Well hello!
First of all, I will let everyone know that I have absolutely NO idea what I am doing!
I bought my eGo-c around January and I have been using it regularly since. Of course I purchased the pretty pearly pink one, and because I have been smoking menthols for the last 4 years, I bought 10 mL of PrimoVapor PG Based Blend (whatever that means?) in Menthol. I have tried Strawberry, Minty Gum, and Peach (all PrimoVapor PG Based Blend) and have not found one that I absolutely love or care for more over the others. It has been 7 full days since I have smoked tobacco, and I am SO proud of myself!
I have quite a few questions that I have been searching the answer for, and I always end up here on the ECF. So I decided it was time for me to join in :)
I bought my starter kit from VaporKings out of Tulsa which came with: two 650mAh lithium-ion batteries (I have to charge one every night), five type A tanks (I fill once a day), two atomizer bases, two atomizer covers, and five replaceable atomizer heads.

TANKS
Am I supposed to use a new tank every time I refill? I just top off my liquid and plug it back in... I only change tanks when I switch from Menthol to my Fruity flavors, and I place the silicone cap back on and throw it back in the box...
How often am I supposed to toss it and open a new one?

ATOMIZER
I don't know what kind of atomizer head I am using! There are Type A's and B's, and then those each come in 2.2 Ohm and 1.8 Ohm... Again, I am lost.
How often am I supposed to change my atomizer head?
Do you just throw them away?

CLEANING
How in the world do I safely, as to not damage my cig, clean this thing?! It's not "dirty" but there is liquid on the inside cover and in the atomizer base. Plus it can't be healthy to put this in my mouth day in and day out without washing it.

MODIFICATIONS
I'll save this for a later thread... Because I know there are about a ba-jillion things to look into.

Hi amber and welcome to the Forum! Congratulations on getting off the stinkies!

TANKS

There's nothing wrong with using the same tank as long as you're not noticing any problems with the flavour or leaking. Keeping strong flavours in separate tanks is a very good idea. I used to use my tanks for about a week and then toss them, but you could probably get a bit longer than that out of them if you wanted. The one thing I did do religiously every time I refilled them was to replace the end cap because I found that, if I didn't, I'd have problems with leaking. If you've got needle top bottles for your juices, you could probably refill the tank many times without having to replace the end cap.

ATOMIZER
I don't know what kind of atomizer head I am using! There are Type A's and B's, and then those each come in 2.2 Ohm and 1.8 Ohm... Again, I am lost.

It's difficult to say which head you're using without looking at your device. If the atomizer cone is thinner at one end, you're using Type A. EDIT: The clue's in your original post - you're using Type A tanks! I think (and somebody please correct me if I'm wrong) that the only real difference is that the Type B can hold slightly more e-liquid. In my opinion, it's not worth changing your current setup because you'd have to buy new cones, tanks and atomizers. Type A's seem to be a lot more common anyway.

The 2.2 ohm atomizer head is a higher resistance than the 1.8 ohm head. On a fixed voltage device like your eGo-C, the higher the resistance the cooler the vape. Most starter kits come with the 2.2 ohm heads. If you wanted something a bit warmer and which gives a stronger throat hit than what you're currently using, you could try the 1.8 ohm atomizers.

CLEANING
How in the world do I safely, as to not damage my cig, clean this thing?! It's not "dirty" but there is liquid on the inside cover and in the atomizer base. Plus it can't be healthy to put this in my mouth day in and day out without washing it.

To clean the atomizer cone, just run it under hot water and leave it to dry. If you can't wait, use a paper towel. You can use the same method to clean the tanks and the atomizer base. If you want to clean the atomizer itself, leave it soaking in vodka or grain alcohol overnight and then give it a good 24 hours to dry out. I used to clean my atties once a week to keep them fresh.

Thanks JJ! I am so proud of myself, and it feels wonderful to breath again!
I will definitely start cleaning the atomizers now! I wasn't aware that they could be cleaned and used again. Will it stop working eventually, and that's when I know I need to put a new one in? Or will it have a taste that cleaning won't get rid of?
I have gotten pretty particular to the cooling sensation I get from this atomizer, but I thought it was just the menthol liquid. Maybe I should try the 1.8 Ohm head just incase I like that one as well :)
I did purchase the needle-nosed bottle because I didn't know the end caps came off (stupid me!) and was making a mess trying to drip it into that tiny opening! Haha!

It sounds like you have the type A atomizer. This is a better choice IMO. It will be cheaper in the long run. I would recomend to try the 1.8ohm as they are a little warmer on the vape. I prefer that on most of my setups.

As for time to replace them, it will reach a point where cleaning it does not help and it wont warm up enough to create the vapor. I would recomend cleaning them every couple of days. Or maybe just rinse them off every night. I haven't figured out a good system for that. I have just been waiting until it seems to be cooling off a little and then clean it out. It has been working for me so far..

As for replacing the tanks I wait unitl it seems like they are leaking to much and then replace them. I have been using mine on and off for about 3 weeks and have throw out 1 tank and replaced the atomizer once. I like the fact tha I can try our different jucies with minimal fuss/hassle. But I would recomend keeping the stronger juices to one tank. All in all Ithink it is a good system and it does seem to work well.

So far so good. Nice kit!

The tanks will last a long time. You don't have to toss them at all. And even if that little silicone cap gets worn out, you can get replacement caps. Just wash them and dry them well for storage--a simple rinse in warm water is all you need to do.

ATOMIZER
I don't know what kind of atomizer head I am using! There are Type A's and B's, and then those each come in 2.2 Ohm and 1.8 Ohm... Again, I am lost.

eGo-C atomizers come in two types; Type A (cone shaped, ca. 1 ml capacity) and Type B (cylinder shaped, ca. 2 ml capacity). The little atomizer coils come in 1.8Ω and 2.2Ω resistance. The 1.8Ω ones will give you a hotter vape, the 2.2Ω ones are cooler. If you vape fruit flavors, they prefer cooler temps; menthols can go either way, whatever you prefer; tobaccos and coffees like it hot.

You should be proud of yourself, amber - it's a real achievement!

Just wanted to pick up on a couple of things you said. First, the cooling sensation you describe probably does come from the menthol juice. The 2.2 ohm atty doesn't have a cooling effect per se - it's just cooler than than 1.8 ohm head. Does that make sense? In other words: with the 1.8 ohm head you'll still get the cooling effect from the menthol, but you'll notice that the vapour itself is slightly warmer and you might get a stronger throat hit.

Second, you're absolutely right about knowing when to change the atomizer - eventually they'll just stop working as well as they used to, or they'll stop working entirely! With regular cleaning, I've managed to make some of them last as long as 3 months before the coil popped.

Hi Amber, another thing to get ready for.......understanding different devices. I was and still am with a little bit of knowledge purchased through trial and error. :D I really liked my Ego C and still have it.....but have gone onto better other things. I didn't throw out my used attys because I saw a thread about this engineer who used an Ultra Sonic Jewelery Cleaner to revive most of his Ego attys. Never got the cleaner and still have the Ego C primarily as my wife and I's backup.(The thread mentioned that they were around $20 at Walmart) 3 consecutive 3 minute baths did the trick for him) Now Aqua Vapors has the 5 pack replacement attys for your device. Joyetech for $18 or knockoffs for $12.....the 12 dollar knockoffs work just as well as the Joyetch's. We are currently using the Vision Spinners VV for batteries coupled with the UDCT tank from Smoketech with cartos....absolutely flawless....and they are also flawless. Did I mention they were flawless??? Juice recommendations...Copper Creek House Blend....EC Blends....and I haven't received my order yet from MtBakerVapor, but I am waiting anxiously....should be here in the morning. The prices are absolutely ridiculous and highly recommended on here. Enough from me.....good luck. Pat and Lisa

Well done !

I started with the same set up ... Well with out pink battery's just silver for me.

Sounds as if you are doing better than I did with them. Found I liked vaping but no matter what I did couldn't get the Ego C to work.

I had issues with liquids too. Spent a load of money before I found the Juice of the Year thread and started going through the list. Out of the top 5 3 are still in my daily vape rota. Not sure of there was a 2012 one.

15 months in now and vaping is as much a hobby as a means to stop smoking.

Been having so much fun my only regret is not finding it earlier !

Watch the video. :)
That video was very informational! Thank you! I just took my atomizer apart and cleaned it with confidence!!

You should be proud of yourself, amber - it's a real achievement!
I am so happy! The best part is walking into a room and knowing that I don't smell like a stale ashtray! That, and I feel like my lung capacity has doubled! Perhaps I could go for a run again!!! .... Just kidding ;) I'm not going to go run lol

Thanks for the well wishes P&L! Now... What is the difference if I use a cartomizer?
I have heard good things about Copper Creek! I'll have to check them out!

Today hasn't been a pleasant one, unfortunately. Pretty sure I put my cranky pants on this morning by accident. Everything had been irritating the living hell out of me!
The worst part? My taste buds are super sensitive :( I can hardly eat or drink anything without it overpowering my tongue with taste! I'm going to have to go bland I suppose, at least for the time being. Any suggestions on what to vape? My strawberry is making my tongue feel scratchy because it's not used to actually tasting anything... I AM SO SAD!

See, I can't vape many flavors because they are just too strong for me. I choose clean, clear, barely flavored eliquids. You can always dilute your strong-tasting juices with unflavored; just grab a bottle of unflavored nic base in your strength (PG, VG or a PG/VG blend) and add it to your ejuice.

Good for you! So glad to hear no smoking! Let's everybody switch. Cigarettes are nasty.

I still use the eGo-C and feel no need to look at any other device. I keep eight batteries and four Joyetech atomizers in rotation. Tried the clearomizers - ick. I find I prefer the Type A tanks - smaller, sleeker. Type B tanks - I like the mouthpiece, but it's kinda big - and 3 ml is a lot of commitment for a single flavor. Have two of each, and have been using these exclusively for weeks and weeks now. I toss the tanks when they get a little skanky or I'm looking at them with some apprehension because it's been a while. I toss the atomizer when the draw gets a little hard and/or the tank leaks a bit much. I get a month on each atomizer, with, again, four in rotation. I, personally, can't be bothered to try to revive them with a cleaning.

The LR atomizers - out of five in the pack, three were bad, couldn't get a draw for anything - too many painful dry hits. Won't be buying more, although when they do draw nicely, it's a great vape. In my opinion, SR atomizers - reliable as clockwork, but not as big. Darker flavors like coffee, tobacco or chocolate taste better on the LR atomizers. Light fruity, bakery, and floral vapes taste better on the SR atomizers.

Joyetech design and build is good. You should get some durability and enjoyment out of your eGo-C.

Stay off the stinkies! Anyway, I'm sold. Good luck.
