Kris

i don't know about that....but...REAL men like myself vape at 110v...no need for a mod just wires from outlet to atty ....and you think a 510 has throat hit?:p

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Imeo, i think i have a request...110v wall adapter for GGTS:D these exposed high voltage wires kinda scare me when they start sparking...

I will wait for the atties after the cleaning:)

It appears they have risen from the dead to vape again!!!

One is back to life and I am vaping on it now.... As for the other 2 I have only put them on the device for quick testing and I can hear the sizzling noise when I activate the device.. That tells me it's getting the power through the atty.... I will try the other 2 out to make sure they actually vape for about an hour at a time for all 3...

One is definitely back to life and it looks like the other 2 may be as well...

Odd.... I am using my AW 10440 batteries that are 3.7v and 350mah... The ones I got from VK are 3.6v...

Here is how I cleaned them: (I have a jewelry ultra sonic cleaner that has 2 separate cleaning bins. One is for solution and the other side is for hot water)

I cleaned them in crest solution for 2 hours on high, then put them into the hot water tank and cleaned them for 2 hours on low...

I'd also like to add that VK support was awesome in this... They ROCK!

It looks like I wasted their time though as they are back to life!

Yay.... Ordered 5 more today and a few SLB 901's to keep for emergency purposes...

I know this is not the VK forum, but I wanted to add that they rock and were very helpful when we *thought* the i3's were dead...

good to hear you got all of them back to life already! what do you think was causing this to happen to your atties?

all i can think of is a bad connection from some sort of gunk or residue, that you cleaned out i guess.

I am nowhere even close enough of an expert on atty's to answer that... I'd have to agree though that it may have been some gunk on the inside...

I clean the Slim every night including the threads and contacts and I blow out the atty and drain it every night as well so I can only assume something inside the atty caused the issue...

Since Imeo made them, perhaps he would have a better reason for it because I really have no clue...

I know a good cleaning has brought them back from what appeared to be a sudden and early death.....

The final verdict on the 3 dead i3 atomizers....

2 of the 3 have risen from the ashes to vape again..... One suffered an early death...

As a note and a warning I will add that the one that was not able to be saved was the one that I boiled in hot water 1st....

The 2 that I did not boil and only gave a sonic bath, are alive and well....

So a word of caution to NOT boil these in hot water for now... Perhaps #3 would have still been dead if I had not boiled it 1st... What I do know is the one I boiled was not able to be revived...

I dont have a clue too Raq but I have to look at it even if you are the only one that had this issue.

Thanks for telling me this my friend, that will help me a lot to make even better products.:):)

No worries... They work great!

I love them so much, I have 8 more i3 atomizers on the way from Vapor Kings! :woot:

The one that is still dead is the one I boiled 1st... So they may not like boiling....

Why they failed in the 1st place I have NO clue but they were revived with a good sonic bath...

:thumbs up:

from what I have been reading, most people who boiled any of the atty's has killed them. The sonic cleaner seems like a good way to go, I just ordered one myself, and hope to revive a few clogged attys of mine. What I have been doing to clean mine, is simply running warm, but not so hot you can't keep your fingers under it, tap, then blow dry(mouth) to get excess water out, then use my electric blow drier on the cold setting to help get more of the water out, then letting them sit, thread side up, over night. This has kept them running for a while, but they do eventually get so much gunk in the fiber glass and mesh that you can't just rinse them clean. This is where I hope the sonic cleaner will come in. I also found another thread about carefully removing the mesh/bridge and fiberglass threads out of the atomizer, exposing the coil, then I carefully take a safety pin and gently scrape the build up off the coil, trying not to damage the coil. The hard part is not pulling the inner workings out when you remove the bridge. I use a tooth pick to hold against the ceramic piece inside while I carefully pull up on the bridge, after removing the mesh. I have done this to several of my 510 atty's that I thought were dead, they heated up, too much, and no longer produced vapor. I quickly found out why, the coils were crusted over and not making contact with the liquid. Also I think the air hole was getting blocked by the gunk. Now, I have to advise you only try this on atty's you know are not working right, and you have exhausted all other possibilities of cleaning/replacing with warranty etc... The only down side to removing the wick/bridge is the constant need to drip. But I have been working on a screen mod to fix this problem (at least for my 510 atty) that has been working pretty good so far. I have posted my findings about this in these threads:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/cartridge-mods/38161-brass-screen-mod.html

go to pg 19 and scroll down to where I have a photo posted, and my mod.

this is where I found the info about recovering your dead atty:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/polls/56499-510-atomizer-resurrection-mod.html

I am not taking any credit for coming up with these idea, simply expanding on them, and trying to share the info where I feel it will be useful.

I don't know how easy it will be to remove the bridge/mesh/fiberglass from the 901 atty since it is much deeper, but it is worth a try if it is heating, but not making vapor. Better than just tossing it out, without a try. I regret throwing away a few atty's that would not vape, but got hot. I just thought I had fried them. Good luck!

BTW, I just got my slim today, tried it out, and it worked just fine, though it does have that black greasy stuff on the threaded ends, not sure why, I found that to be a little messy. I am still deciding if it will be a keeper or not, just because I am testing out many other mods right now. I have nothing negative to say about the function of the GG slim at this point, I tested it with both the i3 and one of my 510 atty and got good vapor from both, once I broke in the new i3. After a few good puffs, I took off the i3 and rinsed it clean, set aside to dry, in case I don't keep it, I want to keep the atty in good condition for the next person. I will keep an open mind until I have a chance to get used to it, and also try out a few other batterie mods.

I use to boil 510's all the time without incident... Maybe I just got lucky in the past... I usually only give them a sonic bath if they are working but performance has declined and boil them when they are dead...

I might have to rethink the whole boil them thing as the extended sonic bath did them well....

Also, these are not the regular SLB 901's... These are the iemo created 901 atomizers (i am using the i3) and they do provide a 510 like kick....
