Fyi... Robert does have a design patent on the Reo Grand that was filed back in 2010. Not sure where it's at, but I've read it. It contains many pages of drawings, patterns, and measurments of the Reo.

You did a good job designing the mod, but it's exactly the same a Reo Grand, and is an infringement on Rob's patent. If you decide to make profit from this design, you'll most likely have a legal battle on your hands.

OP posted that he built it for his own use and had no intentions of selling it. It's just a cool box mod in an aluminum box, just like mebbe hundreds that have been posted to ECF. OP's is pretty cool, since he made it a bottom-feeder. He has already re-posted it in the "right" sub-forum.

While i'm usually among the first to b-slap other modders about posting in Reoville, methinks he did no wrong, and responded with aplomb.

Let's all cut him some slack, and let this thread die. here's his re-post for further comment http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...y-homemade-squonker-opinions-suggestions.html

...an infringement on Rob's patent?...you'll most likely have a legal battle on your hands?...way, waaay over the top:facepalm:

I'm with Mama...let's try and keep Reoville a little less draconian...

Let's take a breath and end this thread in a song...(let's do it in a round, come on, it'll be fun...)

Soft kitty, Warm kitty, Little ball of fur...Happy kitty, Sleepy kitty, Purr Purr Purr......

Nice job P0stalTek nothing wrong with building your own box mod

Wonderful statement - thats how Reo's came about.

Interesting though that nearly all if not all respected bottom-feed mod builders on ECF own a Reo, I think its used as a benchmark for overall performance, ease of use, price, availability and customer service.

Totally agree...I've built dozens of bf mods over the years (only to give them away or re-re-re build them). I have the parts down in the shop and I've gotten good enough at it where I can build one in one rainy Sunday, yet oddly enough I'm never without at least 4-5 Grands withing reach...they're simply the gold standard.

And even though I'm way over the fear of hacking and modifying actual Grands, save for making it a hybrid (a pretty decent performance upgrade, albeit severely limiting it's adaptability) I've never been able to better the basic design...pure genius in it's simplicity.

I agree with this. I build my own mods too but I use my modified reo's all day every day, def says something about the reo design :)

You should have picked up a REO and posted a pic of it on this thread in the REO Supplier Forum.

At least that is my opinion on what you should have done.

Dear Karen,

I have grown so accustomed to people on the internet saying 'should of' that I almost misread your post as having committed this atrocity. I sincerely apologize. I love you all the more for having managed this simple task correctly. It seems beyond the abilities of the average bear.

But we all know that you are way, way beyond average.

Jury's out on the bear bit.

Love,

Tony Spectacular
