Newb but not so newb, newer vaper. lol. This is a bit long but is simply my journey thru vaping.

I started my journey Dec 20, 2013. actually came into it by accident was smoking 1.5 packs a day for 25 years and was happy. It was my wife's birthday she wants me to take her to local vape shop, get her a kit. So I go long, being her birthday and all. Ended up tasting the flavors, was impressed. she gets a an ego 800mah. I figured what the hell and ended up with my own kit, getting an itaste vv/vw 3.0 as i am more technical and wanted to be able to customize my experience.

I vaped all the way home an an hr after i get home wanted a cig, tried but didn't taste the same smoked half put it out, vaped instead. Then tried 1 more cig several hrs later same thing tasted funny, didnt really want it. That was my last cig, didn't even mean to quit just happened. I had tried several things over the years to quit chantix, wellbutrin, gums etc none of it worked. i started vaping and in less than 24hrs, boom. The weirdest part was with all the other methods they only helped me cut down, with vaping, although i had cravings for a real cig, i knew i wouldn't like it, so would just chain vape for a bit to get over it.

Just a week later after Christmas, still vaping haven't smoked a cig but still get cravings every now and then. I decide I need something with a bigger battery so get an itaste mvp for 40 bucks off ebay, I also buy several protank 2's as the iclear 16's that came with the kit weren't really cutting it.

About this time I find several vaping channels on you tube, Riptrippers, Vapingwithtwisted420, indoorsmokers and pbrusado, just to name a few. Watch alot of videos, subscribe and even now watch when new vids come out.

couple of weeks go by and decide i want a vv/vw mod, decide on a vamo v5. pick one up for $40 off bombvapor. Makes for a whole different experience. the issue i had with the vv and the mvp was anything close to 90-95% its max and would get dry burned hits, I liked the warmer vape but they couldn't really deliver.

another couple of weeks goes by and take the plunge into rebuildables and get a rta, after researching and a lot of vids decide on a kayfun 3.1 clone by hcigar. go with micro coils and cotton.

Wow This is what i was looking for I am very happy for another 3 weeks, but then my vamo dies, the center pin messed up and the threads warped.

So I decide on 2 things never get a mod with a cheap brass 510 connection and I wanted a mechanical mod and a vv/vw, so I buy a itaste vtr off craigslist that covers the vv/vw and order an hcigar nemesis clone from vaperoyalty.

The vtr is a great vv/vw device will fire sub ohms down to .6 (.8 with full voltage) has a great range but is heavy as brick, lol, though i dont mind the weight.

The Hcigar Nemesis, wow I now see why people love mechs, got the mag switch upgrade and better pins. It's a dream, I got a dripper at the same time and wow it and the kayfun are just amazing on it. The vtr has it place when i want an adjustable vape or a quick switch to a different flavors via the protanks.

Now this brings us today I cant believe its only been 9 weeks, it feels alot longer.Never have cravings for a cig anymore, even the idea is no longer appealing in any way.

Just got in 3 winsmoke sqaupe clones direct from the manufacturer. Going to start builds on em tomorrow and can say though my journey may be on a fast track. whatever you vape on if its just a basic igo with and iclear 16 or a mech with a rda. as long as your happy with your vape thats all that matters. To me its become a hobby and something i enjoy alot more than i did cigs. it appeals to my technical nature.

my next task though it will most likely be months from now its to build my own mod, prob a dna 30 box mod, though for the foreseeable future I am happy and don't feel any need to upgrade further.

I know its addicting constantly wanting new stuff, but I aint going broke doing it. I started with a regular EGO style battery and CE4 clearos which was OK for beginning but then stepped up to a VV & bottom burners. That's as far as I will go because Im satisfied with those, no way in hell Im paying 15-20 bucks for a cartomizer. I know a lot of people like the RBAs but it seems they just want mass clouds of vapor for show but as long as I can get my nicotine Im happy.

Hey there, seems like we are walking down the same street with me just a few blocks behind.

Very similar experience after I had my first few 'vapes'. Yeah I want a cig, but I'll have this instead.

Currently rocking a Vamo V5 with iClear30s, my VTR and Nemisis clone were ordered 2 weeks back, should be here next week. Ordered more coils for the iClear as well as a russian 91 clone and a genesis clone for the nemmy. Hangsen Ruyan-4 keeps me happy.

My wife quit cigs the same day 12/20, though she is taking a slower journey, she stayed with the iclear 16's and her ego for a good while only 2 weeks ago wanted her own itaste vv/vw 3 and recently we got her a couple of hypertanks, and we have now ordered 2 more. she is taking her own pace. though she is beginning to look at a mech, since i got my nemesis.

Give her an "Atta Girl!!" from me!! Whatever she does vape-wise is better than smoking, no doubt!! Now, go hide your Nemisis, wives can be sneaky!!

Rugar7, rba's including my dripper are more for flavor and quality of vape than vapor. The prebuilt coils with silica don't give good flavor, in comparison with cotton, i started rebuilding with protank coils, makes a huge difference in flavor. also stopped the potential for flooding they have with silica and prebuilt coil quality is not very good, sloppy to be honest. with a good nano coil in there and its a different world.

Do you get more vapor with rebuilding, yes. especially with cotton and nano/mico coils, its a dense warm (less you build for high resistance.) vapor with more concentrated flavor.

hope that helps :)

my hcigar kayfun 3.1 cost me about $40 off ebay shipped. supplies did cost a little. whittling it down it you'll need 28gauge kanthal pretty cheap can find 100ft for about 7 bucks, some good pointed tip tweezers about $5-7, micro/technical screw driver set $5-8, organic cotton balls $3-4. lighted magnifier varies depending on what ya get $5-30. so really its not that expensive especially since most of it is a one time cost. the long term costs are just the kanthal and cotton balls, which last a really long time and are cheap. 20 gauge needle and a few cheap drill bits, i use 5/32, 3/32 and 3/16 depending on the coil as well. compared with rough $12 per 5 replaceable heads and it can save you money especially if you rebuild your existing clearos.
