First one is a simple USB passthru with an LED indicator.
It's in a small old project box that used to be labled "remote control project box" from RadioShack.
LED in off mode:
Led when on:
Top side showing "M" panel connector and momentary 3A switch:
The next one is in a RS medium sized box, 1"x2.25"x1.5" roughly. Inside it's got the board from the mini digipower unit shown in another thread. I put a 3.7V 750mah flat cell batt in it from a zen micro. Right now it's only working as a 5V passthru because the circuit board is kicking in protection when not USB powered, so I'm going to RS to pick up another switch to make it go from 3.7V on the Batt, then switch to passthru mode for 5V.
Edit: Done with the honey-do let's add some more
I have some 18650's on order and a few flashlights laying around. Have the voltage boosters on the way too. I can't wait to build a few more with big boy batteries in them. Using all of these on cartomizers, because they seem the easiest to me at this point. Maybe I'll order some 901 atties and carts as well since they have the same connector.
Thanks to all of the modders that have put up instructables, it's been a long time since I've played with this type of stuff (cb stuff back in the mid 90's). Your pics and direction have helped me greatly in getting started. I can't wait to start playing with the nicer looking mods (maybe a fistpack in the near future)
The most amazing thing about getting back into electronics tinkering is how much more my hands shake when trying to solder today than they did back then
