With all hype regarding the Kabuki along with Zen's reputaion for high quality I ordered one tith the 510 thread. I got a good deal from MTBaker's cyber Monday sale and it arrived today. After following the instructions in the video I attached the device to my Provari and it would not fire. I attached it to another of my Provari's and it still would not fire. I adjusted the 510 with the smaller allen wrench that was included and still it would not work. MTBaker was very nice about the issue and I am returning the unit. Just to be on the safe side I brought the Kabuki to a local vape shop to see if it would work on any of their PV's and they all came back with the same error message "check atomizer".
Zen should take a lesson from his friends at Provape with regard to quality control. This unit shuld have never made it into the shipping department.
I absolutely ADORE the kabuki and have bought several over the past month.
It's THE best tank IMO for flavor, ease of refilling, great vapor/airflow too .
BUT Ive had several minor problems ,including the excat same thing you had!
Id purchased mine from Creme de Vape, a UK shop, so I wrote to them and they replied 'to fiddle a bit with the coil' and pull it out a notch..which I did.....and it worked!
Previous to this, I had tried it out on another P3, some Isticks, a mini Cloupor, a sigelei 30w all with the same result (no atomizer message).Obviously also tried changing the coil several times =same thing......
Apparently there seems to be a prob with the contact .
To be honest I thought it was no biggie when it first happened but now,two three weeks later it's starting to be a real nuisance ;One of the POINTS of the kabuki was,if i understaood correctly, to make quality vaping "easy" for those of us who arent capable -or willing- to tinker about making our own coils etc.But that's what I kinda have to end up doing because of this problem!
Im NOT a handy person -young urban female not at all good or knowledgeable in that dept and dont want to BOTHER to learn either

- but now ,each time I change the coil I have to take a pair of plyers and jiggle it a bit so as to "pull" the end bit out slightly, not too little or it wont make contact, nor too much or it'll pull out outright. Its a real pain....means I have to have plyers with me and the time , spend 10 -15 mi n doing this ....basically,im NOT happy
So ,you definitely did the right thing returning yours to the store for an immediate exchange ,I wish i had done so when I first noticed the probIem
Im sure you'll LUV it when you get your new one and get to try it out !
I LOVE that tank and have already bought several and still plan on buying
more...
(Im in the midst of changing my 4/5 setups from isticks+mini Nautilus' to Kabukis+Provaris ).
The other two kabuki's I have purchased so far were fine, but I
have had "minor" problems such as = one makes this awful crunch crunch sand-grinding sound from the first time I tried to screw on/off the glass tank-not enough final polishing maybe ???? im no expert, far from it so cant say for sure...?
Then the very first one I bought the glass tank broke when i first filled it and screwed back on ... didnt even get the chance to get one puff on it..... a large square-shaped chunk of glass approx 0.5mm X 0.5mm broke off the bottom of the glass tank...without even letting it drop or knocking it against anything...Luckily I had read of many people having probs with the glass tanks breaking so i had ordered a spare straight off with the kit...
These are just very minor things that are annoying, yes, but
wont change my opinion that the Kabuki is the BEST tank out THERE for people with my style of vaping - 10W flavour chaser

in search of convenience and no mechanical type tinkering !!
(maybe just needs a few more small finishing touches or even -better attention to end-quality-control ???).It's brand new. With time hopefully these kinks will be worked out .
I'd still recommend it to anyone,no qualms
!!!
