You might want to take a look at candlepowerforums.com as the members there are psyco about their flashlights (including bulbs and batteries). They may have the scoop on hot and cool bulbs.

So far I used a Xmas light with a 9v battery and burnt the piss out of myself so I'm going To try and hook a cup to it and a battery pack I've got on my other mod to see how it works out

I'm assuming you submerged the led in the liquid to heat it up to vaporize. Did the liquid keep the bulb cool in your test? Or did it get too hot and pop?
