Fyi... Robert does have a design patent on the Reo Grand that was filed back in 2010. Not sure where it's at, but I've read it. It contains many pages of drawings, patterns, and measurments of the Reo.
You did a good job designing the mod, but it's exactly the same a Reo Grand, and is an infringement on Rob's patent. If you decide to make profit from this design, you'll most likely have a legal battle on your hands.
Nice job P0stalTek nothing wrong with building your own box mod
...Interesting though that nearly all if not all respected bottom-feed mod builders on ECF own a Reo, I think its used as a benchmark for overall performance, ease of use, price, availability and customer service.
Totally agree...I've built dozens of bf mods over the years (only to give them away or re-re-re build them). I have the parts down in the shop and I've gotten good enough at it where I can build one in one rainy Sunday, yet oddly enough I'm never without at least 4-5 Grands withing reach...they're simply the gold standard.
And even though I'm way over the fear of hacking and modifying actual Grands, save for making it a hybrid (a pretty decent performance upgrade, albeit severely limiting it's adaptability) I've never been able to better the basic design...pure genius in it's simplicity.
Kumbaya, my lord, Kumbaya.......c'mon, everybody join in............![]()
hold on .... start over... I dropped my marshmallow![]()
You should have picked up a REO and posted a pic of it on this thread in the REO Supplier Forum.
At least that is my opinion on what you should have done.
