My homemade squonker. Opinions and suggestions.

Hey guys.

I am not looking to produce these for sale, but I had the parts lying around so I ordered a bottom feeding kit from Fat Daddy Vapes to see if I like squonking before looking into purchasing the much more "finished" Reo Grande. This is an unregulated Hammond 1590g boxmod with a MOSFET and bottom-feeding kit/FDV 510.

Please tell me what you think, and also let me know if there is anything I could have done better. Thanks!

P.S. Has anyone swapped out a Zenith v2 center post for a BF version? I have one coming in, but I have never played with center posts. Is this an easy process? Can I swap posts back if I ever need to?

I imagine you will get a little sample of squonking and the joys of a bottom feeder with your quest.

But as a system the REO is flawless.

I hope your invention does prove to you a REO would be more than worth the price.

In the meantime enjoy your ability to drip from the bottom up!

So far I am very impressed. Honestly, my local vape shop sells Reos and I have been eyeing them lovingly lol. I drilled out a terrible clone for bottom feeding and it is currently ruining the experience. If I can get the bottom feeding pin installed into my Zenith, I forsee me buying a Reo very soon (read: as soon as my wife will not kill me for the expense :D).

It's certainly no Reo, and I wouldn't suggest that it is. I just like tinkering and thought it was worth a shot for the cost of $15 since I had the rest of the stuff already. I will gladly retire it to backup status when I can find a LP Reo Grand.

Thanks for your input.

Thanks unsure.

I guess I should just let this thread die (I can't figure out how to delete it), and come back once I have a Reo Grand. I was not really considering that it may be considered improper posting this here when I posted. I kind of think of Reo's as synonymous with bottom feeders, so I figured this was the place to look. Bad form on my part and I apologize.

Thanks for linking that thread, that's where I found the information on where to order the conversion kit. I was just hoping someone had already done it so they could let me know how difficult swapping the post actually was. It is coming in today so I will likely just figure it out on my own.

Thanks for the positive comments. I apologize again for posting this in the Reo Suppliers section. I apologize to Rob of Reomods too. I'm new to these forums, and I thought this was the appropriate spot.

I would like to reiterate that I have ZERO intentions of producing more than one of these. I only vape authentic (with the exception of the Helio clone that was given to me to drill out for a temp BF atty while I wait for my Zenith BF kit), and I would never dream of stealing Rob's hard work. It is not who I am. I support ingenuity, design, and quality-made products.

I will be back when funds allow me to join Reoville.

come on guys! this is not competition nor trying to clone stuff

I love it looks really great!

Good call Vapero...I get not wanting to see a flood of batt mods posted here (there's other places for that here on ECF) but to throw up his bf creation and furthering our cause can't be that bad a thing right?

Nice work POstal...now buy a Reo before we egg your house :p

I caught A LOT of flack for a similar post not too long ago. I built a regulated steampunk-style bottomfeeder. Needless to say, I was flamed for posting in REOville.

Fast forward... The circuit failed. I bought a REO TRA. I haven't looked at replacing the failed hardware on my homemade box. I don't need to. I own a REO.

Your build looks functional and I hope you enjoy it. You will be so surprised by the superior performance of a REO when you (and your wife) get around to making the purchase. Vape on!

You weren't disrespecting anything or anybody. Don't let anyone pressure you. Others have posted their creations here and so can you. The issue is if you disrespect REOs, Rob or REOnauts which you didn't. I just tried to point you to an additional thread for better responses of ideas and feedback. No need for apologies...Im sorry if my 1st post came across as anything but helpful. All threads die in good time you don't need to expedite the process. lol
