors which turned out OK. I have been DIYing for over five years and have managed to turn out three of my own juices worthy of being an ADV. I've never tried premium juices so this was an opportunity to address that. This was also the first vape meet I have been to and I thoroughly enjoyed it, to be in a room with so many vapers was brilliant. The room is 400 meters across, but at some points you couldn't see the far wall for the vaporz.
I tried a LOT of juices, but I can only remember specifics on a few.
Decadent Vapours - UK
They were giving this one away free, so it was the only one I tried. They were distributing from a British icecream van which was novel.
Brekvest - Tangy orange marmalade on well-done toast. Absolutely delicious, but too strong to vape neat even though it is supposed to be ready to vape.
Spacejam - CA
Irresistibly pretty women on the taste station, which had nothing at all to do with me stopping.
I tried Astro, Pluto and Omega. I found them all massively over powering and a bit soapy. So, disappointing.
Five Pawns - CA
Beautifully presented stand with a well dressed and informed gentleman who took me through all the elements of what he considered made FP the premiere juice company. Apparently they use specific binders that allow them to 'layer' flavors and not just mix them. The juices were good, but not worth the razzmatazz OR the monumental price tag. $23 for 30ml is extortionate.
Queenside - Blood orange and vanilla. This was my favorite, very tasty indeed.
Bowdens Mate - Mint choc vanilla. Very tasty but mint isn't for me.
Gambit - Apple pie caramel vanilla. Delicious, this was the one that actually delivered on the layered claim, the flavor came in stages.
Cuttwood - CA
They only had three flavors, I loved them all and asked how much they were. The guy told me they were not retailing and gave me all three 16.5ml bottles for free. Which was nice.
Sugar Drizzle - Cinnamon bakery cream. Utterly delicious, hard to stop vaping it.
Unicorn Milk - Strawberries and cream. Very very good indeed.
Mega Melons - Melon Cantaloupe Papaya. As good as it sounds.
Charlie's Chalk Dust - CA
All very good, but two stood out from the rest which I bought as they were selling them for £10 for 30ml, normally £16.99.
Mustache Milk - Sweet cereal. Sweet and cereally, irresistible, what can I say.
Honey Badger - Honey brushed tobacco with smooth cream. This one was amazing. The honey is more like the way that bees wax smells than honey itself with a long milky after taste. Winner.
I now understand why people are prepared to shell out big bucks for premium juices. Whether I abandon my DIY efforts is still to be seen. I think I would find it hard to keep paying the kind of prices some of them are asking as I know how little the basic ingredients cost. We'll see once I've vaporized my supplies.
