Hi, i'm new to the forums and i can't seem to find the answer to my question. I have a new Joye 510 and it seemed to be working fine until today. I have had it maybe 3 weeks. whenever i fill the prefilled cartridge with e-juice (Maybe 3-4 drops) it starts to make that gurgling noise. So i tried blowing out the atomizer and i don't know what to do? I'm getting very frustrated at this thing. Now the atomizer is running super hot, more so than normal. Am i doing something wrong? Can someone help me, i hate this thing now, and i want to go back to my cigarettes! At least you don't have to blow them out :( I'm so mad right now!

I gave up on carts a loooong time ago. I use cartomizers becuase they don't do the funky things like what you mentioned here.

Anyway, the atomizer could be going out. I would try soaking it in DIET Soda, not regular soda, for a hour and them flush it with warm tap water. Blow it out as best you can and then let it dry over night in a warm place. On top of a TV, computer monitor, under a desk lamp etc.

After it is good and dry, drip 2 drops directly on the bridge and let it soak in for a minute or two. Then put a cart on it and take a few small hits and see if it gets hot.

If you do all this and it doesn't get any better, the atomizer is probably bad.

it could be several things really...they do run hot expecially if you're chain vaping but generally it getting real hot is a sign that it's not running as efficiently as possible...

it does sound like it's flooding....it also sounds like the polyfil in your cart is in need of being changed...

Here is what I would do...
1) change out the polyfil in the cart...check into any of the cartridge mods like PTB, ZFM, or blue foam (my preference is the blue foam)...until then I'd try dripping...
2) blow out the atty as best you can...and then
2a) put it back on your battery and while gently blowing into the atty pulse the button on and off...continue to do this until the atty coil is glowing uniformly across the entire length of coil (you'll be able to see it on both sides of the bridge)
2b) stop blowing on it and it should get to uniform glow fairly quickly...
3) at this point let it cool a little and reprime it with about 3 drops of juice on the bridge

reasoning being that if you're using a lot of tobacco flavored or dark colored juice you build up a lot of particulate gunk on the coil and it gets way less efficient...so you burn that off every so often and it'll get better..
the filler materieal if you're only dripping 3-4 drops in it..well that's kinda gunked up and it's wicking efficiency is shot...so until you can replace that might as well save yourself the headache and drip directly onto the bridge and vape through a blank cart...

EDIT: like the above poster said...there's also a possibility that the atty could be going bad...if you have a multimeter I'd check the resistance...standard joye 510 should be in the neighborhood of 2.2Ω and SLb and knock offs around 3.5Ω

A gurgling noise usually means it's flooded, and blowing it out usually solves the problem. After blowing it out, be sure to re-prime it before using it again. I suggest you blow it out, put about 2 drops of liquid on the bridge and let that soak for a minute. Then put another drop in just before using it.

It is also a good idea to set aside the cart, and just drip when trying to revive an atty. Try not to get impatient with it, or you will neglect to let it cool and do all sorts of things that end up destroying the atty, instead of reviving it. After blowing them out, they need to be broken in again, so give it some time before deciding it needs to be "fixed" some more.

Lastly, always be sure to keep plenty of spares on hand. ;)

EDIT: You people are fast! There were no replies when I started. :D All good suggestions.

510s run hot - mine get volcanic - its fine it wont hurt them - it might hurt YOU though if you lay it on exposed skin, but dont worry if your 510 gets hot.
Some will last ages (months) some will goes toes up really fast - YMMV as they say. Keep the bridge moist, that will lengthen their life.
And OP, I drip as well - I found carts annoying lol.

wow, i'm new to ecigs. did not know the atty had such a short life span. i better stock up

lol me neither....man my atties must be magical seing how I've lost one LR atty in 3 months...and two normal one in 5 months vaping (and both of those were Janty specifinc atties)...and I've only been vaping for 7 months

Stocking up is a great Idea we had no Idea and I found when they start getting hot they are on there way out. I found it expensive at first everytime we ordered juice we bought batteries or atty's a couple at a time. Now we have about 8 batteries and atty's each and only order replacements about once a month 1atty and 1 battery now we don't worry about running low. Build up your stock it makes it great. oh yea and we both have 3 chargers one each in car and 2 in the house.
