Hi all,

I'm new to this forum, but started vaping about 2 months ago as a means to stop smoking and lower costs.

Objective a) has been achieved, I have a background hobby in building complex computer systems with multiple water loops using complex analysis instruments to measure water flow, voltages, power output, overclocking etc, so naturally the technology behind vaping and e cigarettes hooked me instantly. I believe after my first e cig purchase, I had one more analog cig before giving them up completely and took to vaping permanently.

I was introduced to the Ego VV and stardust which I then went a purchased along Vermillion River e-juice, which I am currently still using until I get my own mixes working well, but it wasn't long after that the technology behind the e-cigs took over and my curiosity led me to these forums which opened the whole new world to the various mods, systems etc, which is right up my street. Objective b) went straight out the window, and costs have now shot way passed the costs normal smoking.

I now have a collection of mini vivi nova's, vivi nova's, CE5's, and mass market rebuildable atomisers, together with a VMAX, Provari (Black Mini with Green LED) and 3 or 4 Ego C twist's / spinners. About 50m of kenthal AWG 32/34 wire and 20m of various thickness wicks, and about 200 pounds worth of concentrates / PG/VG and PG Nic purchased in USA.

The funny thing is, all of the above is aimed at REDUCING costs in the long run, but i think in the end i'm just kidding myself, so hey, I achieved objective a) which obviously out weighs objective 2.

Comparing this new hobby to my other hobby (computer building) I believe the total cost I've spent on e-cigs, compares to just one component of the last system I built (The water cooling system alone cost 3000 pounds), so I guess I can change objective b) to; "cheaper than my current hobby", and be happy with that.

My new target now is to start focusing on user mods, in particular, rebuildable atomisers, which requires a more dedicated involvement, and interaction with the designers I believe, to actually be able to get your hands on one (which I've learnt is extremely difficult and currently awaiting the Ithaka pre order to start).

Finally... I look forward to becoming part of this community and learning and hopefully one day contributing to this great community.

Cheers

if i added up everything i've spent in the month i've been vaping...
nope, it'd still be a little cheaper than the amount i would have spent on cigarettes in that month. win! (helps that a lotta my vape supplies were gifted to me from my mom though!) next on my list of things she's going to gift me so that my costs stay lower than my previous habit... well... she does have 3 zmax's. lets see what i can do. muhahahahaha!

(note, she did just order me a phiniac tank as a birthday gift... hurry up birthday, hurry!... so i might hafta leave her precious zmax's alone for a while... )

welcome to ecf. hope you find it as wonderful as i have! ;).

I have seen that vaporizer before. It is really cool. Uses butane i believe. But, that vaporizer is used for "other things". This might not be the best place for your needs.

Thanks for the welcome everybody.

It's funny to hear a congrats on my no smoking time, as I stopped thinking about cigarettes about 3 days after converting to vamping.

Having given up smoking 6 times before, the hardest part was always having a drink with your mates who all smoke. Now with vaping, they're more interested in what I'm using rather than their standard analogs. 3 of them have actually fully converted to vamping because of this.

I guess the costs are high right now as its like an investment for the future, I have the kit to last me a year now, so I think it's best to compare costs over an extended period of time so we will see :)

Cheers
