These have been my main issues with the lavatube...don't let these turn you off from it. It is a really nice vv tube mod and after owning the buzz and joker AV this is by far the most convenient for switching voltages on the fly. It feels great and in the hands and I would still recommend it...it does have its problems(like any Pv).

1. The button...oh the button. Its just not consistent. I would say atleast a couple times a day I go to take a hit and realize its not activated. I have also has it stick on two occasions. It wasn't a big deal...just gave it a little tap and it stopped but honestly the button is my one big gripe. When it works its awesome. It feels great and its nice a clicky. It just doesn't like to work every time.

2. The threads. If you don't have a thread lubricant I would recommend one. They are kind of rough.

3. The voltage buttons and power button rattle. You can't really notice unless you shake it but it annoys me sometimes.

4. Its long. With a 3mil tank on it it's a long pv. Still though...I have had no pocket problems with it.

That's about it. Honestly for the price of this pv those complaints are not a huge deal to me. You can nit pick just about any pv you buy and find little problems with it but when it comes down to it the lavatube is a solid vv device with an unbeatable price tag. Not the perfect pv but it will work just fine for you as a provari backup. To tell you the truth I have played with my friends provari and I prefer the lavatube.

You should check if its not too late too get a replacement bob. You might get lucky and get a second batch unit. Threads are silky smooth, vent hole is real and the crooked connections have been addressed. The button shouldn't stick at all, its one of the best thing about the unit..."click click" :D .

I have a second run. My connection is straight and the vent hole is all the way through.

What I have found is if you press the button at an angle or don't have your finger all the way(pressing the bottom or sides) on the button it doesn't fire. If you have your finger right in the center of the button it fires on every single push. But I am not looking at where my finger is on the button every time I activate it and sometimes it doesn't fire for me. This happens 2 or 3 times a day.

The button isn't bad. I love the button. It feels nice and its clicky. But 1 out of every 100 presses doesn't fire(for me anyway). Honestly its not a big enough deal for me to get a replacement. It doesn't even really bother me but I can see how it may bother some.

Really though its not as big of a deal as it sounds.

I have a provari lol I am so confused. I wanted the lavatube as a backup to my provari

I am sorry! I guess I am the one who was confused! I have heard about the above small issues with the Lavatube, although I don't own one. Some people have reported problems, mainly an unbranded battery, but most say it is perfect!

Having two vv devices will be great! You should be able to find your sweet spot easily.

If you don't wanna wait for the kit you can do o.k. without it.. and cheaper than the extra 30 dollars.

I was going to wait for the whole kit but for me this way turns out to be better. You may wanna consider it.

I use a multi purpose charger that I got from MadVapes for 7 bucks when I bought my 14500 Trust Fire batteries for my 5v box mod.
Mind you I haven't tried it yet cus the LavaTube and batteries is still on it's way but it's supposed to work for 18650's also.

The battery got at RTDVapors for 9 bucks.. ( Coupon code for 5% off: ECF5 ) I got the last 18650 AW IMR they had, so they are out now. I already have CE2's I'm going to use with the unit, so I don't need their 7 dollar atty, or the 10 dollar case. That's 17 bucks i'm saving right there.

So I ordered just the LT unit itself. The unit cost me 65 dollars with the 10% off code ( epuffdirect ) with another $2.80 added for shipping insurance. If you use their cheapest shipping option Ground I think shipping is Free.

Subtotal $69.99
Shipping & Handling $2.80
Discount (epuffdirect) -$7.00
Points Earned 17 Volcano Points
Gift Certificates: $0.00
Grand Total $65.79

If you don't opt for the shipping insurance it would only cost you 62.99 + battery ( if you can find one)

battery cost:
Subtotal: $9.95
Less Coupon ECF5: ($0.50)
Subtotal: $9.45
Tax : $0.00
Shipping (First-Class Mail®) & Handling: $1.94
Total: $11.39
Balance Due: $0.00

I spent 77.18. Most people will already have the atomizers and a drip tip, just add a charger for 7 bucks from MadVapes and it's still cheaper than the 100 dollar kit.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hey I actually like that the LT is so big.. It's like the Hammer of Thor for vaping.. (and it's lava powered LOL) But really it's not as large as people make out.. watch some videos and compare the size in peoples hands.. it's just a lil longer than the Provari. It's not obnoxiously large.
I am jealous of those who got one. I am just now interested in mods and the kits are not available until batteries are back in stock.
Canadian vendors have some in stock (under different names) if that helps you KimberlyM, Canvape.com has the kit for 89.99$ and USD is worth a little more than ours atm I believe. Maybe I just got a lucky unit, I can't get mine to NOT fire lol. For the price I think most people are more than satisfied since they fly off the shelves pretty quick.
I'm hoping you get a perfect unit on day one jacquelyn! I've been up all night, is today tomorrow?
I contacted Volcano and asked about the batteries since I just purchased my setup + 1 extra battery last week. They replied they would refund both so I guess I ordered 2 batteries just in time from RTDVapors on Sunday. I have already received shipping confirmation, that's pretty fast.
As far as button problems, I must have lucked out because I haven't experienced any problems.
I really don't care for the size especially using it in public places but compared to what I had, I definitely overlook the size.
A tank system really compliments the looks if you are into cartomizers.
I do use the tank and am convinced it's the only way to go. Do you buy yours from Volcano? I have been trying to figure the ohm and dual thingy. I purchased the 4ml tube with the 1.5 ohm dc, the guy said not to go any higher than 4 however if I purchased the 7ml I would be able to go as high as 6.
So do you have any suggestions or advice on what works best?
I ordered my LT and also the 4ml tube and 5 xtra 3.0 carts. The higher the ohm on the carts the more flexibility you have with voltages. I believe the 3.0 carts work in the 4ml tube so you can vape at 6.0 with the 4ml tank you just need some higher resistance carts is all. If you did go higher than 4.0 the LT would just drop the volts down to an acceptable level for the cart.
Thanks Keeno. I think where I was confused is the guy didn't mention 3.0 carts, just the 1.5 and the two different tank sizes. So being a noob I just thought it had to do with the size of the tanks. Now I see how ridiculous this thought is...lol Have you found the tube and carts cheaper online from another supplier that fit the LT? If so, would you mind sharing?
I know there are carts that won't fit the LT tank but am not experinced enough with all the different carts and tank combinations to really help ya out BUT there are quite a few threads and posts that address this issue for ya....one at this moment is active in the variable voltage section of the forum....enjoy your LT....:)
