My first vape at work.

So far everyone that smokes at work is very interested. They all can't get over that a electronic device looks just like a real cigarette. All of them wanted to try it and those that didn't smoke wondered if it was stinky. That's about what I expected when showing them.

But one night a co-worker had her sons b-day party at work and my boss comes running to the back while I'm working away and ask's if she can see my e-cig. Well I had my PCC and m401 with some juice on me so I gave her the whole setup. Next thing I know I'm pulled away from working so I can give demonstrations on how it works. after about 30 mins of talking to people and passing out the cards I've received soon my whole town will be using them.

Makes me want to start my own PV shop.

I did have one co-worker go off on a tangent about the FDA report. I simply asked him to google FDA report e-cigs thousands times safer than traditional cigarettes. He came back the next day and asked for a website so his wife could buy one.

It's catching on so fast my wifes mother, who is a hard nosed stubborn woman is now proudly vaping on a m401.

Great story, Acroma! I've ben told countless times "I've never seen anything like that before" and my usuall response is something to the effect of "Get used to seeing them. You'll be seeing a LOT more of them in the near future."

I vape at work all the time, but so far I'm still the only one.

Sounds like you had a great response from your co-workers. I had a similar reaction at work. The owner of my company, who is 82yrs old and a non smoker thought it was great then encouraged all the other company managers to get them so we could vape in the office instead of going outside.

I Vape in the office all the time, I let everyone know ahead of time that I was getting one. My original intent was to Vape indoors and still smoke outside but when I got my PV I finished my last pack of smokes and have yet to buy another one. It's been 72 days. Vape on vapers!

We can only imagine how much nicer it would be if more and more owners/managers allowed their employees to vape freely at their desks/workstations. Of course there would be exceptions such as those who are preparing and handling foods such as cooks and waitresses and others where the use of PV's just wouldn't be either practical or ethical. But rather than employees taking smoke breaks and walking around smelling like stale cigs all day, imagine the increased productivity and boost in morale of all employees?

I remember an employer once looked directly at me at a company meeting and quoted that "It is a known fact that smokers are a much less productive employee..." I didn't appreciated his reference at the time, but I also realized that there was some truth to what he said.

Also, if my boss were a smoker I would be sure to go out of my way to introduce him or her to the world of vaping. It just might make vaping on the job a possibility!

I'm the only smoker in my office of 10 people. My boss doesn't mind at all if I vape in my office, it smells better than the ash tray outside and I suppose what I smelled like before.

I work in a factory.. about 90% of the people there smoke, and have to go outside.
Before i got my 510 i talked to my supervisor and told him about it. when i finnally got it in the mall i let him use 1 and he liked it.. since that day ive just been vapin all day inside the building..
The most i get is people doing a double take because they cant figure out if they just saw me blowing smoke out or not. So far ive turned 6 coworkers and 5 family members and 4 friends onto e cigs..
I did have a few people laugh at me when they heard about my ecig.. but i went and stood next to them and puffed away on my 510.. and said man i cant wait for break time (3 hours away) where we work we can not go outside to smoke sept at break.. so they kinda stopped laughing when they realized i was moking them..
its so nice to be able to smoke inside agian..

I have been vaping in my office all week and my employees' office next door. We were all waiting to clock out tonight and one of my new gals commented that it didn't stink like a cigarette does.

I am taking a "better to ask forgiveness than permission" stance with my client who almost never drops by my office, I figure I'll have more ground to stand on when I cross that bridge if I can ask him if it stinks like I've been smoking in there for weeks when we have that conversation. My boss is on vacation right now and I leave for mine as soon as he gets back. He's a smoker, and I know he's been trying to quit, so I'm pretty sure I can convert him. I know the one or two times we've run into people in the common areas they've been allowed to vape away. I won't vape in front of customers for the same reasons I wouldn't walk around munching a cheeseburger or drinking a coke, it's just rude.

All in all I figure I'm pretty safe as we do have one of the few workplaces left where smokers have an interior area to do their thing, so the people are more open-minded here than in most places.

All in all I figure I'm pretty safe as we do have one of the few workplaces left where smokers have an interior area to do their thing, so the people are more open-minded here than in most places.

Hah! Not here, even when it's 0 degrees... they said it's because of our new state law.

I am really doubtful that I'll be allowed to vape at my desk at my job because there are some antismoking nazis who would probably ..... based on general principles, but I am tempted to show it off to the one boss on our management team that smokes and see what he says. If he says it's cool when it's too dang hot or cold I might go do it in the lobby, but I can't picture them letting me do it at my desk.

Even if it would make me 20 times more productive and nice to our customer

I was, admittedly, speaking in sweeping generalizations there... it helps that said enclosed area is under the direct command of the operations manager, who smokes, and the workforce has a majority of smokers (some of whom I am trying to convert...)

Well, I'm management in a retail setting, but see above for those caveats that apply to my apparently unique and alien situation

I generally treat it like eating or drinking, i.e. don't do it on the floor in front of customers. I was vaping in my office that I share with my boss, but he was on vacation and I haven't had a chance to talk with him about it.

During my recent vacation I snuck several drags in various stores' restrooms (and occasionally in more public areas) and never had adverse reactions from those around me. I just wrap my hand around the LED, push the button with my thumb, and hold the vapor in my lungs longer so there's less visible effect.

I can vape in the staff lounge, so much better than it used to be when you had to go outside to smoke and then had to be so many feet from the building.
