My "I might just be a redneck" 510 hodgepodge mod

Ok, I'm an RN, not an electrician. But even a goof like me can walk into Radio shack and buy a battery box, flip it to parallel, and find a good use for the connector from that (^%)!#@ USB passthrough I wanted so bad for my 510 to find out later it was junk.

Nice battery life, the rubber bands make it pretty solid, and I can change colors every day. Now, all i gotta do is wire in the usb charger up in such a way that it goes through the protected circuit and make some kinda quick clip from the box to the usb thing and heck, Ill be happy. Beats the pants off a 180 mAH ecig bat.

I did get tired of waiting for a janty stick 510 adapter.

....awww... don't start asking me all at once if I can build you one of these....

I do wish I had the savoire faire to make it look really cool, or figure out how to box this all up in the right way. Never was very handy with electrical stuff, but I do interior remodeling. tiling, knock out or build walls, etc. Head made of wood, not wire ;-)

But dammit, it does work pretty nice. I kinda wanted to give an example of what us klutzes are up to and not be afraid to put a not so pretty pic out there...

Outstanding fix to an all too common problem. Your device is another of many examples that shows that most anyone can puttogether a device that just plain works. Great stuff. If you want to take it out in public, you could try inserting it into a squash or melon to improve it's outward appearance.

Hmm... not a bad idea... here's what happened after I read your post...
I needed to rob a local liquor store to replenish my funds, so I reconfigured slightly.

It worked well, as you can see

Then, I was seized with inspiration that verges on true marketing genius

I knew that holder was good for something.... even holds an extra
battery/atomizer just in case

and STILL doubles as a fundraising device.....

Well, at least it looks cooler.

that's the end of the mod... looks pretty ok. 2 parallel 14440's, 360+360 mAH, spare atom and bat in pouch. To charge it up, I turned the button TOWARD the batt box and let the rubber bands hold it in the "on" position and screw it into charger. I hope the charger has a limit.

If not, something gonna blow up 2nite. I wish I had found my hello kitty stuffed doll before I found my janty belt clip. I coulda been rich. Wouldn't have ta knock off the local 7-11's anymore

That's an absolutely brilliant idea! I am sure this will be a big thing - in Japan and China at least. It's a real winner! In that 20-30 market.

And no, I'm not joking. It's one of the greatest ideas ever seen on these forums, or elsewhere.

(Would be better if the atty was connected at right angles so it looked like kitty herself was vaping).
